Life Is Strange 2 Possible Solutions to Crash / Technical Problems for Windows 10

Overview

After Episode 2 update I have encountered several problems including FatalError and audio glitches which made the game unplayable. But after trying out different methods, I can play now 😀 Hope these methods can help you too if you have such problems

General Solutions

General game-related solutions
Uninstall and reinstall the game
Update Windows 10
Update your audio and graphic drivers.
Verifying game cache in Steam

Audio related problems:
Uninstall and reinstall audio drivers.
Make sure your speaker/headphones are running on stereo mode
Disabling Game Bar in Windows 10 under Start-> Settings -> Gaming –> Turn off everything in Game Bar, Capture and Game Mode
If you have a Nvidia Graphics card and use GeForce Experience, in GeForce Experience turn off General –> In-game overlay

Fatal Error After Pressing Play

Try to install the vcredist exe file located under Life Is Strange 2/_CommonRedist/vcredist/2015. If you have a newer version like 2017, you will need to remove that version from Control Panel –> Uninstall a program to install this older version (it actually fixed that for me) .
Remember to restart your computer

Audio Cutting Out and Texture Glitch on some texture

If the general solutions above don’t work:
– Run the .NET framework pack repair tool [www.microsoft.com]
– uninstall .NET Visual C++ Redistributable versions lower than 4.6.2 in Control Panel –> Uninstall a program

You should have .NET framework in Windows by default. To double check this, you can find it by opening Start -> Type “windows feature” enter–> then you see .NET 4.7 is on by default
