This is a little guide on how to improve your FPS!
Foreword
Hey guys! I have a very bad PC – so I looked a bit in the config data’s, and found out how to improve the FPS!
What to do
First things first: close Paladins!
So, now you need to find the folder with the config data in it.
It should be there:
E:SteamLibrarysteamappscommonPaladinsChaosGameConfig
Now, open the “DefaultSystemSettings” data with any text program.
There are many things, that you can’t change in the normal Paladins options.
Just edit those files. To turn off something, you just need to change the word “true” to “false”.
Also you can change things like “MaxDrawDistanceScale” to 1.
Then just save it and start Paladins.
Things to change
Here are some things, that I would recommend to change:
StaticDecals=False
DynamicDecals=False
MaxActiveDecals=0
UnbatchedDecals=True
DecalCullDistanceScale=0.5
Decals are Bullet hole’s. Less bullet hole’s – less lag!
LightEnvironmentShadows=False
MotionBlur=False
DepthOfField=False
AmbientOcclusion=False
Bloom=False
bAllowLightShafts=False
Distortion=False
DropParticleDistortion=False
LensFlares=False
AllowRadialBlur=False
These are mostly shader and light based options. Turning them off, should give you a little FPS boost.
Something, you shouldn’t turn off, is this:
DirectionalLightmaps=True
If you do, you won’t see any textures and everything will be black.
These are just some things, that I have changed. If you still experience FPS problems and you want to change things, first use Google if you don’t know what some options do, so you won’t break your game. 🙂
