Overview
Adra Dragon – Slaying the beast on Path of the Damned
Tips
Prone is decent, but doesn’t stop some of the Adra Dragon’s attacks.
Petrified and Paralysis works a lot better.
- Wizard – Gaze of the Adragan (Petrify)
- Wizard – Fetid Caress (Paralyze*) *Probably will miss
- Chanter – At the Sound of His Voice, the Killers Froze Stiff (Paralyze)
- Druid – Calling the World’s Maw (Petrify)
- Druid – Hold Beasts (Paralyze*) *Probably will miss
- Petrify Traps
- Paralyze Traps
You’ll want to focus on major healing / endurance potions, revival scrolls, a resting bonus (Probably +4 Intellect from Brackenbury Inn as the duration of your paralyze and petrify will be longer), and any food that you think you’ll need to survive.
This is done through dialog where you inquire about why the dragon is consuming the Adra Statue. The Dragon realizes he’ll eventually starve and if you offer to free him he will task you with a quest to free him, but this allows you to setup and prime your attack instead.
As shown in the tutorial video, when you attack the dragon a bunch of Xaurips will attack you from the south, but from the north you’ll be attacked by several Adragans who will try to charm and stun you. If you spam all your summonable creatures in their way, that will buy you time to kill the dragon first, then deal with the minions after.
The dragon has massively high defenses. Sometimes landing spells can be difficult, as most miss. You can either account for this and use accuracy potions and debuffs to lower the Dragon’s resists so your spells will land, or just save scum. Obviously save scumming doesn’t work on Trial of Iron.
Once you have him Petrified or Paralyzed he will be a lot easier to hit and kill. Make sure you unload as much damage as possible when your status effects land.
