General Tips
1) You can access wiki from game by typing “/wiki ‘something'”. This will open wiki page for ‘something’.
2) Most important thing to do as new player is to raise favor with NPCs. This will unlock new skills you can learn from them, more money for shopkeepers, in some cases storage. Some npcs will also give you gifts at certain favor levels. To raise favor you can do quest for npc – but this will get you only so far. To max it out, you need to give them proper gifts. Select “small talk” option when talking with NPC to learn what they like and dislike. Right-clicking item, and selecting “more info” will let you know what NPCs will accept this item as gift.
3) Don’t rush things. Unlike most MMOs there is no real reason to rush towards end-game. Take it slow, try as many skills as you want.
4) Leveling combat skills to about 15-20 lv shouldn’t take you too much time and will give you at least some idea how they work. So don’t be too afraid to experiment.
5) You can learn every skill on one character. But it will take time.
6) Most of your power will come from gear. You will notice that most weapons don’t have any dmg on they own – that’s because gear only boost/enables certain combat skill sets. For example you need staff to use Staff fighting – but also fire/ice magic.
7)Crown icon on right-side bae will open quest log. There few more tabs there:
Work Orders – it will appear once you accept your first work order. Useful if you accept bunch, but start doing other things and forgot what exactly you need to do.
Stuff to do – just few tips on things you might want to do. Nothing too important, but if you feel lost it might give you something to aim for.
Notepad – VERY useful tool. In PG you often will come across puzzles. To solve them you will often have to do some leg work, find information spread around. Not only that, quest logs usually provide only very basic info on what to do. Noting things on your own is important.
8) Speaking of which – read everything. If you find any piece of paper lying around, or book in some dungeon, or note nailed to the wall – read it. There is good chance it provides info about some puzzle/secret doors somewhere in the area. Such pieces of paper are also main source of Lore exp.

Here’s another good tip:
When gathering, gather everything!
all gathered items share spawn points. So if you, say gather a strawberry in Serb hills, that could respawn as an apple tree, a piece of Oak wood, a Seed, or even grapes. Cherry picking when gathering in this game is a very fast way to work yourself out of nodes you want. So gather everything, and drop items you don’t want as your bags get full. or keep them…most Gathered items can be turned in as favor for various NPC’s.
(This is true for mobs too! If you keep killing one type of mobs, they population will drop.)
10) also suggested by @temjiu
Don’t kill the Chickens!
Seriously, there are 2 kinds of chickens. Plain old “chickens” that are wonderful creatures that wander about laying eggs if they live long enough. Then there are “wild chickens” that are one shot kills and yield chicken meat for cooking. Wild chickens are fair game…regular chickens PLEASE DON’T KILL! we need dem eggs! you will too eventually.
(I just add that if you kill chickens, or rats near NPCs in Serbule you will lose a bit of a favor with them. Not much, but ealry on every point counts)
Combat
1) You can select two different combat skill sets, and pick six abilities from each. You can select one skill for both slots – but you will be limited to the same set of abilities, so its not good idea.
2) To level combat skill, all you have to do is kill any monster within one minute of using any corresponding ability. So for example – if you use Slash (Sword skill set basic attack) every time you kill monster for next minute you will get exp for Sword skill set
3) There is third skill bar – this one is reserved for special skills like First Aid, Armor Patching, etc.
4) You need food/drinks to regen health and power. Snack food stacks with normal. Higher level foods will aslo grant bonus to max hp/power. Regen tick roughly every 5 seconds.
5) Your armor bar will absorb half of incoming damage. Furthermore, for every 25 armor you have left you will gain 1 universal damage mitigation.
6) Monsters have “rage” meter. it fills when they deal, or take damage. When it fills up, they will use special skill. If you can, try to lower monster Rage, it will make your life easier.
7) There is no “best” skill combination. There are some that are more effective than others, but it can change depending on monsters you fight. For example – a lot of monsters in Gazluk (one of higher lv zones) is resistant to Ice damage, so you might want to avoid using Ice Magic there. Here are few popular skills that you can obtain early on [WARRING: SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD]:
– Psychology. You can obtain it as early as Anagoge (starter island). You will have to do quest for elf in run down house near beach. It’s one of best support skills in the game – offers good heals, cc, rage control, dmg mitigation. On top of that it has no equipment restrictions – so it can be paired with any other skill.
– Mentalism – similar to Psychology, but more focused on restoration, no cc, but higher dmg. Taught by Echur in Serbule after reaching high enough favor.
– Sword. Starter skill. Good dmg, and rage control. Can be power hungry, and focuses mostly on physical dmg (slashing and piercing). Requires sword to be equiped (main hand slot item)
– Unarmed – Another starter skill. Its unique in a way that you can use all of its skills when not holding any weapon, or using Unarmed weapons in both hands (cestus/claws, for main/off hand). If you equip other weapons, you still will be able to use some of its skills (like kick, headbutt). Unarmed really shines later in the game, when you collected enough gear. It can deal good damage, has decent cc and survivability. Unfortunately it’s mostly focused on crushing dmg – with some special slashing skills. With enough gear you can make it deal quite a bit Trauma dmg.
– Fire magic – good dmg, strong Aoe, decent cc. Power hungry. Obtained from Velkort in Serbule. You don’t learn new spells by leveling – you have to do research that you learn from Velkort(and other NPCs for higher lv). Higher lv researchers require some rare materials, so its not best skill for new player.
– Archery – can be learned on Anagoge. Very good dmg, and some utility. Has decent elemental coverage. You need arrows – and several different types to use all skills. This make it rather expensive, and not recommended for new players.
Money making
Let’s get one thing out of the way – in Project:Gorgon it’s VERY rare for monsters to drop money. You will have to use different methods.
1) In my opinion best way to make money is to do Work orders. You need to find billboard – Serbule has one near player storage area. Work orders are tied to your Industry skill. The higher level of Industry the better, and more, work orders you can accept. Once completed, you can’t accept the same work order for one month.
There is board in Serbule that allows for player-made WO. Check it from time to time to see if you can complete any – it could be way to gain quick cash.
Most higher lv work orders that are worth doing would require you to craft something using Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, Carpentry, Tailoring, or Toolcrafting. From this skills Leatherworking is arguably easiest one to gather materials for.
2) Another way to get money would be selling stuff. Here comes gathering professions. Most notably – Surveying. Learned in Serbule Hills (one of two places you can end up after leaving Anagoge, other being Serbule) it will allow you to gather gems – used for crafting higher quality equipment, and probably easiest thing to sell to other players. One gem can sell for anywhere between 200-300, depending on what skill is used for. Aquamarine and Amethyst can sell for even more since they are used by Teleportation skills.
Other popular things to sell are : Wood (need Foraging skill) and skins (need.. Skinning. Shocking, I know). You can sell skins to NPC vendors – you won’t lose too much since most players won’t buy them for more than ~120% of vendor price. You can also make some simple food and sell it to vendors too.
And there is gear of course. It’s not best way – you can’t carry too much of it – but single piece of higher quality gear will sell for quite a bit.
Seaking of vendors:
– If you sell something to them, you can buy it back from “buy used” tab. You can even buy things other people sold!
– Some vendors offer consignment option. You can basically ask them to sell some of your items. They will hold said items for few days, and return them to you if they won’t sell.
– Vendors money pool is limited. It refreshes one week after first selling something to them, or when favor lv raises. Raising favor also increases money pool, and can unlock more things to buy from them.
– Most vendors have preferred items. They will pay you much lower price for things they are not interested in, or even wont buy them at all. As a rule of thumb, the more specialized merchant, the bigger money pool they will have. So be sure to sell your items in the right place.
3)You can hire NPC in special areas to sell items for you. You hire them for 24 hours, and each tiem you re-hire them within a month they fee raises.
Once you hire NPc, you have few customization options – you can set decoration, you can edit message peopel will see when selecting your shop, and front-page information. And, of course, you can set items for sale. After you add items to your shop, you can change its price, and decide whatever or not you wnat it to be visable for potential buyers.
Items you put for sale are removed from your inventory and will stay in shop untill sold, or you remove them. Even if your rental time runs out, and you hire different stall, you still will be bale to retrive your items/money – so, if you want you can use it as additional storage.
Currently, there are two areas with player-owned shops – Serbule and Casino.
