144hz Monitor Fix (Sped Up Game Fix)

Overview

Short guide to fix your in-game speed problems.

Introduction

Hi guys, I am going to make this a really short guide that will hopefully fix some of your problems.

To get started I wont guarantee that this will work 100% of the time but it is almost guaranteed for all users with NVIDIA cards.

If anybody has any further issues leave a comment and we can try to discuss it and maybe find a work around but for the time being I think this will be a nice little bit of information.

So lets get started!

Major fix for people with 120-144hz monitors

Okay so this is kind of going to be a step by step tutorial and I am adding pictures to hopefully make it easier to understand. If you don’t use a 144hz monitor and you know it is 60hz feel free to move on to the next section.

This step by step guide is for Windows 10 users. The steps taken SHOULD be very similar on other operating systems so just play around with it a little bit until you can find your display adapter properties.

STEP 1

Go to your destop and rightclick anywhere at all. This should bring up the box with the option to open up your Display Settings.

STEP 2

Next we want to make sure we select our main monitor. If you only have 1 monitor then just select it. Then go down to Advanced Display Settings.

STEP 3

It should take you to a similar looking screen. Make sure to scroll down if you need to, to find the next button on the page called Display Adapter Properties.

STEP 4

Now here is where we need to make our change. Make sure you select the Monitor tab.
Click on the dropdown menu and change your refresh rate to 60hz. This will change your monitor to max out at 60fps. To change it back simply repeat the process and change to 144hz.

CONCLUSION

This SHOULD have fixed your speed issues. There is no need for v-sync. You can go and test it to see if it properly runs now. If you still have an issue with the game speeding up then please continue to the next part of the guide.

Fix for 60hz or persisting issues. (V-SYNC)

So this is going to be for people who have a continuos issues or cant control their framerate.
Yes, unfortunately we are going to have to use V-Sync to fix it.

This DOES NOT WORK for AMD cards.

So to get started you are going to right click on you desktop and choose the option for you NVIDIA Control Panel.

Once that has been opened PLEASE let it take its time to load everything. The program is painfuly slow but just be patient with it.

Make sure you are in the tab titled “Manage 3d Settings” Then continue to the very bottom where you can choose your V-Sync options.

• Adaptive
Should work on almost all systems just fine, it has less delay in-game.

• On / On (Smooth)
I would just use this if you have an issue with it speeding up still.
I personally like the smooth setting but it’s just preference.

This should have fixed any further issues. Thanks for checking out my guide!
If this helped you out at all please consider leaving a positive comment on here or on my profile thanks!
