Overview
How to get all 43 constellations with minimal frustration and reliance on random events.
Intro
This guide was made for the v1.0.2158 version of the game (04/15/2016 update).
This guide might not be fully accurate for future updates.
Starting Constellations
Right off the bat, you start the game with 5 constellations:
- Crown of Heaven
- Queen of Heaven
- Great Mother
- The Dunes
- The Leaf
Character Constellations
- Main Characters
Talk to each hero in their respective home village, then speak with them at the campfire.
- Historian
Invite Roa to your camp. Her location is random, but not particularly uncommon to come across.
If the Ancient Cave is on your map, she is always at the entrance.
- Roa
Speak with Roa at your camp.
- Traitor
Listen to Sargon at your camp. He is located in deserts with a red skull symbol over them.
He approaches your camp after you defeat his magma beast.
- Sargon
Play a game as Sargon.
Location Constellations
These constellations require you to travel to specific areas on the overworld map.
- Afterworld
Learn to speak with spirits by entering the Spirit Gate. You must kill its guardian.
The Spirit Gate is located in forests with an arch symbol above them.
- Pale Dancer
Visit the High Tribe.
- Reefwalkers
Visit the Port of 5 Winds.
- Silkhood
Visit the Ancient Cave.
- Silver Sister
Visit the Celestine.
- Ufratu River
There are two constellations for this one, but you get them both when the river zones are unlocked.
They only count as one new constellation.
- Wildtongue
Learn to speak with animals from Bayun at the campfire.
Bayun is located in forests with a green house symbol above them.
You must feed him and then confront Baba Yaga at her home. At camp, accept Bayun as a companion.
Legend Constellations
These constellations depend on the various traits you have listed under your reputation at the end of the game. Definitely the trickiest type to complete, since there are no hints as to what personalities would lead to a new constellation.
These constellations DO NOT depend on what character you are playing as, starting location, completed events, or which ending you get. However, certain endings can give you a new trait or rearrange the order of your traits. Check the ‘How to Bypass Random Events‘ section on how to prevent the ending from messing up your assigned constellation. To be sure you’ve got the correct traits, check your reputation right after initiating the fight with the King.
There are multiple trait combinations that can unlock the same constellation, but listed below are the most direct/easiest methods (as far as I’ve tested).
——————————————————————————————————————————-
- No traits
Rose can be unlocked by having no traits or just Seductive.
- Only one trait
**edit: “The Rat” has been replaced by “The Fox”. Use the same listed method.
- Two traits (reputation must be in depicted order)
- Two traits (no required order for reputation, as long as depicted traits are present)
- Three traits (reputation must be in depicted order)
++Tip: Set your starting village as either Dustfolk or High Tribe. They offer the most opportunities for picking up traits.
How to Bypass Random Events
This game is full of them, and you don’t want one forcing an unwanted change to your reputation.
- Always cook at the campfire. It never affects your traits, regardless of what you cook. Any other activity (hunting, sleeping, etc) could provoke a random event that adds a trait to your reputation.
- Suicide on every zone. You don’t have to die immediately if you’re searching for a specific event (Baba Yaga, Spirit Gate, etc), but do not clear the zone. Otherwise, you will gain a trait based on how you completed the zone.
- Avoid fans on the final day. They appear based on which traits you have, but interacting with them could rearrange the order of your reputation.
- Lose to the King. Or win. Losing is easier. Any other ending (Forgive, Condemn, Seduce, Deceive) will add a trait to your reputation right before the ending cutscene. However, if Seductive is your number 1 trait, it is likely that the Seduce ending is unavoidable. That’s ok, it will not affect your reputation.
Conclusion
And there you go!
