Overview
Gifts, dishes, and other things to make love a little easier.
Purpose and Statement
This guide is a work in progress. It will not teach you the absolute basics since Kitty does a good job with that already. It also will not reveal a magic way to discern personality types realiably as that is impossible without multiple spreadsheets. I’ve primarily written this to help myself whenever I come across a mechanic I’m struggling with or want to know more about. Hopefully some of it will be useful to you as well.
Dating
Your client is not locked into dating one person. There is no benefit to going steady after just the first date. In fact, it’s a handicap to do so. As long as they do not have three bad dates in general (gaining broken hearts), a single client could feasibly date every single person eligible to them in your black book.
The advantage to basically pimping your client out is reconnaissance for personality traits (so that future clients can benefit) and bleeding them for tip money. And in general, it is better to “go steady” after a second or third date due to the tip bonus you’ll get.
This is applicable to both the client and their date and is the make or break mechanic. Affluence is the star rating next to their occupation on their info card. The higher the star count, the more difficult they are to impress (and seemingly easier to insult and rack up strikes to prematurely end the date.)
Impression is increased by picking appropriate or better restaurants, successfully completing mini-games, good conversation, and using the random Kitty Cupid power-up to buff either the client or their date.
Balancing impression between both the client and their date will ensure repeat dates and steady proposal are successful. On the other hand, when dealing with Kitty Cupid power-ups with no strikes, it’s always safer to buff your client’s date as even if your client themselves are excited about the person, you risk them being “dumped” (lowering your reputation in the process) if their request and subsequent begging does not go through.
Your client’s date’s personality traits affect certain mini-games. You can circumvent the need to “scout” and record personality traits with a throw away client sometimes by simply paying closer attention during mini-games.
Active/Relaxed: Dessert Trolley
Relaxed will always pick unhealthy desserts, active will always pick “healthy.” The following is a list of all the healthy desserts as the list is quite short.
— Tea
— Double Expresso
— Fruit Salad
— Cappucino
— Skinny Latte
Methodical/Carefree: Spider
Intro/Extrovert: Fart Suppression
Extroverts are OK if you fart and own up to it.
Traditional/Experimental: Split Bill
Either you pay (traditional) or they pay (experimental.) Both are OK with going dutch.
Romantic/Spicy: Ex
Spicy seem OK if you’re OK with your ex.
Date mini-games are unlocked whenever you purchase access to a new restaurant.
You start off with:
Memory Game – Make a matching pair.
Dessert Trolley – Remember the order.
Spot the Difference – Your date has changed something about their appearance.
Remember the Waiter – Self explanitory.
Tip the Water – Self explanitory.
Compliment the Chef – Recreate the order of compliments.
Unlockable mini-games (not necessarily in this order):
Flatulance Suppression – Higher or lower card.
Taxi Call – Remember the phone number.
Split the Bill – Pachinko.
Find in Picture – Self explanitory.
Find in Dark – Pick the right silhouette.
Spray Perfume – Self explanitory.
Flirting – Rock, paper, scissors.
Chocolate Box – Pick chocolates.
Spider – Kill it or don’t.
Selfie – Take a good one.
Ex – Dilemma.
There are a few things that can happen over the course of a date that will get you bonus coins. The amount of coins you get depends on the level of the restaurant itself.
— Taxi Cat
— Flying Coin
— Conversation Slots (3 in a row)
— Split the Bill Pachinko (gold pegs)
— Fart Higher/Lower (pair)
— Chocolate Box
— Find in Picture
When you’ve successfully paired off your client, your tip is calculated.
Things that have their own tip bonus:
– Your reputation.
– Matching your client with a player’s avatar.
– Medium/hard restaurants.
– Second and third dates.
As a general rule, higher affluence is high risk, high reward. You can easily burn through your reputation with a seemingly unloveable affluent client.
After a while, your client and their partner will send you a letter in the mail that is graded based on how truly good the match was. If it was a legitimately poor match, you will lose reputation, vice versa if it was good. There are a few things that affect the score that have no penalty if false.
— same occupation
— same affluent rating
— same exact interest(s)
— hair/eye colour preferences met
A good trick is to keep stockpiled letters from clients you feel you did well with, that way if your reputation tanks (likely from dealing with an unloveable, highly affluent client), you can simply open all those letters and reap the reputation bonuses to restore what you lost.
– You can talk about interests three times total, just be sure to pick a different one each time.
– Successful weather discussion is a neutral interaction. Always pay attention to the taxi screen when you arrive.
– If you know the date’s personality traits from prior dates with a different client, take full advantage of that and discuss same-traits. Just because you know, doesn’t mean your client knows.
– Once you’ve unlocked the various salon functions, always do at least one check with Kitty to discern what personality type your client’s clothes, hair, and facial details are. If you aren’t going to change them to appeal to their date, you will at least know what to avoid conversation about later.
– It may a bit rough going coin-wise in the beginning, but don’t forget you can basically buy your way out of all unfortunate situations any time during a date. A small bit of coin now can save your reputation and your future tip bonus later.
– You can view all of Kitty’s loading screen tips from the pause/telephone menu. They are categorised, even.

Gifts
Gift shop is a two tier unlock through the upgrade shop. Past clients who are happy will often send you gifts in the mail when reporting their post-match progress. To “equip” a gift to bring on to a date, simply navigate to the gift shop screen during the pre-date ready segment, find the gift you want to bring from the list, then buy it if you don’t already have it and select it to take along. Gifts are a good way to proactively “take back” an accidental bad restaurant choice or otherwise provide “impression” leeway on a date you know will be difficult ahead of time.
