Dragon Age: Origins Guide

how 2 be gud @ DAO for Dragon Age: Origins

how 2 be gud @ DAO

Overview

ohai ya noobsI am a “professional” DAO player and have cherished this game forev’s Read this guide and I hope it helps ya.Also I played more of this game on Origin then Steam cause Steam’s fa noobs but confound Origin and it’s nonexistant community guides.

Teammates suggested

I kept my same team throughout the entire game.

Morrigan: Cause Morrigan man.
Alistar: Put ALL of you’re points into his constitution for more health, more damage he can take. Once you get up to about 30, start putting some in Dexterity or Strength.
Liliana: THIS is who should be you’re archer. She starts off with talents for it and gets an exclusive bow that carried me throughout the rest of the game.
Now it comes down to you’re character. The options are up to you but some of my best characters where as the follows….

mages. op asfck

Mage: Mages can get broken enough. The one skill, I forget what it’s called, makes an enemy’s explode into a pile of blood and bile. Best of all it chain reacts. This is a must get spell. After you have this spell and another variant of it that is even better, start putting points into spells that slow or stop enemy’s. You’ll be using these as support so you and you’re not tanky characters can sit back and hurl stuff while Alistar takes the force. Be careful though, the explosion spell effects teamates to so you’ll want to move Alistar away from the enemy’s lest you want him caught up in it to(which I did because MORRIGAN MAN. JUST MORRIGAN).

Here I am shown taking a boulder to the face. MAGES FOREVER!!!

warriors. takes 10 arrows to the face. logic

Warrior: DPS, to the max! You’re warrior can dual wield weapons just as a rogue but if you’re going to do that, you’ll need to get the perk that increases you’ll attack speed and the other that lets you dual wield swords and other larger things then daggers. Spec all of it into just pure DPS. You’ll be killing enough you won’t need to worry about enemy’s killing you, plus you’ll have those party members backing you up. You’ll want to spec you’re mages into support and that one explosion skill and maybe the blizzard spell for Morrigan cause that is the ♥♥♥♥ for certain quests.

rogues. weakass unless played right

Rogue: This class felt rather weak to me in the begining but boy was I wrong! To be truly effective, you’ll want to go for the assassin side rather then the bow and arrow.
Don’t get me wrong, bows can deal ALOT of damage but don’t keep up to par with the amount you’ll be doing as an assassin. You’ll want enemy’s focused on you as little as you can get.
Find items that lower hostility to you and WEAR THEM. You’ll be letting you’re skills do the damage for you because without the hostility improvments, enemy’s will target you ASAP and be able to take you out in a couple of hits. You’ll have you’re companions but they won’t be able to help you in time and keeping Alistar focused on all the enemy’s is a must.

and u thought tactics were 4 noobs

Now for tactics. You WILL need to use these.
The first thing that you’ll want is to have all of you’re party members use health polticues(or however their spelt) except you’re mages. These guy’s shouldn’t be getting hit and if they are, it’s you’re responsibility to give them to them. Naturally you’d want you’re mages to use mana potions.
Next, you’ll want to have you’re party member use all of the skills that stop enemy’s RIGHT AWAY because once they start closing in on y’all, ♥♥♥♥ goes down. Stop these guys and you have you’re work cut out for you. Once they’ve regained mobility, repeat and kill. Do this for just about every fight. Others you’ll need tactics but I’ll leave you to think of those(thats right, I’m looking at you Flemeth 😉

i am now accepting free hugs

finale ma homeh

This is what I went through, trying each of the three class’s.
There’s only a few other things I can say and is that certain races work best for certain classes as you may know. Dwarves make the best warriors. Elves make the best mages. And Humans make good rogues or warriors, their supposudly good for all round but if you’re going for rogue or mage and race doesn’t matter, stick with Dwarve or Elves.
I only choose to play as human because MORRIGAN MAN. Yeah, I have a “thing” for her character.
