Basic Characteristics
Orendi can either left click to fire chaos bolts one at a time or right click to charge up and release a 4 bolt blast. They have about the same range but all 4 charge bolts do about twice the damage of a single left click bolt, but the left click bolts fire faster, so it is up to user preference.
Orendi’s first skill is Shadowfire, and what a large part of her gameplay is based on. Casting this ability places a pillar of dark energy, spikes, and other nasty things that erupt a second later and do some serious damage to anything that gets hit. The trick is being able to lead the ability to hit your desired target. Minions are much easier and but players will take practice, especially since they can see the energy gathering before it erupts. The majority of this build is centered around making this better or using it more.
Orendi’s second ability is Nullify, which sends her flying backwards when cast. The level 1 mutation we take causes fire to trail behind her, leaving a small damage over time effect on the ground. This very versatile ability can be used for a wide variety of situations, from escaping enemy players to chipping down enemy minion groups to blasting ahead of a fleeing enemy to cut them off. But most importantly, using it reduces the cooldown of Shadowfire Pillar. Sometimes just blasting one off when there are no enemies in range is the right choice to get off another Shadowfire. Learning when and how to use this is the other big portion of playing Orendi.
Orendi’s Ultimate, Paradigm Shift, is actually pretty straightfoward. She takes a second to weave an incantation in the air and then blasts a column of dark energy forward in front of her a short distance. Ideally, this should be used to finish off wounded players, especially ones you have caught in your Shadowfire blast, but in a pinch can be used to help clear an enemy lane or finish of a sentry.

Group Role
With Shadowfire Pillar, Orendi is a BEAST for pushing lanes foward, from mutation level one and only gets better. Your main role is to blow up the enemy lane and make sure your minions have a clear line to push towards. Dealing with other players though, is the hard part. Your Nullify is mutated in this build to afford you a little extra durability and escape, but the critical part to dueling and beating other players is landing your Pillars, and you will only be able to do that with pratice. However your talents are never wasted roasting enemy bots. Just be careful, Orendi is somewhat fragile and a very easy target for assassins if you are not ready for them. With time, you can become very powerful, especially against melee foes, because of your ability to predict and lead them. When you get your ultimate, look for openings to use it on grouped up players or low health players. Sticking with your teammates, both for protection and offensive power, is critical to finding those chances.
Final Words
Orendi is a character that is very ability focused, much like a classical mage. Taking the time to learn and master them will allow you to apply the same skill set to different targets, but you will always be using those same skills. She is a character for players that enjoy big aoe abilities above all else. Fun, but you need to be careful of assassins and players that dodge out of your blasts and close in to cut your cute little fuse short.
Also her voice work is amazing. She is worth playing for that alone.
