Overview
How to begin.
Beginning
- Once you start the game, you will notice you have to play through a tutorial. Depending on what difficulty and how fast you are, it could take up to roughly an hour.
- When the tutorial in completed, I would recommend traveling to save Boomer (dog companion), Cheeseburger (bear companion), or Peaches (mountain lion companion). There are Human companions, but cmon…. a bear named cheeseburger. I dont think the peggies like a giant bear coming at them. Just make sure not to feed him cheeseburgers, he has diabetes.
- You will notice that to advance in the story, you need “intel.” When you get enough intel, it will unlock story missions for you to complete. This is equivalent to what Resistance points are which you need to draw out the cult leaders.
Heads up… there are microtransactions. Mostly for just weapons with skins and such, but could buy the actual weapons. Ubisoft still loves their microtransactions. Its FarCry though, sooooo it doesnt really give you an edge, unless you wanna be that person with the best weapons no matter what and your willing to spend money.
Heres some little details about the game yall might find interesting.
Multiplayer
Campaign coop is where you and your friend can play together while exploring Hope County.
Theres is the FarCry arcade which is the map editor and multiplayer which we all know. Map editor can now be used to create multiplayer maps again.
Map Editor
- The map editor has over 9000 assets, including assets from previous FarCry games and Assassins Creed games such as Black Flag.
- There is also new Control Zones for the AI so you can have a better ambush or patrol setup.
- The backgrounds to the map can allow a “city” map to look more like its in a city, etc.
- There is also options to be more like God with the ability to change the Moon’s parameters such as the SIZE OF THE MOON. C’mon…. Big Moon = Big …
The gamemode you can have are: Assault, Journey, Team deathmatch, deathmatch, outpost, and bounty hunt.
New Features
- New Vehicles such as airplanes
- Animal Companions, such as Boomer the dog who can also revive you
- You can fish in the game
- Customize your own character
- No more puzzle towers, you walk around the map to explore it
- Guns for hire
- Coop

Weapons
PC gamer has some good weapon information HERE.
IGN has data sheets on the weapons in game for those of you who love numbers, that can be found HERE.
Fishing
- The best way to catch fish is to throw your line out, and slooooowly reel it in.
- You can identfy what fish are in the area by looking at signs posted around, or simply looking at what fish jumps out of the water.
- The way the game seems to currently work with fish is they are always in a specific spot, so if you throw back to that spot… fish.
- Theres is also a specifc quest that needs you to catch a 99 pound fish. He is really hard to catch (I will get specifcs soon). I recommend having some form of an upgraded pole, but otherwise it will take time.
- Sometimes, when the fish are too tough, let them swim out a bit so they get tired.
Guide
Obviously I havent had time to write about the game yet, but I WILL! Stay tuned everyone out there in Hope County!
