Overview
Melee Movement This guide will help you better understand the melee combat of Far Cry 5.First guide I’ve created.
ᴍᴇʟᴇᴇ ᴍᴏᴠᴇᴍᴇɴᴛ
Fists
Fists are the first weapon you obtain in Far Cry 5 and the only weapon that functions with dodging and blocking.
To equip fists you must first holster your weapon[5]
Fist Combat
- Engage
You can perform punches and super punches even when not in stance[LMB][LMB HOLD] - Stance
By holding down right click[RMB] you will enter a combat state, in turn allows for dodging and blocking. - Punch
Punch is a basic attack, does decent damage and is capable of stunning an enemy below heavy tiers. - Super Punch
Super Punch is a more powerful attack, using LMB while holding[LMB HOLD] Your fist will clench even more and gain more power. This can knock out Angels and other enemies for a short period of time, headshots or Brass Knuckles usually kill. - Dodging
In the combat state, pressing down Space will shift your character[WASD] directions.
Dodging DOES NOT make you invincible to any attack and is only useful “once or twice” throughout the entire game. Dodging is the same as your sprint speed. - Blocking
In the combat state, holding down the block key[R] will significantly reduce damage from direct melee attacks.

Melee Weapons
Melee Weapons are either purchased in shops or found around the map, they may also be customized to fit your liking and some have better stats than others.
Melee Weapons function similar to Fists, however, they do not carry dodging or blocking.
Melee Weapons Combat
- Engage
Melee weapons have no stance. swings and super swings are performed with LMB/LMB HOLD. - Throw
You can throw Melee weapons at a distance, by holding down right click[RMB] and LMB.

MELEE MOVEMENT ULTIMATE
Melee Manipulation, Melee Manipulation is what I call ULTIMATE. This is performed when a player super punches/ super swings[LMB HOLD] cancels the melee lounge by switching melee weapons and proceeds to super punch/ super swing again[LMB HOLD] Cycling super attacks will grant bonus speed. Some even claim that it is faster than normal sprint speed.

Loading screens hint that the G key is dodge/ block[forgot] when in reality it is not.
𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨
- Kick Manipulation
The animation that plays during a kick against any object or enemy can be cancelled by tossing grenades, shooting, punching etc. This will also change the Field Of View of active animations. This allows for a stun, following with any given attack. - Blowtorch
The blowtorch will cancel stun animations preventing enemies from knocking you down.
