Keeves’ Beginner Soviet and Wehrmacht Build Orders

Overview

Beginner build orders to get your started. I will try to explain the logic and when you should deviate from the plan. This guide will be updated. Please leave feedback

Considerations

No build order will perfectly suit every situation and match up. A long form build order however can serve as a good reminder of what to have on the field and balanced army compositions. I recommend you watch the excellent video on adapting build orders based on map control here.

This guide is simply to help beginners to offset the load of deciding units so they can focus on maximizing their micromanagement attention. If you are an already strong player(hitting good timings and not forgetting mines and upgrades) you probably won’t gain much from following this guide.

Rules

1. Avoid Squads losses at all costs. Even if you slow down your timings. For 1v1 and 2v2 I recommend using the tactical map or the top right shields to prevent loses. Retreat as soon as you see a fight you can’t win.

2. Ideally use your hotkeys to assist building without looking at your base. F1-F5 select building screens.

3. Mining. You want to mine with spare munitions. This is crucial as Soviets! You have next to nothing to spend your munitions on. Soviets are the mine spam faction.

4. Don’t miss your timings if you can avoid it.

5. If you build a lot of units use them. If you can’t use all the units you build effectively you should build less. You will practice getting more out of your investment and you will not lose as many squads.
