Overview
Pointers on how to fight effectively
Intro – Positioning and vision
First and foremost, if you know there is an enemy coming, take cover in a position that is off to thier side or behind them when they enter.
If you pop up in front of them, they can quickly shoot you down, because they need not move thier mouse much!
Fire without movement is indecisive; if you aren’t supressing the enemy and advancing on them, you are inviting yourself to be flanked as well as you will make little, if any, progress.
Movement without fire is suicide; If you are running towards the enemy without engaging them, you will be swiftlty cut down.
Consider your lines of sight; Can you see two or more places enemies are likely to be coming from? If no, move to a position that you CAN.
Do not sprint in to combat! Doing so will stop you being able to react quickly, so if you know there are hostiles ahead, slow down and be ready to aim.
If you are using a non-thermal weapon, and there are no enemies that you know of nearby, reload when you have less than a third of a magazine remaining; this will give you more ammo for the next encounter.
Squads and units
A squad is a large group of units, however a Unit can be 1-3 people. Stick with your unit, and the unit should try to stick with the squad, if you aren’t then at least try to help your squad.
If you see a friendly that is downed, and you KNOW there are no nearby enemies, try to get them to cover before reviving.
If you know the ARE enemies, give the downed freindly some cover-fire and wait for them to reach you. DO NOT revive outside of cover, snipers and marksmen will pick you off.
Support your support! See a heavy or healer? Guard them as they guard you; whilst they deal with injuries and groups, stop attempted flanks and if needed, put your body between your unaware support and the enemy.
Should you get downed, by the time you are down, your allies should have become aware and be able to kill the hostile, then revive you.
