Item Rarity Guide for I Can't Believe It's Not Gambling GOTY Edition

Item Rarity Guide

Overview

A simple guide to help new players understand the rarity system.

Overview

Edit: Skip to the bottom to see the actual drop rates if you don’t want to read my crappy joke.

There are six rarities in I Can’t Believe It’s Not Gambling. Each rarity will be covered in more detail later.

Common

Uncommon

Rare

Epic

Legendary

Holiday

Common

Common items, are as the name suggests, the most common items in the game. But just how common are they? Who knows!

There are two types of common items for each loot box level: Hats, and skins. Skins apply a texture to the body of the loot box, while hats add a small model on the top of the loot box.

Uncommon

Unlike common items, these items are slightly more rare. You can identify uncommon items because of the green icon, but also because it says the word uncommon. Uncommon items are more rare than common items, but less rare than rare items.

Uncommon items also come in two varieties: Hats and skins.

Rare

Rare items can be a bit misleading, because the name implies that they are rare; however there are three tiers of rarity beyond rare, so they are actually not that rare at all. Through methodical experimentation I have determined with 70% certainty that rare items are more rare than uncommon items but less rare than epic items.

Like common and uncommon items, rare items are available in both hat and skin form.

Epic

Now I know what you are all thinking. “Epic? What does a long boring poem have to do with my sweet sweet loot boxes?” Fear not, for although this tier has a relatively confusing name it works a lot like the other tiers.

Epic items appear to be more rare than rare items and less rare than legendary items. Epic items can easily be identified by their purple color, and the word epic. Epic items come as both hats and skins.

Legendary

Legendary items are extremely rare, and are reportedly very dangerous. Consuming legendary items carries with it a high risk of addiction. Be very careful when handling legendary items.

Legendary items are more rare than epic items and less rare than holiday items. They are available as both hats and skins.

Holiday

Holiday items are the rarest and most coveted quality of items. In fact, holiday items are so rare, that when one is received Santa Claus takes time out of his busy day to fly from the North Pole to site of opening in order to personally deliver a holiday cheer. “Ho, ho, ho!”

Holiday items come hand tailored from Santa’s slaves elves, and are available as hats and skins in a box near you.

Get out there and spend some money! I can’t believe it’s not gambling!

Conclusion

I had a lot of fun writing this guide, and hope it proves helpful to those who wish to know more about the obvious. Please rate, comment, and subscribe to my apple orchard if you would like to support me. Thanks for reading!

Actual Drop Rates

Okay, so I wrote a program to calculate the drop rates of the items. The program works by using an autoclicker to open boxes, then using color to determine which rarity was dropped, and then tallies it. Unfortunately my program ran into an error 5600 samples through, so I might not have enough data. I will run it again later.

I should clarify that so far, I have only run the test with the trash boxes. When I get a chance I will run it again with a different type of loot box.

TLDR;

Here are the drop rates:

Totals at 5600 samples:

(Note: remember that each sample contains four items, so 5600 samples = 22400 items)

Common: 13040 (58.214285714285715%)

Uncommon: 4508 (20.125%)

Rare: 2606 (11.633928571428571%)

Epic: 1124 (5.017857142857142%)

Legendary: 646 (2.883928571428571%)

Holiday: 476(2.125%)
