Notes:
The tips and tactics included in this guide are intended for new players, especially those who haven’t played clicker games before. If you are an old hand at clicker games, then you will be aware of most of the mechanics of this game already; however, the specifics of some areas of it are different to other clicker games.

(If this guide is useful to you, then please rate it upwards.)

Notes:
Ascensions unlock at zone/level 3.
The button to access Ancients is in the top left of the game (the button which looks like a lttle treasure chest).
I suggest ascending as soon as buying new heroes becomes too hard.
Use the stars you get from ascending to buy new Ancients, which will make aspects of your gameplay more powerful, so you can go higher before you ascend again.
New players should be aware that when you ascend you will lose all of your heroes and coins, but the stars will enable you to buy Ancients which will enhance your abilities.

There are five Ancients.
The abilities of the Ancients increase as you level them up (by spending your stars).
However, each time you level up an Ancient, the next level for that Ancient will become more costly.
Ancient of Power
— Increases your global strength.
Ancient of Time
— Increases the time allocated to kill bosses.
Ancient of Wealth
— Increases gold.
Ancient of Dexterity
— Increases the damage of critical clicks for all heroes.
Ancient of Aim
— Increases the chances of global critical clicks for all heroes.

All of the Ancients are worth getting, but here are my preferences for the order of buying:
Ancient of Aim (chances of critical clicks).
Ancient of Dexterity (damage from critical clicks).
Ancient of Wealth (gold).
Ancient of Power (strength).
Ancient of Time (time to kill bosses).
— Obviously, different people will have different preferences for buying Ancients.
You will need to work out which style works best for you.

According to another player, the formula for how stars are awarded is the number of the zone times 1.75, rounded down (thanks to Judgy for that information).
So, for example, if you ascend at level 3, that would be 3×1.75=5.25 stars, rounded down to 5.
Here are my calculations for the first few levels:
Level 3 = 3 x 1.75 = 5.25 stars, rounded down to 5
Level 4 = 4 x 1.75 = 7 stars, no rounding down necessary
Level 5 = 5 x 1.75 = 8.75 stars, rounded down to 8
Level 6 = 6 x 1.75 = 10.5 stars, rounded down to 10
Level 7 = 7 x 1.75 = 12.25 stars, rounded down to 12

Note: The formula may have changed? I tested this by ascending at Level 3-1, and I only got 4 stars (28 Dec. 2016).

Clicks, Critical

Beginners Luck
Get 2 Critical Clicks in one second

Filled with horseshoes
Get 4 Critical Clicks in one second

Notes:
These achievements are very easy to get. After starting the game for the very first time, it took me only a few minutes (5 minutes?) to get all of the Critical Clicks achievements.

The chances of getting critical clicks is increased when you level up some heroes.
Auron is a good hero to to level up to get critical clicks.
If you raise some heroes to a particular level, your chances of getting critical clicks with that hero will increase by a certain percentage.
— Militia, at level 150, critical clicks chances increase by 25%.
— Elborg, at level 100, critical clicks chances increase by 10%.
— Auron, at level 10, critical clicks chances increase by 10%.
— Auron, at level 150, critical clicks chances increase by 10,000%!!!
— Caira, at level 75, critical clicks chances increase by 15%.
— Melantha, at level 75, critical clicks chances increase by 10%.
— Dozan, at level 150, critical clicks chances increase by 15%.

Clicks, General

Scrub
1000 Clicks

Tap Tap Tap
10000 Clicks

Daily Grind
50000 Clicks

Tired Yet?
100000 Clicks

Clicking Sensei
250000 Clicks

Notes:
If you play the game for long enough, you will get these achievements in due course.
It is just a matter of clicking away at the game (except for cheaters and hackers, who are low enough to use auto-click programmes or hack the games’ files).

Clicks, Per Second

Breaking Your Mouse
Click 12 times in one second

Painful Clicks
Click 14 times in one second

How many fingers?
Click 25 times in one second

Click-bot right?
Click 35 times in one second

Notes:
You can simultaneously right-click and left-click to help you get the CPS achievements (thanks to xILe0n for the tip).
I got the 12 CPS achievement by right-clicking and left-clicking simultaneously.
And I got the 14 CPS achievement by right-clicking and left-clicking simultaneously, with as many fingers as I could fit on the mouse (it might have looked odd – but, hey, it worked).
To get the 25 and 35 CPS achievements, I tried using the above tactic as well as enabling the “Frenzy” autoclick ability (which you unlock with the very first Hero, at level 75), but – for me – it didn’t work. If I’m lucky, there will be a “Mega-Frenzy” autoclick ability which can be unlocked later on in the game.
Some people will suggest that players should get an auto-click programme to get the higher CPS achievements – but I don’t cheat in my other games, amd I’m not going to start with this one.

Gold, Hoard

Penny Pincher
Hoard 500 K gold

A Dollar a Day
Hoard 500 B gold

Deep Pockets
Hoard 500 Q gold

For the Hoard!
Hoard 50’000 O gold

Notes:
If you play the game for long enough, you will get these achievements for having money in hand (i.e. the hoarding achievements apply to the in-game coins you currently have, and don’t include any coins you have spent).
When you get near to that level of money, just hold off on buying any more heroes; as well as which you might want to consider selling some of the dropped items instead of using them to upgrade your heroes. Bear in mind that some heroes increase the amount of gold dropped, so you might want to level up those heroes first.

Gold, Receive

For me?
Receive 1000 K gold

A bit much, no?
Receive 1000 M gold

Receive 1000 T gold

Receive 100 # gold

Just take it all!
Receive 100 % gold

Golden Wonder of the World
Receive 100 & gold

Let me pull out my calculator
Receive 1000e68 gold

Notes:
If you play the game for long enough, you will get these achievements for the money you have received overall (i.e. the receiving achievements apply to the in-game coins you currently have, as well as all of the coins you have spent).

Bear in mind that some heroes increase the amount of gold dropped, so you might want to level up those heroes first.

You might want to consider selling some of the dropped items instead of using them to upgrade your heroes.
If a dropped item doesn’t increase your abilities by much, then selling it won’t matter too much (the flip-side of that piece of advice is that incrementally increasing your abilities will incrementally increase your money supply, as you beat your enemies just a little bit faster).
Some dropped items neither increase or decrease abilities (they have yellow text), so you might as well right-click those to sell them.
Just be careful that you might not want to overwrite your epic or legendary items (the game will give you a prompt, for you to decide if you want to replace your epic/legendary item or not), as even though a newly dropped item might provide a better level in one aspect, the other aspects of the epic/legendary item might outweigh the increase of the one aspect, so replacing it might result in you being less powerful overall.
Personally, I pretty much left-click on every dropped item with green text (to increase abilities, and therefore increase money) and right-click on every dropped item with red text (as those decrease abilities) and yellow text (ability neutral), but I stop and compare the abilities of dropped items which are being offered to replace my existing epic/legendary items.
If you take too long in clicking on dropped items, they will just disappear. However, I believe that the vanished items are auto-sold for you.

Most important of all, money-wise, are the treasure chests that randomly appear. Whilst some of them drop items (which is good), most of them contain massive amounts of money.

Best of all, your money supply is continually added to whilst you are offline.

Heroes, Levels

Up and Coming
Level Up Heroes 100 times

On the rise!
Level up Heroes 500 times

Reaching Capacity
Level Up Heroes 2000 times

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop
Level Up Heroes 5000 times

Too Much to Handle
Level Up Heroes 25000

The Sky’s the Limit
Level Up Heroes 50000 times

Notes:
Levelling up heroes costs money, so refer to the “Gold, Receive” section (above) on making money.
Bear in mind that some heroes increase the amount of gold dropped, so you might want to level up those heroes first.

You can level up a hero by clicking on the “Buy” button below the hero’s name.
You can increase the hero by 10 levels by holding down your Shift key when you click on the Buy button, or increase by 50 levels by holding down your Control (Ctrl) key when you click on the Buy button.

To get a lot of levels for heroes, the easiest way is to level up your latest heroes (to make them more powerful, so they’ll earn you more money for further levelling up), and then use your left-over and subsequent cash on levelling up your earliest heroes.
However, be warned that at some stage levelling up your earliest heroes will get to be just as expensive (or close to) as levelling up your latest heroes.
When levelling up heroes gets too hard, then – if you are not close to buying the next hero – you might as well ascend.

Heroes, Upgrades

Army General
25 Hero Upgrades

More Equipment, More Power
50 Hero Upgrades

Roman Centurion
100 Hero Upgrades

Almost for Sparta!
200 Hero Upgrades

Notes:
These achievements are very easy to get. After starting the game for the very first time, it took me less than an hour (maybe 45 minutes?) to get all of the Hero Upgrades achievements.

Upgrades are those dropped items which upgrade the abilities of your heroes.
Just left-click on the ones with green text (to increase your heroes’ abilities).
And right-click on the ones with red text (as they decrease your heroes’ abilities) and yellow text (they are ability-neutral) to sell them.

Kills, Bosses

Triumphant
Kill 10 Bosses

Intimidating
Kill 100 Bosses

Power Hungry
Kill 1000 Bosses

Growing Ego
Kill 10000 Bosses

Your Own Boss
Kill 100000 Bosses

Notes:
If you play the game for long enough, you will get these achievements.
I got the “Kill 100 Bosses” without even getting past level 5, so that means that these achievements can be obtained just by killing the same bosses over and over again, after you ascend each time.

Kills, Monsters

Taste of Blood
Kill 100 Monsters

Massacre
Kill 1000 Monsters

A Mountain of Men
Kill 10000 Monsters

An Ocean of Gore
Kill 100000 Monsters

Millions… of… lives
Kill 1000000 Monsters

Numb to War
Kill 1500000 Monsters

Notes:
If you play the game for long enough, you will get these achievements.

If you are really impatient to get some of these achievements, you could deliberately level up to the point where you can almost kill a boss without clicking on him, but you hold off from killing him just so that you can stay in the pre-boss area and kill lots of ordinary monsters over and over again – but I don’t see much point to doing that, as I think that you would be better off overall by just keeping on levelling up and ascending as often as you can, and then you will get these achievements eventually (and, for the higher achievements, probably more quickly).

General tips: Ascensions

Activate your Ascensions as soon as buying new heroes becomes too hard.
Then use your stars to buy new Ancients, to make aspects of your gameplay more powerful, so you can get to higher levels before you ascend again.
The higher the level you ascend from, the more stars you will get.

I suggest buying Ancients in the following order of preference:
Ancient of Aim (chances of critical clicks).
Ancient of Dexterity (damage from critical clicks).
Ancient of Wealth (gold).
Ancient of Power (strength).
Ancient of Time (time to kill bosses).

General tips: Bosses

If you are finding it hard to beat a boss, you can increase your damage by right-clicking and left-clicking simultaneously.

You can also use your special abilities to beat the bosses (see the “Special abilities” sub-section below).

Otherwise, keep on levelling up your heroes. Concentrate especially on those heroes which can level up to abilities which increase gold revenue, critical clicks, and global strength.

General tips: Critical clicks

Critical clicks give you a great advantage in fighting bosses (as well as versus other enemies).

When levelling up heroes to get their abilities, prioritise on getting to the levels which will give you more, or better, critical clicks.

Also, I strongly suggest that you prioritise buying the critical clicks upgrades with your stars when you ascend.

General tips: Dropped items

Dropped items can increase the properties of your heroes.
Left-click on them to accept the dropped item, and change the properties of your hero.
Right-click on them to sell the dropped item for coins.

Dropped items have prominently displayed coloured text which indicates their properties:
Green text = will upgrade your heroes’ abilities (keep those ones)
Yellow text = makes no difference to your heroes (sell those ones)
Red text = will downgrade your heroes’ abilities (sell those ones)

Sometimes, you may want to sell dropped items, to get money to upgrade your heroes.
If a dropped item doesn’t increase your abilities by much, then selling it won’t matter a lot – however, the flip-side of that piece of advice is that incrementally increasing your abilities will incrementally increase your money supply, as you beat your enemies just a little bit faster.
I recommend not selling any of dropped items which have green text.
However, some dropped items neither increase or decrease abilities (they have yellow text), so you might as well right-click those to sell them. And, of course, sell the red text dropped items, as otherwise they will downgrade your heroes (if you accidentally click a red text dropped item, as I have done, don’t worry too much about it, as you’ll make up for it with some subsequent green text dropped items).
If you are desperate for extra coins, you could sell the lower-grade green text items – but, if you do that, just make sure that you don’t sell any of them that would increase your critical clicks.

You might not want to overwrite your epic or legendary items (the game will give you a prompt, for you to decide if you want to replace your epic/legendary item or not), as even though a newly dropped item might provide a better level in one aspect, the other aspects of the epic/legendary item might outweigh the increase of the one aspect, so replacing it might result in you being less powerful overall.
If you get a prompt asking whether you want to replace a epic or legendary item, make sure you compare the old and new items (especially look at the critical chance and critical damage properties).
[UPDATE: In the end, I found that it wasted too much time comparing dropped items with the epic/legendary items they were to replace, so now I just left-click all dropped items, as long as they have green text. Unless you have a particularly pedantic frame of mind, I suggest that you do the same, and save yourself some stuffing around.]

Basically, my advice is:
1) Left-click on every dropped item with green text (to increase abilities, and therefore increase money).
2) Right-click on every dropped item with red text (as those decrease abilities) and yellow text (ability neutral).
3) Stop and compare the abilities of dropped items which are being offered to replace any existing epic/legendary items. Don’t waste time comparing the abilities of dropped items which are being offered to replace any existing epic/legendary items, as it is just too much stuffing around.

You could stop to read the full text of every single dropped item; however, quite frankly, it’s really not worth wasting your time doing so (you will be wasting enough time just by checking for the colour of the text). So, just remember to left-click on green text items, and right-click on red and yellow text items.

If you take too long in clicking on dropped items, they will just disappear.

General tips: Gold

Some heroes increase the amount of gold coins dropped when you level them up, so you might want to level up those heroes first.

Most important of all, money-wise, are the treasure chests that randomly appear. Whilst some of them drop items (which is good), most of them contain massive amounts of money (which is great).

Be warned – if you take too long in clicking on dropped items or treasure chests, they will just disappear.

I have found that when you are stuck on beating a boss, and you have been dropped back to a pre-boss enemy, you get less gold per click than what you receive whilst you are fighting the boss (even if you lose the boss round); therefore, when I really need more gold to level up a hero, I will enter the boss fight (even though I know I will lose), because I will get money so much faster.
However, the flip-side to that advice is that when you are fighting the pre-boss enemies, you will get dropped items and (rarely) treasure chests. As with much of the game, you have a choice to make – which is all a part of the game’s balance.

You can get more gold by spending your stars on the Ancient of Wealth when you ascend, as that will increase the amount of gold you receive. However, my personal suggestion would be to concentrate on the other Ancients first (see my notes on Ascension in the “General tips” section).

You can sell some of the green text dropped items, instead of using them to upgrade your heroes, but I would recommend not doing that, as it is far more beneficial to keep on upgrading up your heroes. If you want to get more gold that badly, you could just enter a boss fight at the end of a Level.
Naturally, keep on selling (right-click) the red text and yellow text dropped items.

Your money supply is continually added to whilst you are offline; however, I must admit that you don’t get a lot of money after having been off-line for a long time, unlike some other clicker games. When I log back into the game after a day of two of not playing, I expect to have heaps of gold, at least enough to buy the next hero, but I am always disappointed in the amount of gold coins I get.

The “Frenzy” special ability is well worth using to get extra gold.
It is unlocked by Dozan, at level 100.
It gives you rapid autoclicks for a short time (it only lasts for 20 seconds, although it does reset 10 minutes after being used).
I recommend using it with a boss (even if you know you won’t win the battle), as doing so gives you a lot more gold than when you use it with an ordinary enemy.
If you use it in conjunction with the “Frenzy” special ability, which gives you rapid autoclicks for a short time, then you’ll get even more money.
It always surprises me how much gold I get from the Frenzy ability. What a shame that I keep on forgetting to use it – don’t make my mistake on that score.

General tips: Heroes

Heroes level up to thresholds at levels 25, 50, 75, 100, and 150. At each threshold you get an ability.
It’s much easier to level up heroes to 150 if you have obtained the next 7 or 8 heroes after them.

When you level up your heroes, concentrate on those which give:
1) Strength to all heroes (not just to themselves).
2) Critical clicks.
3) Gold.

As soon as you can, level up the following heroes:
Hero (i.e. the very first hero) = At level 75, you get the “Frenzy” special ability (rapidly autoclicks for a short time).
Tsu = At level 100, you get the “Massive strike” special ability (hit enemy once with 100x your click damage within the next 10 seconds).
Auron = At level 150, you get the “True strike” special ability (increases critical chance by 10,000%).
Haylin = Each of the abilities (right up to 150) will increase your percentage of gold received.
Dozan = At level 150, you get the “Gold fountain” special ability (gain 45% of enemy gold on click for a short time).

(Note: There is also another ability called “Gold fountain”, unlocked by Haylin at level 75, but that does not unlock this special ability.)

General tips: Zones

Each Zone has 10 Levels.

Each Level has 10 enemies, with the 10th enemy being a boss.

So, to finish off a Zone requires you to kill 100 enemies, including 10 bosses.
