Intro

Welcome to my guide mercenaries, Here i’ll be showing you the ropes on how to become a good mercenary and be very rich in nuggets. We will be talking about characters, game play, items, tips and tricks.
So lets get started and hope you will enjoy.

The Game

The Vicious circle is a four-player (The mercenaries) versus 1 player (The Monster), first-person shooter. The objective is to collect 75 nuggets and escape via teleport points that spawn around the map all while avoid the dangerous monster that guards them. Game goes on for 5 rounds which means everyone gets a turn at being the monster, the winner gets one star per round who ever has the most stars by the end of all 5 rounds wins.

Nuggets are the game universe’s currency, starsky claims they are worth more than any planets. You can collect Nuggets from nuggets nodes spawned all over the map, killing the monster, doing events that give out nuggets or stealing them from other players using items.

Once you have 75 nuggets the teleport points will spawn and you’ll be able to get out, the catch is though that only one player can leave, so your gonna have to betray your friends and save your butt by any means.

The hud

1. Health bar and Nugget bar.

2. Item Slot.

3. Ability Slot.

4. Weapon and Ammo Meter.

5. Team Table. Left, Players alive, Middle, Monster, and Right Dippers Alive.

Map Events
Maps spawn events that will reward nuggets if you do them, easy way of earning nuggets, help your team out now so you can steal those nuggets from them later.

Nugget Sacks

Nugget Sack simply spawn a target that drops nuggets every time you shoot it, if you destroy you get a lot of nuggets, High health.

Void Eyes
Eyes will spawn out in the air from 4 to 8 eyes at a time, shooting them drops nuggets.

Locking doors
Doors spawn in fixed locations all over the map and will always spawn at that location, you can use doors to block off players and the monsters from getting you or your nuggets.
Press e on the console to close the door. Players and dippers cannot break down the door and must wait until it opens. Monsters like Peggy sue can break down the door with 4 hits with her basic attack or 1 hit from her charge will break it. Doors that are broken remain broken until the next round.

Evac Points

Evac Points are the only way for mercenaries to win the round. Mercenaries and Big monsters can block players escaping by standing on point and knocking them back with melee. This will pause their timer, if they leave the point for a bit their timer will be reset, it takes about 8 seconds to escape. You can also use gadgets such as the shock grenade to drop a player’s nuggets. Dippers cannot block the points.

Map interactions

This is a nugget atm machine, you can “hack” it by pressing E, but it only gives one single nugget for the whole round. Thats it.

Slot Machines

You can gamble your Nuggets to earn more nuggets, Pressing E spents some of your nuggets to the machine for chance of doubling or tripling those nuggets, but there’s a chance you lose your spent nuggets so watch out.

Jump pads

Jump pads give you a jump boost a pre-fixed direction.

Wall Holes.

Look out for these wall holes through out the map, Players, usually the monsters can take a quick shortcut through those to surprise and gank players.

Speed Tunnels

Use these tunnels that quickly move you from one place to another. You can drop decoys, audio mines inside the tunnels. Monsters can also take the tunnels.

Stealth
The Monsters will always be able to see you through walls, there’s only 3 ways to being able to stay hidden from their radar.
1. Crouching keeps you hidden the quickest and is available to you at anytime but doesn’t make you invisible to enemies if your in the same room as they will still see you, crouching also makes you walk slower too.

2. Decoys will keep you hidden the longest and will only show the dummy version of you to the enemies/allies which they have to destroy in order to see you again. you can only have one decoy at a time using another one will replace the older decoy. Same as crouching, monsters can still directly see you.

3. Abilities can keep you hidden too but there is only one ability in game can keep you hidden so far which is Zella’s cloak that gives you invisibility. Only problem with abilities that they are tied to a cool down which can leave you vulnerable at the wrong times.

Mercenaries

The mercenaries are a faction that is hired by Starsky to collect nuggets from the most dangerous parts in the galaxy. Each Mercenary has their unique weapon, melee weapon, one ability, a double jump and can hold one item.

List of mercenaries so far:

Blitz

Blaster– A good all-round weapon, its fast, good damage, okay firing rate and reload.

Blink– Lets you teleport a short distance in the direction the camera was facing. Good for making quick escapes or getting an item before another person does. You can blink through other players and monsters BUT you can’t blink through objects so if a barrel or ledge is in front of you then you’ll get stopped early. 6 second recharge.

Tips: You walk and run slightly faster than the others. Try to trick monsters with blink by going one way then blink in a different direction. Try to run up and when the monster charges blink though it. You can also blink up or down.

Captain Boom

Assault Rifle– Like any assault rifle in other games, it’s fast firing and medium clip size. Low damage but can be deadly if you use the damage booster item.

Defense matrix– Gives you instant invulnerability for a bit. This can be very useful in blocking hits from dippers so they can’t take your body, tank Peggy sue’s charge but you will still be knocked back. Since its more of a defensive ability, it won’t help you move or escape faster, You cannot reload but you can still shoot and run. Defense matrix doesn’t prevent you from being stun, knock back nor being vacuumed. Lasts 3 seconds and has a 3 second recharge.

Tips: Make to always reload before using defense matrix when fighting dippers, that way you can shoot and avoid being hijacked by them. You can run through map hazards/lava without dying while matrix is on.

Cr45h & Burn

Plasma cannon– High damage, area of attack. Good for getting clusters of nuggets or dealing with dippers and the monster. Slow projectile and reload speed though, pumps 3 rounds each time and takes 3 pumps for a full clip.

Eject– An escape ability that gives you a boost of speed and jumps away from danger. Since it gives you an extra jump, you can double jump then eject to get a really good boost and reach faraway platforms. It’s hard to control since its pushing you forward where the camera faces. Lasts for 3 seconds and has a cool down of 6 seconds.

Tips: Always make sure to reload after shooting even if its just one shot due to having a really slow reload.

Zella

Energy Blast– Fires Energy pellets in a tight spread, makes great for short to medium range but okay at long range. Great for blasting away monsters. Each pellet does low damage so you have to hit every pellet to do a lot of damage.

Cloak– instant invisibility, enemies/allies can’t see you but you can still take damage during the duration. Great for making a run for it and you can sprint too. Lasts for 3 seconds, takes 7 seconds to recharge.

Tips: Trick players with your cloak by running one way then cloak and run in other direction, be unpredictable. When running away from the monster try to cloak then find and crouch in a hiding spot and wait for the monster to pass.

Monsters

The “Monsters” are the other faction that is lead by a strange eyeball creature as in-game describes it as “????”. He sends Monsters like the chicken Peggy sue to destroy anyone who enters areas loaded with nuggets. Monsters have a powerful weapon, 2 abilities, can double jump and can see players through walls.

At the start of the match you will spawn here and anyways respawn here as well.

List of Monsters: (only one so far as of now)

Peggy Sue

Health: 2600
Walking Speed: 775
Respawn time: 10 seconds
The weapon is a giant tentacle coming out of Peggy sue’s torso, swings back and forth, side to side, can hit multiple players.

Self-Frying Egg– Lob throws a Big egg that direct hit players if it connects and when hits a surface it cracks open leaving a damaging slowing pool. Can hold up to 3 eggs, which egg takes about 3 seconds to recharge.

Charge– Do a powerful charge in the direction you are facing, the closer players are at the center of the cross hair the more damage it does than the edge. You can’t change directions once you start charging.
4 seconds Cool down: if you don’t hit anything.
5 seconds Cool down: if you hit a player.
8 seconds Cool down: Breaking a door.
10 seconds Cool down: Killing a player.

If peggy sue dies, she will give a lot of nuggets and goes to a small chicken form that can only take 1 hit, if you run away and hide long enough you can turn back into your monster form instead of waiting on a spawn time.

Tips: Audio mines can be a pain make sure if you have to eggs, throw on at a mine to destroy it. A good combo is to double jump then aim your camera and charge, strike from below or above. If its a long way to walk, try using charges as it takes only 3 seconds in between so you can cover more ground. Don’t be scare to retreat and heal, hide on top of the roofs and such.

Dippers
When players die, they aren’t out of the game just yet because upon death, you turn into a dipper. They have good mobility and range, unlimited lives but low actual walking speed and health

They use two tentacles to fight, you can hit Peggy sue for a speed boost, if you hit a player enough, you’ll fill the player’s health bar with a purple bar once its full, you will hijack their body and have another chance of winning but beware other dipper will do the same. takes 4 hits to hijack a body, it resets after awhile.

The first ability allows you grapple any surface/player and pull yourself. This counts as a hit towards players. low cooldown.

Second ability lets you short jump dash forward, good for making yourself hard to hit.

Dippers have a respawn time of 6 seconds.

All Monsters can see players through walls unless they are crouching or using a decoy.
Dippers also spawn in the monster area too.

Tips: Use hit and run tactics, hit then swing. Your Second ability lets move in a different direction, use this to swing mid air then dash the other way to surprise players or to change directions.

Gadgets

Gadgets are items that spawn at nodes across the map that players can pick up and use against other players or monsters, Monsters cannot use gadgets. All gadgets have a respawn time, some will spawn at the start of the match others will spawn late game. you can only carry one item at a time.

List of all Gadgets:
Shock Grenade

Lob Throw a grenade that shocks anyone in its radius, useful for stealing nuggets from players who are trying to escape via teleport or use it on monsters to stop them to a crawl. Players who are shocked and drop their nuggets can’t pick up their lost nuggets for a short while. A good way of stunning Peggy Sue’s Charge.

Audio mine

Throw out a mine in front of you, anyone that’s near the mine will greatly stun and drop their nuggets. You can shoot the mine to destroy it. you can have multiple mines out and sticks to just about anything. Mine last about 20 to 30 seconds

Tips: Throw on points to surprise players trying to winning, or Throw then shoot at it, to make it explode and stun early.

Decoy

Deploy a look-alike dummy of you, keeps you hidden and monsters/players can only see the decoy through walls and not you until they take out the decoy. You can only have one decoy out at a time, Great for staying hidden from the monster. Decoys last about 30 to 40 seconds. Moving it or shooting will destroy the decoy.

Tips: Toss it into hard to reach places such as on top of a roof, the spawn area, or like in a corner of the map.

Healing Beacon

Spawns a Big Juicy Turkey that heals players in an area for a while. Only monsters except for dippers can regenerate their health, so this is a great way to heal off those monster attacks.

Port-a-Pal

Throw out a device that will activate once it hits a surface and emits a green aura that covers a small area, After a second anyone who is in or touching the area will be teleport to the map’s teleport spot. Every map has one spot where all teleports go to every time. Sticks to Monsters and other players.

Tips: You can bait monsters then throw it and watch it teleport them out of there, giving you time. Use it on players as well to teleport out of danger or out of the escape points.

Damage boost

Activating this will triple your damage for a certain period of time. Great for taking down dippers and the monster.

Tips: While this power up is on, you can take down nugget sacks and monsters way quicker.

Vacuum

Using this will start sucking out nuggets from other players or picking up nuggets on the ground in an area in front of you. This will not collect nuggets from nugget nodes, you have to break them first. Great for stealing nuggets from other players on the escape teleporter trying win. You do not collect from players if you’re capped at the max of 75.

Tips: when hitting the end game, grab this and use it on players on points trying to leave.

Cosmic Chaos

This will pick a random effect that will affect everyone globally
1. Slows down everyone.
2. Everyone gets teleport to the map’s teleport spot.
3. Shuffles everyone’s nuggets and equally give them all out back.
4. Fog rolls in blinding everyone.

You can still see the icons for the evac points and danger warnings, but not other players or pick ups without getting in close.

Tips: Its random every time, use when you got nothing to lose or trying to stop a player from winning.

Awards and Medals

When a round ends, you earn a round star, awards and exp.
The list below shows awards that you can earn and how to earn.
(x) means the number of times you did the certain thing, for example, Dealing X damage

C O C K Blocker- Killed someone halfway to escaping.

From Downtown- Possess someone just before using the Evac Zones.

Gadgeteer- Used X gadgets.

Harvester- Collected X nuggets from zits. (Nugget nodes)

Over Easy- Dealt X damage with Self frying eggs.

O.G (original)- You never got hijacked by a dipper.

Oh Yeah!- Destroyed X doors.

Quick Exit – Used the Evac Zone the moment its available

Shutdown – Killed a Mercenary with Max Nuggets. (75)

Sole Survivor- Be the last survivor on the team and win.

Something Borrowed- Win a round with another person’s body.

Steamroller- Killed X mercenaries with a charge.

The Better Part of Valor- Crouched for X seconds.

Tasting Menu- Dealing X damage with melee attacks.

Unflappable- Health never dropped below 50%.

Tips and info

This section will just some quick summary and tips for this game.

-Everyone in this game (Mercs/Monsters) can double jump.

– Make sure to knock them out of the circle with your melee weapon, use shock grenades, audio mines and vacuums at teammates on the escape points trying to steal a victory from you. This will make them drop their nuggets. Weapons will not work on your teammates.

-Team work can be a good thing because together you can help each other take down the monster and collect nuggets together. Throw mines or nades to stun the killer and help your friends get away, drop down those healing turkeys.

-Use decoys as often to keep yourself hidden but beware as players and monsters can knock them down.

-If your being chase by the Monster don’t be afraid to run, hide and crouch, monsters cannot see you through walls while being crouched so pick a good spot to hide.

-you can spray by pressing Z and for emote wheel press C.

-Monsters are too big to inside small spaces where you can fit. great for getting away but watch out for dippers they can go just about anywhere.

-Dippers can hit peggy sue for a speed boost that lasts 22 seconds and refreshes on hit.

-Using melee can help save bullets when collecting nuggets so you don’t have to reload when danger comes in.
