Overview
Learn how to make you analog controller work.
Basics
Thunderwheels has native support for most common controller types and was tested using:
– Original branded XBox 360 ® wireless & XBox One ® controllers
– Play Station ® 3 & 4 controllers
– Steam controller
Since Steam client is interfering on how the game receives the input we have created this guide in order to by-pass it and make sure the game receives the input directly from windows drivers.
XBox, PS3, PS4 analog controller will work, but Steam Controller analog stick will not work since it requires us to integrate Steam API. At this moment if you want to use the Steam Controller then you must use the DPad.
How to configure
Just in the case you have the Controller Configuration Support activated globally in the Steam Client which I think it is the case since you are reading this guide you must turn it off in the game configuration.
How to do it ? go to Library in the Steam client, right mouse click on Thunderwheels then click on
Properties:
Setting Global Steam Input to “force off” will make the game receive the input directly and the analog stick (plus analog triggers in xbox/ps4 controller) should now work.
Final note
As I said before, if you don’t have the Controller Configuration Support activated globally in the Steam Client then there is no need to mess with the game configuration but turning it on/off will affect you other games in your library.
