Classes, weapons and more

Overview

Everything you need for a fresh start in this II WW Valve Game.

Intro

In a cold Winter day, after sleeping 13 hours, I woke up and decided what to do with my life, nothing came up, then just thought about making a guide.

Welcome to the small world of Day of Defeat: Source! A massively multiplayer first person shooter, based in the ll World War, the most horrible war of all times, in which I guess most of us lost uncles, grandfathers, grandmas, and people from that generation but that’s not the point.
This game focuses a conflict between TWO teams/countries (like TF2): The United States Of America (Allies Army) and Germany aka ‘Nazi Team’ (Axis Wermacht).

The main point of the game is eliminate the enemy team and capture their flags aka points, some servers may have different game modes. Most of the flags can be captured by at least 1 person from a team but One or two points may/have to be captured by at least 2 people from a team.

Type of soldiers (Classes)

There are 6 different kinds of soldiers in this game, each have different weapons and different habilities, these classes are:

● Assault
● Support
● Rifleman
● Sniper
● Machinegunner
● Rocket

Each class (excluding the assault) have a shovel for Axis and a knife for Allies as melee weapons.
Each class (excluding the rocket, rifleman and support) have a pistol, Colt 1911 for Allies and a P38 for Axis teams, perfect for close combat if you run out of ammo.

Below basic information about each class.

Δ ASSAULT

Equipped with a Thompson rifle (Allied) or a MP40 (Axis) as a primary weapon, the assault class is mainly used to, capture flags, prevent the enemy from doing so and work alongside the support soldier to face the enemies and take them down from close combat. Fun thing: you can actually fist your enemies using the right click since this class doesn’t have a shovel/knife. This class is also equipped with 1 Frag(Allied)/Stick(Axis) grenade to easily take down machinegunners, rockets and other soldiers from the enemy team and a smoke grenade for blocking the enemy’s visibility. Be careful with grenades since they will explode in your hands if you don’t release them after 5 seconds of firing.

Δ SUPPORT

Equipped with the BAR rifle (Allied) or the Stg44 (Axis) as a primary weapon, as it’s name says this class brings support to other soldiers, mainly the assault class when facing the enemy in close combat, can also do the sniper’s job when switching the BAR or the Stg44 to semi-automatic mode (right click) to easily take down enemies from far. This class is also equipped with 2 Frag (Allied)/Stick (Axis) Grenades to help other soldiers from your team to easily take down machinegunners, rockets and others from the enemy team. Be careful with grenades since they will explode in your hands if you don’t release them after 5 seconds of firing.

Δ RIFLEMAN

Equipped with the M1 Garand (Allied) or the k98k (Axis) as main weapon, this class alongside the sniper is mainly used to take down enemies from far, each of the rifles mentioned above can be zoomed to do a similar job as the sniper (be careful because you get slower when zooming these) or can also be used in mid/close combat since you can easily kill an enemy with one or two shots from these weapons (depends if you have a good aim without zoom of course). This class is also equipped with a Grenade Rifle which is perfect for taking groups of enemies in small areas. Keep in mind this class doesnt have frag/stick grenades but the grenade launcher

Δ SNIPER

Equipped with the Springfield (Allied) or the k98 sniper (Axis) as main weapon, this class works well alongside the rifleman to help the assault and support classes to take enemies from far, these weapons have to be zoomed for an accurate shot, both these snipers are the worst weapons you can use for mid/close combat since they don’t have a crosshair unlikely the M1 Grand and the k98k. Keep in mind this class doesn’t have any kind of explosives

Δ MACHINEGUNNER

Equipped with the .30 cal (Allied) or the MG42 (Axis), this class goes perfect alongside the rocket to attack and easily take down enemy forces, since each of these machine guns and both rocket launchers are the most powerful and heavy weapons in the game. Mainly used to cover the rest of the team while they’re attacking, this class is perfect to stay or ‘camp’ close to the enemy’s spawn and cover the flags, can also be used to shoot from far, but be careful since you can always hurt your teammates and even kill them since this gun is truly powerful, one or two shots and anyone who has been hit will be dead. As every powerful weapon, both these machine guns have their pros and cons, the bad thing is that to shoot these weapons you need to deploy them in the floor or any other place like a box, a rock, a table, etc while you can get shot/stabbed in the back without noticing the enemy since once you deploy the weapons they have a small range to shoot, the good part is that these weapons can also be shot without deploying, but that will get you tired and you won’t be able to run for some seconds so this isn’t recommended. Keep in mind this class doesn’t have any kind of explosives

Δ ROCKET

BOOM! To sum up the last class and one of my favourites, the rocket. Equipped with the Bazooka (Allied) or the Panzerschreck (Axis), this class is also used a support same as the machinegun to cover your team and defend flags from the enemy, both these rocket launchers are perfect to take enemies in big/small areas (especially snipers and machinegunners) and prevent the enemy from coming out of their spawn/coming into yours. Both these weapons can’t be shot if they are not in your shoulder, to shoot them, right click, aim and shoot (be careful because this makes you slower). This class is also equipped with a C96 SMG for Axis and a M1 carbine for Allied which are perfect for close combat since you can’t use your rocket launcher for obvious reasons. Keep in mind this class doesnt have grenades

That’s pretty much the basic information you should know about each class, scroll down for weapons info.
