Overview
So After a long time of having troubles with lag in ultra-high sieges (and sometimes in battles), I decided to go into the shogun user doc files’ , noticed that shogun 2 almost has the same problem as empire total war, (that being the video memory is set at 0), this guide’ll hopefully help you fix it, if you don’t know how too……
The Fix
1st Go To C:Users*InsertYourUserNameHere*AppDataRoamingThe Creative AssemblyShogun2scripts
1.5 the file you need is the preferences.script.txt file, you’ll have to edit it
2nd you have to find this: “gfx_video_memory” so press control and f at the same time, then type that in the search bar
3rd there should be a zero next to it, change that to this: 429496729 (its 4 gigs in video memory, which is the max that shogun can use or register)
4th your done, dont forget to save
5th (a bonus not the fix mandatory)
within the file. you can change the auto-resolve chance to either be in your favor or in your enemies
to do this: do the same search technique that you did earlier to find this: autoresolve_difficulty
change the number besides that to either a positive number (like 1 to be in your favor) or negative number like this: -1
the higher the number increases your favor in auto resolve so a 10 put right there would mean you’d win everytime, a -10 you put there instead would mean that would *lose* everytime in the auto resolve.
(same goes with the campaign one similarly, just minus the influence in the auto resolve)
((so if you set the game to legendary before you did this, the game believes that it is the default legendary, but when you load a campaign up, you will see that your using your modified version))
(((now im not sure if you’d still receive the harder dif achievements if you do this or not, will try to get the legend achievement with this to confirm)))
(edit: it works for the legendary achievements, so if your having trouble you could do this)
