Overview
For players that are insane enough to want more of a challenge, or for players lacking controllers/joysticks but still want as much of a spaceship experience as possible.Or for players that are too lazy to take out their mouse like me.Below are my keyboard configurations for controlling the ship without a mouse.If you have any suggestions for better controls, feel free to leave it down in the comments.Note that you have to turn mouse sensitivity to 0 or it will not work (I don’t know the details but I will share a screenshot of the final settings).
Control Configurations: Movement
Let’s just get into it.
Options –> Controls –> Customise Controls.
Pitch And Yaw*
Yaw Left – Num 4
Yaw Right – Num 6
Pitch Up – Num 8
Pitch Down – Num 5
(Like WASD.)
Boost**
Change from Shift to F (or other convenient key).
*Remember to adjust sensitivity settings of Pitch, Yaw and Roll, key controls make your ship go out of control way faster.
**May have been due to sticky keys.
Control Configurations: Combat
Firing
Primary Fire – Right Ctrl
Secondary – Backslash
Weapons And Devices
Next Primary – Num 7
Next Secondary – Num 9 (You don’t need previous weapon, just cycle through them.)
Use Device* – R
Use Consumable* – G
Next Device* – C
Next Consumable* – X
Lock Target – Enter Key (Numpad)
*I don’t remember the original controls, I may have edited these but it might not be necessary.
Remember to change your mouse sensitivity to 0.
Configurations Complete
Now that your controls are configured, you should be able to play the game without a mouse. Expect your accuracy to disappear entirely and a full hour of nausea after a gaming session (if you’re bad at space movement like me).
