Finding a populated online server for Battlefield 4™

Finding a populated online server

Overview

A short guide for finding servers with people playing, and avoiding player count spoofing.

First things first:

Do not use the quickmatch button. You are guaranteed to never find a populated match with it.

Finding the servers

When you go to the server browser in-game you may notice that most of the servers look fairly populated, but when you join them no one is playing. Many servers spoof their player counts to make it look like people are playing when they aren’t.

Thankfully there’s a workaround to this.

Go to [link], sign in using your EA (origin) account, and then go to Multiplayer > Server Browser. The player counts will still be spoofed, but you can see exactly how many players are on a server by clicking on a server and the button that says “View full server page” to the right, and scrolling down to the live scoreboard. (no image attached just in case steam doesn’t like me showing player names)

Click the “Join server” button and BF4 will launch and connect you to that server. Note that Origin must be running on your PC otherwise the game won’t launch and Battlelog will tell you to open origin.

Conquest Large is the most popular mode, but maybe you can find other modes with players.

I hope this guide helps you with finding servers.

Some other stuff

Q: It takes forever to join a game, how do I speed it up?
A: If you have an SSD, install BF4 on it. It’ll make a huge difference in your loading time.

Q: Can you view true player count from the server list?
A: There’s probably a chrome plugin out there for that. Try Better Battlelog (discontinued) or look for others.
Update: try this [link]

If you get kicked by punkbuster, follow this link [link]
Click “add a game,” select Battlefield 4 and specify the game’s install location

I’ll update this with more questions probably FAMOUS LAST WORDS LOL
