Overview
Hiya!First of all this has also been posted in the BF4 Discussions, but to help more people and to make it clearer what actually has been posted I will post it here! My friends and I have been having some problems with BF4, it was working fine 2 days ago like all of you guys then suddenly stopped working. Some of us had the problem with the CD-Key, others had Problems with Battlelog booting. I know its a bit frustrating, and if I make you more frustrated because these fixes don’t work I am sorry.I hope these fixes work, anyways have all of yourselves a good day!
Insert CD-Key Issue
Battlelog booting upon game boot Issue
Here an Image won’t suffice, but basically upon pressing “Start Game” in steam it will boot origin like normal, but it will then boot google Chrome / Internet Explorer (depending on your default browser). This is very frustrating because if you go to settings and turn off plugin boot and click save it just turns it back on immediately after you clicked save.
Insert CD-key Fix
I am not sure if this works but it is worth a try!
So then basically take your key code (all the digits not the first 5), and put them into the menu that pops up upon booting the game.
I kinda know this works as before you were unable to open game properties, or click repair, but last morning you could, so maybe something has changed and you can now manually insert the key.
Battlelog Fix
Before you do this please close the browser version of BF4 (battlelog).
It will open “verify integrity of game files” in steam so do not worry about that, you might need to minimize some tabs to find it as it will not come to the front of your screen. Follow it through, and after that is done;
It will soon after boot, and say in a steam installer thing “Installing Battlefield 4 Step 1 out of 3”, it will also prompt to reinstall punkbuster, do not worry just follow through that. It should say punkbuster has installed with no issue, and the game will boot.
For some reason clicking boot on origin fixes it, while booting on steam brings it to battlelog.
Next time you would like to boot that game, do not use origin, boot through steam.
Have Fun!
