Red Faction Guerrilla Steam Edition Guide

Guerrilla Actions for Red Faction: Guerrilla Steam Edition

Guerrilla Actions

Overview

A look at the 104 guerrilla actions required to complete the Revolutionary achievement – with an emphasis on radio missions.

Introduction

There are a grand total of 104 unique guerrilla actions in the game. Most of the actions (76 of them) can easily be found by viewing the ingame map. After liberating a sector, all the missions within it disappear, excluding Demolitions Master and Transporter. But fear not! After completing the storyline, every mission reappears and can be done an infinite amount of times. At this point you’ll know if a mission has already been completed if its marker on the map is very dim as opposed to a bright and vibrant green color. The tricky ones are the 28 seemingly random radio missions, so chances are, if you’re missing some actions… it’s these. More detailed information on them is available further down in the guide.

Here’s a quick breakdown of all 104 guerrilla actions:

Radio Missions

There are a total of 28 radio missions in the game. Similar to other guerrilla actions, once a sector is liberated, all unfinished missions will become inactive until the story is completed. Radio mission will not spawn if: another mission is currently active, the alert level is higher than yellow, or there hasn’t been 2 minutes of “downtime”. (out and about not really doing anything)

There’s 4 types of radio missions:

EDF Assault
Defend a structure from waves of attacking EDF troops.
These assaults become available once the EDF control of their respective sector drops below a predefined amount. Once control is low enough, these missions will trigger when the player is in the general vicinity of the assault point.

Interception
Steal a courier ‘s data by destroying their vehicle or following them until they stop.
These missions are available as soon as a new game is started and trigger when around the area of its spawn location. Unlike other guerrilla actions, these can only be completed one time. (Meaning they’ll repeat until they have been done.)

Convoy: Destroy
Destroy all the vehicles in a convoy.
I only managed to get 4 of the 9 convoys to spawn before finishing the game. (Whether it’s by design, a bug, or just plain bad luck…) Convoys don’t require the player to be in any specific location to spawn but rather a certain ingame time of day; however, it’s worth noting that after completing the story, the convoy closest to the player has higher precedence regardless of the time. So when doing these post-story, ensure you are far enough away from any EDF Assaults while remaining close to the desired convoy’s spawn point.

Convoy: Hijack
Steal an escorted EDF vehicle by killing the driver or causing enough damage to it.
These follow the same rules and conditions as the destroy convoys above.

Conclusion

This guide was intended to point people in the right direction rather than be a step by step walkthrough for every guerrilla action. I focused mainly on the radio missions because the other actions seem pretty straightforward. However, if it’ll help to go into more detail about anything, let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate.
