A short and simple guide on how to rebind the walk button for both Metro games.

WALK KEYBIND – How To Rebind It

There is a WALK button in both Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux, however the keybind itself is not present in the keybind menu which is why many players are not aware it even exists.

By default the WALK keybind is X and this simple guide will show you how you can bind it to whichever keybind you want.

In order to rebind the key we need to get to the user.cfg ini file which is located in the hidden %appdata% folder.

1. Hold down the WINDOWS key on your keyboard and press R.
2. Type %appdata% and hit ENTER.
3. You will be in the ROAMING folder.
4. Back out of that folder and go into LOCAL > 4A GAMES.
5. Enter the folder for Metro Last Light and open up user.cfg file with Notepad.
6. Find bind accel kX and replace the X keybind with whichever keybind you wish.
7. Once you are done, save the file.

I personally have the WALK keybind set to LEFT ALT. In user.cfg it looks like this;

bind accel kLMENU

You can do this for Metro 2033 too by going to its respective folder.
