Overview
This steel sword requires no crafting nor spending any of your hard earned orens. However it does require a bit of luck – don’t worry I managed to get this on my first try in 4 of my 5 playthroughs (last one required me to reload my save to reset the loot drop). This sword out classes any and all swords found in chapter 1 – even does almost the same damage as ” Ultimatum ” steel sword available only in dark mode difficulty.
Stats
BEST LOCATION
” Espadon ” – This sword can be found in the guards quaters on the east side of flotsam square ( where the hanging took place and the entrace is near the herbalist shop ). I recommend you save before entering the building and hope for the best.
HIGH RISK LOCATION
I really do not recommend trying this location as it requires you to clear out the cave from all enemies before you could check the chest for it’s contents. It’s the cave for Melina’s quest ( right behind you once you escape the first attack from scoia’tel near the harbour ). More so the fact that in all my 4 playthroughs I always got the sword from the guard quarters. If the chest does not have the sword you have to reload your previous save and do it all over again …
enhanced version vs standard
You can find Espadon in ALL your runs regardless of which game you have, be it enhanced or standard version. Do keep in mind all overpowered random drop weapons are removed from the PC Enhanced Version. However in the standard version you can still be lucky and find EXTREMELY op weapons. Here’s a sword diagram for example.
This sword diagram can be found in the asylum in Act 1 or bought from the mysterious merchant in act 2 (Iorveth path) for 1876 orens. Also the drop rate on the extremely op weapons are very inconsistent so if you have the standard version don’t waste your time re-rolling the loot.
