Performance and mouse lag improvements for Unreal II: The Awakening

Performance and mouse lag improvements

Overview

If you’re on Windows 10 like me and have modern hardware that’s already decades ahead of this game’s requirements, you might be surprised to find out that performance is not good enough and something is slightly off with your mouse movement, like it’s a bit laggier than it should be. Here’s how to fix it in a few clicks.

Download D3D8 to D3D9 wrapper

This thing is a roundabout to make your game work as it should, all you need to do is go to this site[github.com] and download d3d8.dll by clicking on it, you can see it on the screenshot.

Drop the wrapper to the System game folder

Go to Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonUnreal II The AwakeningSystem and drop the d3d8.dll file there. That’s it. Now your game runs as it should and feels much better.
