Overview
This is a simple tutorial to make the game work in Windows 7 (Maybe 8 as well. I haven’t tried on Windows 8 but it should work on it as well)
Changing Compatibility mode to play this game on Windows 7
As the users of Windows 7 and 8 will already know the game doesn’t launch, instead it simply says to use a later version of windows than Windows 98 SE, to fix this do the following:
Right click The Office game in steam and select “Properties”, on the properties window click the “Local files” tab and click on “Browse Local Files…” Button.
Once the folder opens, right click TheOffice.exe and select “Properties”. In the properties window look for a tab called “Compatibility”, click that. In the compatibility tab put a check mark in the first box from top titled “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”. In the drop down menu just below this select “Windows XP SP3”. Press “Apply” and “Okay” buttons to close this and close the folder.
After this you should start the game normally from steam and it should start without any problems.
