Hey everyone Neppy here bringing you a guide for Kane & Lynch: Deadmens online mode in 2021. I’ve seen guides on this topic that are confusing, unprofessional and just lazy in every sense of the word. So I’m here to bring you a easy to understand guide, with pictures so you can finally experience this games online mode in all it’s glory!
Introduction
Hey everyone! In this guide I’m going to be teaching you how to get online and play a Fragile Alliance match in Kane & Lynch: Deadmen in 2021. I’ve seen a few guides that try to explain this but are just too sloppy. I’ve had the issue of getting online myself and this method I’m going to be showing you here today is the one I used. At the end of this guide I’ll be leaving multiple links of where you can find players like myself who’d love to play a Fragile Alliance sometime so be sure to look out for that 🙂
Method To The Mayhem
So firstly, there is the issue of Games For Windows Live (GFWL). It’s a very pesky and old platform that used to act as a storefront for Microsoft as well as a way of playing online. Many games at the time did actually utilise this, for example GTA 4. But since it was discontinued back in 2014 it’s been nothing but a nightmare with all the games it ran with. Instead of hating it, we’re going to work with it. Here’s how.
For this to work, you will need…
1) Kane & Lynch: Deadmen (duh)
2) An internet connection
3) An Xbox Live account which you can make here – [link] (you can use one you already have if you have one)
4) A lot of patients.
That’s all! So lets get into the steps.
1) Launch Deadmen and be met with this screen.
Press the second option. We’re going to want to do this to get the latest, and best possible version of GFWL running with the game, we will not have to do this every time we launch the game though. Once we’ve done it that one time we can click the first option in future.
2) Click yes, agree and next to everything you see. I wouldn’t normally recommend this but I can assure you, you will not be consenting to giving ISIS or hackers your bank details. I just saved you much reading.
3) Now we wait. GFWL takes it’s time. Seriously. It’s slower than nans gag reflexes or some other gross joke. So go and make a drink or something whilst you wait 🙂
4) Now just launch the game as normal. Some of these steps I can’t actually show you now because I’ve already done it and can’t seem to trigger it again. But that’s ok! It’s only really a setup process like the one you just did it’s nothing too important.
Just skip past everything to the menu you see above.
5) Once you’ve made it past all that menu crap, press the HOME button on your keyboard. The HOME button is next to your Num Pad which is on the far right of your keyboard. Can you see it? Now look to the left, you’ll see 6 keys. The middle key on the top row should be your HOME button. Press it and you should be greeted with this menu, you gonna wanna press ‘Sign in’. Use the arrow keys to navigate this menu.
6) On this page here, just enter the details of your Xbox Live account. Something to note is that your password may say it’s 6 characters long. It isn’t so don’t worry, it’s just an odd glitch that occurs.
7) If all your credentials are correct then you should get a pretty nice menu that says GFWL is going to update, do you accept and all of that stuff. Click yes to it all. Yes, agree, next do it all and GFWL will update allowing you to log into your account. Sadly I cannot get a screenshot of this menu and I don’t want to leave this step without an image, so here’s this one.
That’s my face reveal for anyone wondering what I look like 🙂
8) Now we wait…Again… In all seriousness this update/install that GFWL is going to do is actually VERY, VERY slow. You may think that it has frozen, and you may be tempted to quit the install, but it is not frozen or anything. Just wait it out.
9) The game should either close, or take you back to Deadmen. From here you can now sign in and out of Deadmen at your leisure and play online! But where can you find people to play with? Well in the last section of this of this guide, you will find multiple links to our community pages filled with many like-minded people with the same hardcore feelings for this game as you have. They’re always willing to play or just up for a chat. Be sure to check it out and join! 🙂
