Forging is predictable- How to easily forge perfect Divine gear.

Overview

Did you know… That forging is predictable.

Preface

The guide assumes that the reader has already tried out forging and is somewhat familiar with it. This guide will be most useful to those in Dream of the Demon(NG++), as from this point on Divine Graces will start dropping.

Forging for a specific Grace and Inheritable

  • 1) Start forging some cheap Divine Weapons/Armor and take note of what Grace and Inheritable you get. Add 1 Divine Fragment when forging! More is unnecessary!
  • 2) Keep forging until you get the Grace and Inheritable you want.
  • 3) Then having taken note of how many divines you had to forge; WITHOUT LEAVING THE BLACKSMITH quit the game/return to title.
  • 4) Load your save and forge that many divines minus one and then forge again; but this time with the Weapon/Armor you want with that Grace and/or (non)Inheritable. Use 10 Divine Fragments for maximum chance at a Divine(optional).

This works for other rarities as well!

Here is something I crafted earlier with this method(56x forges to get the Grace and NonInheritable that’s a lot of materials without this method).

    Forging for Special Effects

Special Effects are 100% predictable when continuously forging just one item. HOWEVER, Starred Special Effects may be rerolled(not always) within their tier if you changed the item being forged after starting.

Special Effects of the same group cannot appear twice on an item, and thus can break this trend of predictability.

This is mostly when an item has an implicit damage Special Effect which is, from my experience, more commonly the case with ranged weapons.

    Explanation

There is a pregenerated list of both Graces and Inheritable for Weapon and Armor of each Rarity. This is stored in the Savegame. Essentially what we are doing by forging is removing undesired Graces and Inheritables Sets from this list and then crafting the only desired one we want on the gear we want.

A new set of Grace and Inheritable is generated each time we remove a set and appended to the end of the list.

    Grace Inheritance

From Dream of the Demon on, you may start to see a new green Special Effect, Grace Inheritance.

Soul matching this item to another will change to this new Grace. Keep in mind this Special Effect is somewhat rare and should be used with forethought, as it will potentially save a lot resources when trying to forge the perfect gear.
