Overview
The Underworld is the post-post-game Dungeon for Nioh 2. It’s rather reminiscent of the Abyss from the first Nioh, but does have a few differences. Let’s dig in!
Introduction
Welcome to Yomi, the Underworld, the place where weeping souls come to die.
The Underworld unlocks once you have completed Dream of the Wise, and unlocked Dream of the Nioh, New Game ++++.
The Underworld is the final layer of Nioh 2’s gameplay, and in many ways is the most challenging – and rewarding. All enemies are at their absolute best here – no more sluggish AI letting you get used to it, no weakened hits that give you a second chance. You will die, and you will die a lot here while you’re getting your feet under you.
But once you do?
You feel like a badass. There is nothing like the rush of beating a hard game at it’s very best, and Nioh 2’s Underworld delivers.
Much like the first Nioh’s Abyss, the Underworld is composed of a central staging area, a side-mission that you can either grind in or just rush through, and a boss arena. We’ll go into more detail on each of these (and each are somewhat different, so it’s worth reading up on them) in their own section.
Let’s get to it ^_^

Grace Rotation
Much like the Abyss, each stratum of the Underworld has a set of 18 Ethereal Graces that will drop naturally throughout it’s areas and bosses.
Also much like the Abyss, these Graces are limited to a pool of 6 Graces for each strata, and rotate in a predictable manner. The formula is something like “3n + x”, where if a floor is a multiple of 3 (3, 6, 9, etc..), it will be the “Susano” set of graces, if the floor is a multiple of 3 + 1 (4, 7, 10, etc..), it will be the Omoikane set, and 3 + 2 (5, 8, 11, etc..) will be Marici.
Here are the sets of Graces:
