Overview

When did the various Leaders reign? Who might have actually met each other? Want to play them in the order they were born or reigned? Here they are.

Chronological Graphical View of Leader Lifespans and Reigns

Years are taken from Wikipedia. In many cases, especially for the older ones, they’re best guesses.

The color indicates where the Leader is from: blue for the base game, red for Rise and Fall, and orange for other DLC. The Aztecs are marked blue as it’s automatically included in the base game.

Leaders are sorted by date of birth.

The alternating white/grey bar at the top of each chart represents centuries. The left edge is 600 BCE (Before Common Era, AKA “BC”), while the right edge is 2000 CE (Common Era, AKA “AD”).

Leaders from before 600 BCE don’t get a bar; to include them I’d have to squish the rest of the chart.

These are when a leader was in power. If they held multiple positions, it’s typically the highest position they held. If dates for a leader’s reign were not available, I used their birth and death dates.
