[ENG] Finding all black holes for Waveform

[ENG] Finding all black holes

Overview

This guide will show you the locations of all black holes in the game and how to unlock them, allowing you to obtain the “They’re all relative” achievement.Keep 1 thing in mind though:English is not my first language, therefore it’s likely that this guide will have a few grammatical errors. This is my first guide, criticism would be appreciated.

Uranus

The first black hole that you can obtain.

Location: Neptune 3

Strategy: This one’s really simple: just avoid black matters and adjust your wave to pick it up.

Saturn

This is the only black hole that i got on my first try.

Location: Uranus 7

Strategy: You need to have all 3 colors on you, score multiplier or orbitals. It’s possible to do it with just the color blue, but i find it a lot easier to go through all 3 coloured dark matter boxes and enter the black hole at the end.

Jupiter

I don’t know why, but i had so much trouble trying to get this black hole. It took me like 15 tries…

Location: Saturne 6

Strategy: After you detonated a lot of space mines, you should come across this:
If you enter the portal, you’ll get teleported behind the black hole. If you crash into dark matter, the explosion radius will wipe off the black hole. Same happens if you do the same after detonating the space mine. You need to do this very carefully: detonate the space mine and quickly move your wave path to dark matters settled between the first one (next to the portal enterance) and the last 3. You will pass just after they disappear because of the space mine, allowing you to enter the black hole.

Asteroid Belt

Why are prisms so hard to master? I don’t know, but it sure helped me a lot in getting the black hole in this level.

Location: Jupiter 4

Strategy: After you had fun with some prisms, you will stumbleupon this:

If you managed to keep your blue particle score multiplier, you will have to crash into the red dark matter box (seen in screenshot above). The explosion radius is going to destroy some of the black matter covering the black hole, but the black hole itself will survive, allowing you to collect it without any problems. Slightly earlier before that happens, this is the score multiplier you need to collect:
After collecting it, don’t collect any red multipliers or prisms.

Mars

It’s very easy to bypass this black hole without noticing it. It’s the reason why this is the last one i got.

Location: Asteroid Belt 3

Strategy: 2 thirds through the level, you’ll see a portal enterance behind an exit. This means that you can travel back and forth as much as you want. Screenshot:
After you warped yourself backwards for the first time, you’ll notice a black hole traveling vertically.
And after warping yourself backwards for the 2nd time, you’ll be able to collect it:

Earth

Now we can relax a little, because this is one of those easy to get.

Location: Mars 4

Strategy: Throughout the level, there will be orbitals and score multipliers in blue and green colors. If you manage to keep at least one of them and find this, the black hole is yours:

Venus

I don’t think we would be having a good time if a black hole was this close to Earth…

Location: Earth 5

Strategy: This might be a little tricky; About 1/4 through the level, you will find 2 green particle accelerators. You need to enter the upper, shorter one, but without crashing into any dark matters or entering the lower one.

Mercury

If you have a paranoid nature, this black hole attempt might not be your favourite.

Location: Venus 4

Strategy: Near the level end, in the fortress-like creation, there is a long red particle accelerator:
The black hole is located underneath it. To enter it, you need to have a blue multiplier on you, NOT a red one. I’m pointing this out because this level has red multipliers like trees have leaves…. So yeah, it’s a bit hard to keep your blue multiplier on you. But if you do manage ot keep it, just crash into a black matter and try to extend your wavelenght to the max. The explosion radius will trigger fireworks which will trigger more dark matters, in the end resulting in the particle accelerator being destroyed, allowing you to safely enter the black hole.

Extra note: This here is the last non-red multiplier you can pick up before attempting the black hole:

The Sun

This level was the ultimate, definitive, absolute, utter bane of my existance. I’m lucky that the black hole is at the beginning of the level…

Location: Mercury 3

Strategy: You need to crash into the dark matter, but also avoid the asteroid. Pretty tricky, but once you’ve done it, the explosion radius will destroy the dark matter covering our black hole, allowing you to enter it.
