Overview
A simple guide that will give you basic guidance on finishing the game.
Basic Tactic
When you start off don’t waste time exploring buildings that much, focus on doing missions that give you a lot of money and find secret missions which will grant you buildings such as Wind Shelters. Once you’ve unlocked the Lieutenant Area using Wind Shelters fight him. Once you’ve killed all the Lieutenants buy as many books as you can that are coherent with the Villager’s Skill(focus on upgrading only one; you can do that by pressing E in front of “View Continent Status” and pressing “Settlement Residents”, picking the Character and then pressing on “Give gift”). Once it reaches the maximum Success Change(75%) attack the Overlord until he is at the lowest level(you should be able to keep attacking the Overlord even if the Survival Chance is like 15%). Once you’ve done it, you can rush until you find the area with the Overlord(those areas are marked with a purple square in the lower right map). It is also suggestable that you unlock all the survivors(that will require you to get Covered Farms in order to keep their Mood high).
Some info on Items
As for items. There are 3 kinds of items: Spells, Enchants and Usables. Spells are you attacks, Enchants are your passive skills/boosts and Usables are various items that have various effects.
You will find a couple of spells in the beggining and you will get more later on by completing missions. You can also incinerate spells for a small amount of Consciousness Shards. If you need craftings ingredients look for them in houses(storage houses will have a “final” area in which those things will be stored and it will have a portal to get you out), or get an NPC to look for them. If you don’t know where to find specific ones you can read the locations in which they are found when you hover with your mouse over their icons. Spells such as Ball of Light, Fire Snake and Storm Dash are some basic things to have and that can be very useful.
Enchants will be granted to you every time you complete the Enchantment Gauge. You do that by collecting small, blue containers. You will need roughly around 10 of them to get an enchantment or you can recycle an Enchantment you don’t need using an Incinerator(it’s next to the”Continent Status” building. There are also Health, Mana and Spell Power enhancers. They are quite cheap in the shop and you can only have 10 enhancements(for example: level 3HP, level 5MP and level 2SP. Summing it up to 10[recommended setting]). One enchantment you should pretty much always have on you is the Featherfall Enchant. 2 more important but not crucial Enchantments are the Double/Triple Jump and Inner Light.
Consumables can be bought from the store or found randomly. They vary from crates to Explosive Bear Traps. I recommend you buy Platforms the moment you get into town, since they are extremely cheap and really useful.
There are 3 tiers of items: Uncommon(Green little mark), Rare(Azure Little Mark) and Epic(Purple Mark). The marks are on the top right corner of the item. Epic items always level up and are the same level as the character. You can either get these special tiered items from Bosses or you can craft them. To craft them you need the orbs, Uncommon, Rare and Epic accordingly. You can find Uncommon and (I think)Rare Orbs in houses while you can get Epic Orbs from bosses.
A lot of items/spells and most game mechanics are unlocked by completing tasks. You can get a good idea of it by visiting “Planning”>”Big Honkin’ Encyclopedia”>”Unlockables Digest”.
~I recommend the following spells in later levels: Epic Ball of Lightning(Mouse1),Epic Flamethrower(M2), Epic Luminance Arc(MiddleMouse). It would be good to get some Strength Bonus on them.
~As for beggining levels: Ball of Lightning(M1), Rock Throw(M2), Ice Cross/Miasma Whip/Leaf Whip(M3) or if you have focused a lot on mana Creeping Death/Flameout(M3).
In a nutshell.
In a nutshell: Farm money for Wind Shelters and one Covered Farm or find them in Secret Missions, kill all the lieutenants, upgrade your citizen’s skill to max, assault the Overlord, kill him, pass on to the next Continent, repeat.
