Overview
Now, before i start no, this has nothing to do with Tide Pods. But, now that i have your attention, you might aswell keep reading. This guide will tell you about a design for your prison. PODS!
What Are Pods?
PODS, are a way of keeping your prisoners together, while keeping them secluded at the same time. The purpose of PODS, are to keep the same security prisoners together, and making sure that they rarley leave the POD. The POD has everything they need so that they will hopefully never have to leave.
Basics
The basic rooms that you need in your POD are the rooms that suit the basic needs the prisoners living there EX: shower, infirmary e.t.c. The only room that isn’t mandatory INSIDE the POD, is the canteen. We will get to that later. Security is another thing the POD will need. (more detail in the SECURITY section) EX: metal detectors, cameras, e.t.c. Either cells or dormitories can be used, although dormitories are not recomeneded for security concerns.
Security
Security is the main reason i designed these PODS. The method that works best for me is secluding the exit, and putting a security room near it (as shown below). Camera’s and patrols are a big thing in security. Make sure that the guards are patrolling about 75% of the POD, if not possile due to concerns such as money, place cameras in the places the guards can’t go, that way when seen, guards can flood the area. Supression, is another big thing, armed guards have a supression effect when in view of prisoners (with the the exception of fearless prisoners), therefore, making prisoners less likley to act up. Another way of supression is to put a sniper tower just outside the exit, when the prisoners run out of the POD (if they manage to) the snipers will fire warning shots, which should hopefully make them surrender. Metal detectors are your best friend when security is an issue. Place them in the enterence, exit, and cell blocks, this way no metal contraband can get through. Same thing with dogs, except try to have them patrol in high traffic areas EX: canteens, cellblocks, e.t.c.
Mini PODS
Mini PODS are seperate sections of the main POD. These Mini PODS dont connect to the outiside, rather they connect to the main POD. Mini PODS are completley optional, sometimes you dont have enough room for a kitchen and canteen in the main POD, so a Mini POD can give you the canteen with security still being taken care of. The only reason i see Mini PODS being used are for extra buildings (work places, canteens, infirmary, extra cell’s e.t.c.). or because you have money to burn and want the POD to carry many prisoners.
Conclusion
In conclusion, PODS do a wonderful job of keeping your inmates secure, and secluded. PODS can be changed or altered in anyway you want/need. Always remember that PODS main job is security. Thank you for reading, and good day. (I ‘m sorry for any mistaks in punctuation or spelling)
