FOG OF WAR
Title: Fog of War
·
Description: You will lose visibility of the insides of your prison buildings, unless you have Guards patrolling the area or CCTV Cameras covering the area.
·
Summary: Fog of War creates a dark transparent layer that makes you lose visiblity of your prisoners and subsequently what is happening in the ‘foggy’ area. This option requires you to monitor your prison more carefully and assign guards, guard patrols and install CCTV around your prison to be able to monitor your prison. Note that you can still hear what is going on in the out-of-sight areas.
·
Example of visible area (Right):
·
Example of building with Fog of War (Below):
- Lose Visibility of unmonitored parts of your prison.
- Need guard patrols or CCTV to view your prison.
- Recommended for most players, adds some more action to your prison.
JUNGLE PLOT
Title: Jungle Plot
·
Description: Generate a starting plot of land that resembles a dense jungle.
·
Summary: You start with a plot with different scenery than the default map. This option generates trees over most of the plot, most being palm, and generates them even if you deselect Generate Forests. The ground texture is longer grass rather than the the dirt, grass and sand found on the default plot. The ground texture is also constant throughout the whole map, unlike the default. Trees will need to be dismantled before building, making this a more challenging map, but can also bring in a lot of extra early game profit from exporting the logs.
·
Example of a Jungle Plot:
- Trees obstruct construction, making creating your prison more difficult.
- The increased amount of trees can be exported as logs for extra profit.
- Map will generate with trees regardless, even if you unchecked ‘generate forests’.
SNOWBOUND PLOT
Title: Snowbound Plot
·
Description: Generate a starting plot of land that’s covered in snow.
·
Summary: Your map will generate covered in snow. If you select Generate Forests, the trees will all be ‘Snowy Conifer’ rather than the normal tree types, but will have a similar amount of trees. The ground will be covered in a layer of snow, which can also be placed in the ‘Flooring’ tab and has the same walking speed as normal map ground flooring. Weather & Temperature is not affected and will be the same as the other maps.
·

·
Example of a Snowbound Plot with Generated Forests (Below):
DESERT PLOT
Title: Desert Plot
·
Description: Generate a starting plot of land that resembles a sandy desert.
·
Summary: Selecting this prison option will generate your prison plot as a desert. The ground is mostly the ‘sand’ flooring with splotches of dirt. Trees will be mostly Cacti, which will strangely drop logs when dismantled, although the stump is that of a cactus. An occasional palm tree will spawn. It is important to note that the Desert Plot will always generate with trees / cactus, as the Generate Forests option does not affect anything.
·
Example of a Desert Plot:
- Cactus will spawn instead of trees, which oddly still drop logs which can be exported when dismantled.
LUNAR PLOT
Title: Lunar Plot
·
Description: Generate a starting plot of land that resembles a lunar surface.
·
Summary: Your starting plot will have a moon-like ground which has small craters every couple of tiles. These small craters will not affect building. Lunar surface can be placed from the flooring tab for $30 per square, and has a higher walk speed than the normal dirt, grass and sand.
If you select Generate Forests, only Sakura Trees will generate instead of the default trees. If you select Generate Lakes, lakes will spawn with a few tiles of grass around them as well as normal trees.
·
Example of a Lunar Plot (Right):
·
Example of a Lunar Plot with Generated Forests (Below):
- Lunar flooring has a higher walk speed than other map’s grounds, making beginning construction easier and faster.
- Lunar flooring can be re-placed from the flooring tab for $30 / square.
- Map will generate with Sakura Trees instead of normal trees.
GENERATE FORESTS
Name: Generate Forests
·
Description: Clusters of trees will appear on your land.
·
Summary: Small Forests and individual trees will appear on your plot of land will be generated at the start of the game with this option enabled. The trees can be chopped down by your workers and then sold (with exports zone) for some extra starting money. The logs can also be stored for use later in the game, being needed for creating superior beds in the workshop for an even greater profit. Note that trees that are chopped down sometimes leave stumps, which can be impossible to move and obstruct building. See list below on how to get rid of these.
·
Example of Generated Forests:
- Logs can be exported for extra money early in the game.
- Can be made into beds in the workshop, then exported for cash.
- RECOMMENDED: Stump remover mod: [link]
GENERATE LAKES
Name: Generate Lakes
·
Description: Random lakes will block sections of your land. WARNING: Experimental
·
Summary: Lakes will appear on your prison land when the option is on. The lakes will block you from building on top of them. prisoners cannot tunnel where the water is, and they can’t escape in the water if it is on the edge. will be annoying if it spawns in the middle, you will have to build around it, making starting your prison quite a challenge. The description of this option says it is experimental, so it is possible it will change in the future.
·
Example of Generated Lakes:
- Cannot build on lakes.
- Prisoners will not tunnel or escape through lakes.
- You cannot place any type of flooring on lakes, making them permanent obstructions.

Name: Generate Buildings
·
Description: Random derelict buildings will be left behind on your land, which you can use as you wish.
·
