Overview
In its current form, Prison Architect is a fun game that doesn’t offer a ton of long term play. The mods that I will show you will hopefully change that, allowing you to play a single prison for anywhere from 5 – 10 hours.
Mod Locations
Due to Prison Architect being in alpha, currently the modding scene is fractured and hard to keep up with. Hopefully that will change over time, but here are a few resources for game mods:

Both of the Prison Architect forums are pretty good resources for finding mods, although they aren’t specifically set up for mods.
Prison Exchange is specifically set up for mods, but unfortunately does not have any up to date mods. The mods present at that site may or may not work on Alpha 8, but hopefully that will change in the future.

Installing Maps
Maps are save game files that people edit, then distribute to other players. Maps can be challenging scenarios or someone just showing off their newest prison. These are distributed as .PRISON files, and are loaded within the game by loading them just like any save game.

Installing Mods
Mods are files distributed by an author that add more grants, change the graphics, or modify high-level aspects of the gameplay mechanics.
Most mods are distributed with a readme.txt file. This file should always contain the most up to date instructions on how to install the mod. In the event a mod is distributed without a readme.txt, follow these instructions:
