Overview
In Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus, there are a total of 58 potential missions you can do (53 from the base game, and 5 from the Heretek DLC). Spread across them are a total of 244 Narrative Events (as well as the 14 “tactical choices” in the Heretek missions). This guide is designed to help you with all of them.
++ Narrative Events Explained ++
There are two types of “Narrative Events” within the tombs of Silva Tenebris that will be covered in this guide: “Standard” Events, which merely present a choice, and “Objective” Events, which usually (but not always) provide a choice after a fight; Standard Events are technically optional, whereas completing all Objective Events are mandatory for finishing a mission. Examples of these rooms as seen in the Tactical Interface of the Caestus Metalican are displayed below.
Each Narrative Event will present the Tech Priest cohort with a situation that needs to be dealt with, and three potential options. These options are not always intuitive, and sometimes are outright contradictory from expectations. However: the choices are consistent between playthroughs. They are exactly as consistent as the Necron Glyphs, but it does not appear so at first glance as there are 244 Narrative Event rooms, spread out across 53 missions, making for 732 options that need to be memorized, rather than a mere 20 Glyphs.
That is the purpose of this guide: detailed information about every Narrative Event, so memorization is not required, and future explorations into the Necron Tombs beneath Silva Tenebris can be as optimized as possible. And while they are not technically “Narrative Events,” the tactical decisions for the 5 Xerxetes missions in the Heretek DLC have also been included in this guide, in the interest of completeness.
Narrative Events can be disabled in the difficulty settings at the start of the game or between missions on the Caestus Metalican. However, disabling Narrative Events will also disable achievements. Right above it is a setting disabled by default, labeled Enhanced Exploration. Enabling it will not disable achievements, and it is recommended that box be checked.
Enhanced Exploration will provide one (or several) small icons at the bottom of the choice. An example can be seen in the images below. It offers “at a glance” aid, but it’s simply a hint, and does not actually indicate if the choice is a positive or a negative. It isn’t much of a benefit, but any advantage against the Necrons is welcome in the gaze of the Omnissiah.
!! IMPORTANT !! READ THIS !!
The following section provides several rules to keep in mind while using this guide during a playthrough. The results of Narrative Events do not exist in a vacuum, and several factors (the awakening meter, the CP gauge, the initiative dial, the health of the cohort, etc) will cause certain results to appear different than what is listed in their respective entries.
To reiterate: the results of the Narrative Events are fixed, but will appear different under certain conditions.
[[AWAKENING]]
- Choices marked with a Necron sigil affect the Awakening Meter. This sigil is known as the “Ankh of the Triarch,” believed to be the symbol of the original Necron Empire [[refid=”Ankh of the Triarch”]] [Stygies VIII] datum ref: Orpheus Sector//Dark Marches Region//Segmentum Tempestus [hexref: 14/3/SG] // Conflict= “Fall of Orpheus” // (recorded: 2561997.M41)
- Most of the choices will raise the meter by several tics [+ AWAKENING], but certain specific options will instead lower it [- AWAKENING]. The Awakening Dial in a mission cannot go below 0, so negative Awakening is not possible. However, with careful planning (and strategically destroying Necron consoles within the tomb, disrupting the repeating patterns of the Awakening Protocols), it is theoretically possible to end many (but not all) missions with 0% added to the Awakening meter.
[[BLACKSTONE]]
- Choices marked with a Noctilith shard will always reward Blackstone [+ BLACKSTONE]. Blackstone will never be removed from your cache, except through upgrades and damage to the Cohort.
[[COGNITION POINTS]]
- Choices marked with an orange cogwheel affect the amount of Cognition Points available to the cohort, seen in the gauge at the bottom of the screen.
- If the Cognition gauge is full, options that award Cognition Points [+ CP] will instead provide extra Blackstone.
- If the Cognition gauge is empty, options that remove Cognition Points [- CP] will instead raise the Awakening meter.
[[HEALTH]]
- Options marked with a stylized Tech-Priest hood affect the health of the Tech-Priest cohort in some way, either healing or damaging units.
- If an option would heal a single unit [+ HP], or heal the entire cohort [+ HP ALL] but there are no damaged units in the cohort to heal, then Blackstone will be rewarded instead. If, however, even a single unit is damaged, then a single unit heal will select a member of the cohort at random; the unit who gets “healed” may not necessarily be the one who actually needs healing.
- Options that damage either a single unit [- HP] or the entire cohort [- HP ALL] will always cause damage, no matter what. Depending on the health of the cohort, this has the potential to result in a TPK.
[[INITIATIVE]]
- Choices marked with a blue boot affect the Initiative of the first round of the next combat. Changes will be either in the Necron’s favor [+ INIT], sending the needle to green, or in the cohort’s favor [- INIT], sending the needle to blue.
- Once an Initiative change is made, the Initiative dial in the lower left corner of the screen will be locked into that change for the next combat. After the first round, the needle on the dial will return to neutral. Any options that would normally alter Initiative once a decision is locked in will raise the Awakening meter instead.
[[STC Fragments]]
- Options marked with a Servo Skull award Standard Template Construct fragments [STC FRAGMENT] for Wargear (weapons and tools).
- Unlocks are tier based and linear: a Mark 3 fragment will never be unlocked before a Mark 2, for instance.
- These are similar to the Necron Glyphs which unlock STC fragments; however, unlike the Glyphs, which award CP if no appropriate unlocks are available, nothing will happen at all if all available Wargear has been collected.
Scaevola 1: The Killing Jar
Tech-Acquisitor Scaevola wishes to begin her research into the secrets of the Necrons, and has asked for specimens of the enemy to be gathered from the Tomb of Ekropis.
Location: Ekropis Sector
Objective: Collect Necron Samples.
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Even if “Number of extra fights in a mission” is set to maximum in the difficulty settings, no extra fights will spawn if this is one of the first missions selected.
EVENT
This chamber shows signs of having been the scene of a brutal gunfight. Two Skitarii lie dead, with marks from Gauss blasts all over the walls.
[+ CP]
EVENT
The chamber ahead is lined with glowing green cylinders, each pulsing with power. The air is thick and greasy, and arcs of static electricity leap from the cohort’s extremities as they approach. This chamber is almost certainly extremely dangerous, but it is the only way forward.
[+ INIT]
[- HP]
[+ CP]
EVENT
One of the Necron War-forms remains after the rest of the fallen constructs teleport away. It fades in and out of reality, as if about to disappear.
EVENT
The chamber ahead has suffered damage from the shifting of the landscape above. Several dozen tiny beetle-shaped constructs are scurrying about industriously as they repair the damage.
[- HP]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
OBJECTIVE
Upon destruction, the Necron constructs vanish, leaving no samples to be collected.
[STC FRAGMENT]
Scaevola 2: The Works of the Enemy
Skitarii in the Tomb of Ekropis have encountered a ‘Destroyer’ form of necron that uses anti-gravitational technology. Tech-Acquisitor Scaevola has requested a cohort engage Necron Destroyers so this technology can be studied.
Location: Ekropis Sector
Objective: Collect Necron Destroyer Specimen Samples.
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Even if “Number of extra fights in a mission” is set to maximum in the difficulty settings, no extra fights will spawn if this is one of the first missions selected.
EVENT
A mortally wounded Skitarii lies on the floor of this chamber, his torso laid open by Gauss fire. He was evidently caught in a firefight and left behind when his unit fell back. It is likely the Skitarii were attacked by Necron Destroyers – this Skitarii might have witnessed their tactics up close.
[+ INIT]
EVENT
This chamber is bathed in a constant dataflow transmitted by the tomb’s own awakening protocols. This transmission must be of Necron origin.
[+ CP]
EVENT
This area of the Tomb of Ekropis is covered in hieroglyphics interspersed with depictions of Necron constructs, most often engaged in war. Some of the images resemble the Necron Destroyers with their distinctive anti-grav hulls.
EVENT
This chamber is the site of a skirmish between a unit of Skitarii and the Necron Destroyers. A few corpses, badly mauled by Gauss fire, lie around a hurriedly-erected flakweave barricade.
[STC FRAGMENT]
[+ INIT]
EVENT
The cohort finds a sarcophagus containing a Necron Destroyer that seems inert. It may have malfunctioned, and failed to respond to the tomb’s awakening protocols.
[- HP]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
Scaevola 3: Grave Goods
Explore the remnants of an excavation into the Tomb of Ekropis made by the original Imperial settlers on Silva Tenebris, and recover any archeotech they left behind for Tech-Acquisitor Scaevola.
Location: Ekropis Sector
Objective: Find any archeotech from the previous excavation.
Difficulty: Normal
Notes: [[[ERROR]]] Damn not found.
EVENT
A human skeleton, brown and crumbling with age, lies in the corner of the chamber, evidently one of the planet’s original human settlers. Who knows how they met their end down here in the dark of the Necron tomb?
[- INIT]
[- HP]
EVENT
The remains of a small, handmade altar stand in front of a Necron sarcophagus in this chamber. The altar must have been made by one of the lost settlers, but the implications of its location are troubling.
EVENT
The remnants of a long, terrified imprisonment in the tomb can be seen in this chamber. Tally marks scratched on the walls indicate a long passage of time, as do traces of a makeshift fireplace and shelter. One of the colonist expedition was trapped here for a long time, contemplating his own demise.
EVENT
The cohort comes across the skeletal corpse of a long-dead settler on top of an ornate coffin-like sarcophagus. Though it is partly scattered across the chamber, the body is still intact enough to look like it died draped over the coffin.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
OBJECTIVE
A mural depicting Lord Ekropis dominates the wall of this chamber. He is depicated at the head of a grand procession of Necrons, all carrying the implements of an an astronomer aloft.
[+ INIT]
Scaevola 4: Treasure Hunt
Tech-Acquisitor Scaevola has received reports of a powerful artefact in the Tomb of Agrolekh. Acquire this aretefact for study.
Location: Agrolekh Sector
Objective: Find the powerful artefact and return it.
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
An inscribed stele on the wall of this chamber depicts the image of Lord Agrolekh holding the artefact, a shining trapezohedron, that Scaevola described.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
[STC FRAGMENT]
EVENT
The cohort enters a chamber with several sculptures arranged on shelving around the walls. They appear to be replicas of the trapezoidal artefact, rendered in various materials.
EVENT
The chamber ahead is covered by a gun turret on the ceiling, sporting twin Gauss blaster. It could be defending the route to the artefact, forming a part of its security system. The turret is active and tracks ceaselessly across the chamber.
[+ INIT]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
[+ INIT]
EVENT
The cohort reaches a chamber containing several items on pedestals, held up as if for exhibition. They do not look like items of Necron design at all, and appear to be from a variety of different species and cultures.
[- HP]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
OBJECTIVE
This chamber contains a grand figurehead, of the kind that might be found on ocean-going ships, but it depicts a stylised Necron warrior. It must be a relic of Lord Agrolekh, admiral of the Necron fleets.
[+ CP]
Scaevola 5: Lock & Key
Tech-Acquisitor Scaevola needs a key to the artefact she recovered earlier. This key is in possession of a senion Necron in the Tomb of Agrolekh.
Location: Agrolekh Sector
Objective: Find the key that will unlock the artefacts power.
Difficulty: Normal.
Notes: This is the first Scaevola mission to feature a Lesser Necron Lord as a miniboss.
EVENT
This region of the tomb was used to inter Agrolekh’s lieutenant. Images of his glowering, stylised mask glare down from everywhere. Perhaps there is some information on this xenos to be gleaned, or perhaps it is more important to proceed on-mission with all haste.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
EVENT
A huge mural depicts the artefact from Agrolekh’s tomb, and the ring-shaped object that must be the key Scaevola wishes to acquire. The background of the image appears to be a large set of doors or gates – perhaps symbolic, perhaps real.
[+ CP]
EVENT
A strange sculpture takes up the centre of this chamber – a heap of Necron heads, piled up on a circular base. The base has hieroglyphics inscribed around its circumference.
OBJECTIVE
A statue of Agrolekh’s lieutenant stands at a junction in the passageway ahead. It points in one direction, as if indicating the way.
Scaevola 6: Memories of the Void
Lord Agrolekh, master of Necron fleets, kept records of his war exploits deep in his tomb. Tech-Acquisitor Scaevola has requested they be retrieved to aid in gathering intelligence on the Necrons.
Location: Agrolekh Sector.
Objective: Retrieve Agrolekh’s war records.
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
This chamber seems related to Lord Agrolekh’s military exploits, as a large raised slab in the centre of the floor is covered in inscribed star maps and battlelines. It could represent a fleet engagement in which Agrolekh served as admiral.
EVENT
The chamber appears to be an annec to the main repository of Agrolekh’s military discourses. Several datamedium slabs lie in racks on the walls, as if this was a form of data-library. Images of Lord Agrolekh and his fleets adorn the walls.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
[+ CP]
EVENT
A swarm of Necron scarabs crawls around the walls of this chamber. They seem to be engaged in cleaning the tomb and do not appear hostile.
EVENT
This chamber contains a slab of glossy, glass-like black material, possibly a repository of data. It might be part of Agrolekh’s collection of military accounts.
[- HP]
OBJECTIVE
An intrusively high level of background data is present in the local noosphere in this part of the tomb, corrupting sensor data and interfering with comms. If left unaddressed, the xenos-originated junk data could hamper the cohort’s combat-effectiveness.
[+ INIT]
Scaevola 7: Biohazard
Tech-Acquisitor Scaevola sees great potential in the ‘Flayer Virus’ that has infected the Tomb of Ubjao. Enter the tomb and acquire samples of the virus from Necron Flayed Ones.
Location: Ubjao Sector
Objective: Collect samples of the Flayer Virus.
Difficulty: Normal
Notes: As soon as you scan all 4 consoles in the final Objective, the mission ends, regardless of how many enemies are left on the map.
EVENT
The chamber ahead contains several sarcophagi from which the inhabitants have already awoken. However, the machinery is severely deformed and discoloured, and oozes black fluids. The inhabitants were almost certainly infected with the Flayer Virus.
[- HP]
EVENT
The cohort comes across a chamber breached by several jagged and broken supports, over which are stretched numerous scraps of gory human skin. One of the Flayed Ones must have shed the skin coming through here. It is possible the skin contains live samples of the Flayer Virus.
[+ CP]
[+ INIT]
EVENT
The cohort must traverse a chamber waist-deep in decaying biological gunk. It is on the most direct path ahead, and avoiding it would be prohibitively time-consuming, but the viscous goo is a threat to body and morale.
[- HP]
[+ INIT]
EVENT
A strange sight awaits the cohort in the chamber ahead – a Necron Warrior, evidently inert, lying in a barred alcove.
OBJECTIVE
One of the cohort shows worrying signs of infection. The trooper’s augmentations are distended and malfunctioning, accompanied by sweating, spasma and low-level hallucinations.
[- HP]
[- HP]
Scaevola 8: The Charnel Pit
The original source of biological materials used by the Flayed Ones of the Tomb of Ubjao must be the settlers from St. Eckhardt’s Hope. Find their remains and recover any archaeotech and resources they possessed.
Location: Ubjao Sector
Objective: Recover any archeotech from decayed corpses.
Difficulty: Hard
EVENT
A sorry heap of human remains lies at the foot of one wall in the intersection ahead. The leathery and aged look of the skin suggests the corpse is one of the settlers dragged into the tomb by the Flayed Ones.
[+ INIT]
EVENT
A grotesque mural covers the wall of the chamber ahead. Daubed in blood and entrails, it depicts a number of debased Adeptus Mechanicus symbols along with arcane sigils of a less certain origin.
[+ CP]
EVENT
A bizarrely neat and ordered display of human skulls is arranged on shelving in the chamber ahead. The skulls are placed around the wall-mounted sarcophagus, from which the slumbering Necorn has already departed.
OBJECTIVE
A number of desiccated corpses lie in the corner of this chamber. They must be from among the settlers captured by the Flayed Ones and brought into the tomb long ago.
[- CP]
OBJECTIVE
One of the dead settlers has been transformed into a hideous trophy of skin and rearranged body parts. Displayed in the centre of this chamber like a signpost or monument. It is impossible to guess what the diseased Flayed Ones hoped to achieve by creating such a thing.
Scaevola 9: Upon The Threshold
Tech-Acquisitor Scaevola is a Xenarite, a faction that believes in using the weapons of the alien foe against them. She wants to access the Library of Mhelob, which first requires the examination of a Tesseract Lock to find out how to open the locks sealing the library.
Location: Mhelob Sector
Objective: Find a Tesseract Lock for Scaevola’s examination.
Difficulty: Hard
EVENT
The cohort passes close to a Skitarii unit that is hard-pressed to hold a key junction. They have weathered several Necron assaults already and their resolve is faltering.
[STC FRAGMENT]
[+ CP]
EVENT
The chamber ahead has several large vertical slabs, inscribed with designs that resemble the Tesseract Lock. The presence of industrial-looking machinery suggests this is a workshop where the locks were assembled. The partially constructed lock must be nearby.
[+ INIT]
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
An ornate chamber ahead is lavishly decorated with images of lordly Necrons, representing the many members of an ancient dynasty. Mhelob’s image is chief among them, depicated standing beside a mighty throne in his role as Vizier.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
[+ INIT]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
OBJECTIVE
This deep in the Tomb of Mhelob, an archway leads towards the Tesseract Lock. An energy field shimmers across the archway, suggesting a forcefield or something more dangerous. The way ahead passes through here.
[- HP]
Scaevola 10: Rending The Veil
Engage and destroy three groups of Flayed Ones so their discorporation can be observed. Tech-Acquisitor Scaevola has mentioned this mission is of great importance to her research, but has neglected to log why it’s so important.
Location: Ubjao Sector
Objective: Destroy enough Flayed Ones for Scaevola to be satisfied.
Difficulty: Hard
Notes: This is the second Scaevola mission to feature a Lesser Necron Lord as a miniboss.
EVENT
The cohort becomes aware of gleaming blades, dripping flayed hides and beady Necron eyes in the shadows around them. The Flayed Ones are stalking them, perhaps to observe, perhaps in preparation for an ambush.
EVENT
The cohort finds a blood trail suggesting a pack of Flayed Ones clad in recently-flayed skin. Following the trail could put them closer to engaging a group of Flayed Ones as per their mission objectives, but could also lead them into danger.
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
[Empyrean Readings Processing] Further Illumination Confirmed. [Hypothesis Confirmation Process] Further observation of sub-resonances of widdershins phase-waves required.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
Scaevola 11: The House Of Wisdom
Open the four Tesseract Locks leading to the Library of Mhelob, rendering the library accessible for Tech-Acquisitor Scaevola to plunder for its information on xenos technology.
Location: Mhelob Sector
Objective: Find and open four Tesseract Locks.
Difficulty: Hard
EVENT
The approach to one of the Tesseract Locks is defended by a series of Gauss blaster turrets covering one of the passageways. It is impossible to use this route without dealing with the defences.
OBJECTIVE
Upon an altar-like pedestal stands and artefact of hinged metal slabs, like a book with pages of steel. It is displayed like one of the sacred tomes of the Cult Mechanicus, and from the many sarcophagi facing it, this Necron tome holds a similar position of reverence.
[- HP]
[+ CP]
OBJECTIVE
The lock is covered in thick roots that have breached the tomb-structure from above, making it impossible to get at the device. Some application of force will required, but without risking triggering the alarms and other defences the Necrons are sure to have employed.
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
The lock is a Necron device of extreme cunning and esoteric technology. Opening it without destruction would be a technological conundrum, but there is no telling what defensive devices the Necrons might have exployed to punish anyone trying to force the lock.
[+ INIT]
Scaevola 12: The Verge of Omniscience
The ultimate prize on Silva Tenebris is the Library of Mhelob. Enter the Library and take its secrets for the Xenarite faction.
Location: Mhelob Sector
Objective: Enter Mhelob’s Library and take all you can find.
Difficulty: Hard
Notes: This is the final Scaevola mission, and also contains the third Lesser Necron Lord miniboss in her quest chain. If you complete both the Scaevola and Videx final missions, this should be done LAST, right before you face Szaregon, to ensure you get her ending.
EVENT
The outer environs of the Library of Mhelob are heavily climate controlled, and the temperature in this area is dangerously low, enough to freeze exposed flesh solid. The area must be traversed with a minimum of damage to the cohort.
[- HP]
EVENT
A single slab of datamedium, the Necron equivalent of a book, sits on a pedestal in this chamber of the outer library. However, it appears to be clamped to the pedestal by restraints.
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
The chamber ahead is an anteroom of the Library of Mhelob, containing racks of datamedium tomes and technical diagrams etched on slabs of carbon. This is far from the bulk of the library, but there could be plenty to gain from plundering this place.
[+ CP]
[- HP]
OBJECTIVE
The Necrons in the Tomb of Mhelob are awakening at an increasingly rapid pace now their library has been breached. The chamber ahead contains several dozen Necron sarcophagi, primed to open and disgorge more Necron warriors. Perhaps this process could be slowed down, or even halted, if the cohort takes the risk.
OBJECTIVE
The chill, august magnificence of the library chamber is ahead. Reams of forbidden knowledge line its shelves. Though the prize is in sight, discipline must still be maintained in the moment of victory.
Videx 1: Winds of Change
Lector-Dogmatis Videx has requested the deployment of a censer-servitor to fumigate the Tomb of Agrolekh and cleanse its spiritual corruption.
Location: Agrolekh Sector
Objective: Deploy a censer-servitor and cleanse the tomb.
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Even if “Number of extra fights in a mission” is set to maximum in the difficulty settings, no extra fights will spawn if this is one of the first missions selected.
EVENT
The censer-servitor stops moving and starts belching pungent smoke. The Runes of Attention are blinking on its chassis indicating several key systems require maintenance.
[+ HP]
EVENT
White traversing this chamber, the censer-servitor crosses a part of the floor that collapses under the machine’s weight. The servitor is trapped at the bottom of a shaft of machinery and pipework, and must be extricated.
[+ INIT]
[- HP]
EVENT
Quite unexpectedly, a previously unused vox-caster unit pops out of the servitor’s face panel. In a synthesised voice, it attempts to engage the cohort in philosophical discussion.
[STC FRAGMENT]
[+ CP]
EVENT
This chamber’s walls are covered in elaborate star charts, covered in extensive annotations in the Necron language suggesting they record journeys among the stars.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
[- INIT]
EVENT
The noisome miasma of fumes from the xenos machinery in this area is masking the servitor’s sacred incense.
EVENT
The servitor begins emitting a loud blaring noise, perhaps a form of tampering or damage alarm that has been accidentally tripped. The noise is accompanied by flashing lights and random bursts of extremely pungent incense.
[- HP]
Videx 2: Our Master’s Voice
Install a system of vox-casters to transmit prayers throughout the Tomb of Agrolekh. Videx believes this will dampen the xenos taint in the tomb.
Location: Agrolekh Sector
Objective: Install vox-casters to dampen xenos taint.
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Even if “Number of extra fights in a mission” is set to maximum in the difficulty settings, no extra fights will spawn if this is one of the first missions selected.
EVENT
This chamber contains a large slab of metal that resembles an altar, with the images of glowering, skull-like Necron faces inscribed on the walls.
EVENT
One of the vox-casters being transported by the cohort begins emitting strains of music from an unknown source. The music sounds like it is of human origin, but it could interfere with the binary transmissions.
EVENT
The cohort’s communications pick up a transmission played in a binary-adjacent xenos language that can be interpreted as a distress signal. It is originating from the next chamber, and is transmitted only in the very local area.
OBJECTIVE
The first vox-caster unit is in place. It immediately begins transmitting the complex binary of Lingua Technis.
[- INIT]
OBJECTIVE
A swarm of tiny scarab-like constructs emerges from apertures in the walls and begin scurrying all over the vox-caster, chewing through its casings with their steel mandibles.
[+ CP]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
Videx 3: From the Mouth of Malediction
A counter-transmission has flooded the Tomb of Agrolekh with Necron data. Lector Dogmatis Videx has requested the source of this transmission be located and destroyed.
Location: Agrolekh Sector
Objective: Find and destroy the transmission’s source.
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
The binary transmission is particularly intense in this region of the tomb, to the extent it is damaging the cohort’s communications. Something must be done to keep them combat-effective.
EVENT
One of the cohort personnel is sufering from the Necron transmission. The routines of the cranial implants have been overwritten by the stream of xenos data.
[- HP]
EVENT
The chamber ahead is sealed behind a doorway resembling the airlock from a ship. Auspex scanners confirm the chamber itself is full of hard vacuum. Unfortunately, it is the only way ahead.
[- HP ALL]
OBJECTIVE
The Caestus Metalican’s cogitators have completed a translation subroutine. The Necron transmission can be deciphered.
[+ INIT]
Videx 4: Plague Wind
The fumes from the Tomb of Ubjao is damaging equipment and the morale of the Adeptus Mechanicus forces. At Lector-Dogmatis Videx’ suggestion, place several incense burners in the tomb to banish the miasma.
Location: Ubjao Sector
Objective: Place incense burners to purify the tomb.
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
This chamber is littered with human bones. They show signs of having been dismembered with sharp blades. They represent around a dozen bodies.
[+ CP]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
EVENT
One of the cohort has become infested with skinchewer grubs. These creatures are native to Silva Tenebris and live off carrion, of which there is a plentiful supply in the Tomb of Ubjao. The grubs burrow into skin and damage the muscle tissue beneath, and are both painful and demoralising.
[- HP]
[+ AWAKENING]
EVENT
The chamber ahead is dominated by a hideous trophy of body parts, festooned with sheets of tattered skin and constructed from bloodstained bones. Adherence to the Cult Mechanicus, and basic human decency, demands it be destroyed.
[+ CP]
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
Though this junction of passageways is one of places selected for the incense burner, an unexpectedly strong air current is blowing through the intersection. It will desperse the incense before it has a chance to perform its purpose of sacred odour-banishing.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
OBJECTIVE
The chamber where the burner is placed is festooned with scraps of gory human skin and the walls are inscribed with Necron sigils that exude a sense of unholiness.

Videx 5: Flesh Harvest
A Flayed One pack has been reported wearing the skins of a recently-slain Skitarii unit in the Tomb of Ubjao. Lector-Dogmatis Videx has requested the pack be hunted down to prevent the damage it will do to Skitarii morale.
Location: Ubjao Sector
Objective: Find and destroy the Flayed Ones pack.
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
An inscribed stele is just visible beneath the filth and rot encrusting the tomb. It might give some insight into the inhabitants.
[- INIT]
EVENT
A couple of flayed corpses lie in this chamber, probably the remains of the fallen Skitarii unit. The bodies might provide clues as to where the target Flayed One pack went.
[STC FRAGMENT]
[STC FRAGMENT]
EVENT
The remains of one of the lost Skitarii are hanging from the walls of this chamber. Only scraps of skin and some internal organs remain. They are identifiable only by regimental tattoos. They cannot be left here like this.

[+ CP]
OBJECTIVE
The cohort has picked up the trail of the offending Flayed One pack. It travels through an area of the tomb choked with debris where a portion of the tomb has collapsed, making direct pursuit hazardous.

[- HP]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
Videx 6: Constellations of Madness
The Tomb of Ekropis contains monuments to Ekropis’ non-standard model of the universe, particularly blasphemous to the Cult Mechanicus. Lector-Dogmatis Videx requests a machine-cleansing ritual in the tomb.
Location: Ekropis Sector
Objective: Prepare the tomb for the ritual.
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
The material of this chamber is made of some unknown super-dense alloy and inscribing the sigil is impossible with the usual sacred implements.
[- HP]
EVENT
Necron scarabs swarm from hidden apertures and obliterate the sigil as soon as it is inscribed. These annoying constructs must be dealt with before the sigil can be completed.
EVENT
The chamber ahead is hung with glowing globes in emulation of some unknown star system. It is spectacular indeed, but may represent a dark truth about the Necrons that would be better not to know.
OBJECTIVE
When the sigil is inscribed on the floor of this chamber, several Necron hieroglyphics appear on the walls, glowing a baleful red as if in angry response
Videx 7: Purification
A mass of Flayed Ones is gathering in the Tomb of Ubjao. Lector-Dogmatis Videx urges attacking these Flayed Ones who will be relatively vulnerable in open battle. Burn them. Burn them all.
Location: Ubajo Sector
Objective: Burn the Flayed Ones!
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
A squad of Skitarii has been forced by injuries to abandon its post holding a key passageway leading deeper into the tomb. If it is left undefended, the Flayed Ones might have another way out of the lower levels, enabling them to avoid the cohort’s vengeance.
[+ CP]
[-HP ALL]
EVENT
Isolated Flayed Ones are serving as scouts to monitor our progress. One such individual has been shadowing the cohort since they entered the tomb, but has unknowingly revealed its presence to a sharp-eyed Tech-Priest.
EVENT
The chamber ahead is a horrific sight. Dozens of severed hands are impaled on spikes on the walls, reaching out as if blindly groping for someone to grab. It is impossible to tell at a glance where the hands have come from.
[+ CP]
OBJECTIVE
A Necron artefact, resembling a large globe inscribed with glowing runes, lies half-buried in a mass of decaying trash in this chamber.
Videx 8: Absolute Power
Lector-Dogmatis’ plan to destroy the tomb-complex requires more energy readings from the Tomb of Neftusk. Escort a sensor-servitor into the tomb to accomplish this.
Location: Neftusk Sector
Objective: Escort the sensor-servitor and gather data.
Difficulty: Hard
EVENT
An exposed power conduit is leaking high levels of radiation into this region of the tomb. The cohort must take precautions against the lethal radiation levels or their mission, and their lives, will end before they can make it to the other side.
[- INIT]
EVENT
The chamber ahead contains several large metallic slabs on which are inscribed reams of Necron sigils. It is possible they contain some form of history about Neftusk and the building of the tomb-structures on Silva Tenebris. They are too substantial for the cohort to carry with them.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
EVENT
The sensor-servitor is reporting extreme fluctuations across all spectra, originating somewhere nearby. This could indicate a powerful energy source in the area, or a malfunction of the servitor.
OBJECTIVE
The chamber is covered in open pipes and ductwork, exposing the industrial innards of the Tomb of Neftusk. It may be difficult for the servitor to traverse this terrain.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
A striken Necron warrior lies half-emerged from its sarcophagus. Some form of malfunction has evidently caused its reanimation protocols to go awry. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a sample of a Necron war-form, which usually teleport away upon deactivation.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
Videx 9: The Logic of Sacrifice
The machine-cleansing of the Tomb of Ekropis is not yet complete. Escort a trio of sacrificial servitors into the tomb to finish the ritual purification.
Location: Ekropis Sector
Objective: Escort the sacrificial servitors
Difficulty: Hard
EVENT
One of the sacrificial servitors has begun spewing junk data, containing snippets of debased prayers to an unknown power. It may be suffering from an information virus.
EVENT
A complex array of calibration devices surrounds a single lens of crystal. This chamber looks like it may have been a form of telescope, though its exact function cannot be certain.
OBJECTIVE
This chamber shows a dangerously high level of radiation. It is possible the servitor’s sacrifice could have unexpected results if it occurs in this location.
OBJECTIVE
An image of Lord Ekropis looms over this chamber, which must be traversed to reach the mission’s objective. For some reason, the sacrificial servitors will not approach the graven image, preventing the cohort from continuing further.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
Videx 10: Prelude to Annihilation
A demolitions team has gone missing after being sent into the Tomb of Neftusk to ascertain the means of breaching the reactors beneath the tomb. Lector Dogmatis Videx requires the team’s fate be discovered before his plan to destroy the tomb-complex can continue.
Location: Neftusk Sector
Objective: Find the demolitions team and escape.
Difficulty: Hard
EVENT
A cluster of explosive charges, obviously of Adeptus Mechanicus origin, is attached to one of the support members of the chamber ahead. It seems the demolitions team was planting the charges when they were forced to abandon the effort, but the exact purpose of the explosives is uncertain.
[- INIT]
EVENT
The cohort comes across the corpse of one of the demolitions team, a specialist Tech-Priest carrying demolition charges and las-cutting gear. The body and equipment may be worth recovering.
[- HP]
EVENT
In the corner of this chamber is a small, hastily improvised shrine made from debris, with a polished carbon steel icon of the Cult Mechanicus half-skull symbol on top. Several pages of handwritten prayer have been left on the altar.
OBJECTIVE
The Tomb of Neftusk is awakening further to our presence. Necron sarcophagi are opening in response to data-alarms triggered by the cohort’s progress. It might be possible to deactivate the alarms, but meddling with xenos technology always runs the risk of a result far worse than leaving well alone.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
OBJECTIVE
A makeshift passageway has been blasted through the chamber wall ahead. It looks like the demolitions team have made their own improvised way towards the tomb’s reactors.
Videx 11: When the Stars are Wrong
Videx has requested destruction of this chamber. A request to demolish all the knowledge that Lord Ekropis has stored here will vindicate Videx’s quest for a safer galaxy but will displease those aboard who might wish this data preserved.
Location: Ekropis Sector
Objective: Destroy Ekropis’ chamber of knowledge.
Difficulty: Hard
Notes: This is the first Videx mission to feature a Lesser Necron Lord miniboss.
EVENT
Pieces of broken stone littering this chamber are covered in fragments of Necron hieroglyphics. This might suggest the target chamber is close, and these fragments could also prove informative in themselves.
EVENT
A number of Skitarii lie dead at an improvised barricade. It seems they were overrun by the enemy, who must still be nearby.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
EVENT
A wounded Skitarii lies in the chamber, severely injured and barely alive. Layers of his flesh have been stripped away by Necron Gauss weaponry. He is moaning and insensible, and his survival seems unlikely.
OBJECTIVE
A grand vista of the night sky over Silva Tenebris dominates the ceiling of this chamber. It has enough detail to serve as a stellar map, and a few of the heavenly bodeis local to this star system are visible.
OBJECTIVE
An image of a Necron lord, who can only be Ekropis, dominates one wall of this chamber. The image is surrounded by complex star charts and diagrams of unknown constellations. Clearly, given the objective of this mission, such an icon of blasphemy cannot be allowed to stand.
Videx 12: Into the Breach
The generatoria beneath the Tomb of Neftusk are protected by an energy shield. For his plan of destroying the tomb-complex to be possible, Lector Dogmatis Videx requires this shield be destroyed.
Location: Nefutsk Sector
Objective: Find and destroy the shield.
Difficulty: Hard
Notes: This is the final Videx mission, and the second Videx mission with a Lesser Necron Lord miniboss. However, defeating it is not required for victory. The final objective battle merely requires the cohort scan or destroy all four consoles on the map, and then escape. If you complete both the Scaevola and Videx final missions, this should be done LAST, right before you face Szaregon, to ensure you get his ending.
EVENT
Ahead stands a monument to Neftusk’s genius as Grand Architect: a sculpture of a fanciful city of towering spires and brutal fortifications, a hideous vision of a Necron fortress-colony.
EVENT
Lord Neftusk, Architect of the Tombs of Silva Tenebris, is here commemorated in a bridge that leads across a deep and lethal chasm. Neftusk’s image looms over the far side of the bridge. The cohort must cross the bridge if they are to continue on their mission.
OBJECTIVE
Powerful radiation flares from the shield generators and the reactors beyond are interfering with communications and our Tech-Priests’ augmentations.
[- HP]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
OBJECTIVE
A transmission from somewhere in the Tomb of Neftusk is blaring blasphemous code bursts into the cohort’s communicators. If left unexamined it may disrupt communications and erode the capacity of the cohort to operate effectively.
[+ CP]
OBJECTIVE
The generators are protected by an energy shield of their own, preventing direct access to them. This will have to be bypassed or deactivated if the demolition team is to fulfil their mission later.
[+ CP]
Khepra 1: Consolidation
Subdomina Khepra has requested aid in taking the pressure off her Skitarii troops. Collapsing key areas of the Tomb of Ekropis will hinder enemy movement and stop them from overwhelming the Skitarii.
Location: Ekropis Sector
Objective: Support Khepra in creating a defensive position.
Difficulty: Easy
EVENT
On the wall of this chamber is inscribed a complex design resembling a star map, but the stars are depicted being consumed by ill-definied entities of swirling light and shadow.
EVENT
The detonator of this charge appears to be a dud. Some menial must have neglected to perform the required anti-corrosion rites.
EVENT
Several Necron skulls are carved into the walls of this chamber, all arranged looking at a central pedestal holding up a globe.
EVENT
The chamber ahead is partially collapsed with a dangerously sagging ceiling and appears highly dangerous.
[+ CP]
[- HP]
EVENT
The Skitarii units holding the Tomb of Ekropis are suffering communications glitches, and one unit has run a cable to their command post to stay in touch. This cable runs across the chamber ahead and it is obvious it has become severed, potentially cutting the unit off from the rest of the Skitarii force.
[+ INIT]
[+ INIT]
EVENT
The explosive charge is put in place, but miniscule Necron scarab-constructs emerge from the apertures in the walls, evidently intent on devouring the explosives before they can go off.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
Khepra 2: Protection Detail
A unit of Skitarii escorting a topographical surveying device has become trapped in the Tomb of Agrolekh. Subdomina Khepra has requested a cohort reach the unit and save the Oculus Topographis.
Location: Agrolekh Sector
Objective: Find and save the Oculus Topographis.
Difficulty: Easy
EVENT
A malfunctioning servo-skull drifts around this chamber, trailing sparks. It looks like one that accompanied the unit escorting the Oculus Topographica.
EVENT
A deployable beacon lies at an intersection of passageways.
[+ CP]
EVENT
A vox-caster unit somewhere in the tomb nearby is broadcasting streams of code, possibly a Necron transmission. This could be a Necron communications device and destroying it could disrupt their capacity to coordinate their attacks.
[+ INIT]
[+ INIT]
EVENT
The corpse of one of the Skitarii squad lies at the entrance to this chamber, evidently cut down by Necron fire while trying to provide a rearguard for the rest of the unit.
[+ INIT]
EVENT
The chamber ahead is covered in dust and debris which clearly show the tracks of the Oculus Topographica. It is clear it went this way, and the trail it left could be followed by the cohort to reach its location as quickly as possible.
Khepra 3: Containment
Subdomina Khepra reports that Necron Flayed One attacks are destroying the morale of the Skitarii in the Tomb of Ubjao. Stem the influx of Flayed Ones into the upper levels of the tomb.
Location: Ubjao Sector
Objective: Hunt and kill all Flayed Ones.
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
The journey down towards the lower levels of the tomb passes through a chamber where someone has scratched marks all over the walls, with a fury and verbosity that can only be the result of madness. Has one of the Skitarii gone insane in the Tomb of Ubjao?
[+ INIT]
[+ INIT]
EVENT
The influx of Flayed Ones has left this chamber awash with gore and scraps of skin. It seems this place was used to butcher the bodies of fallen Skitarii and turn what flesh they retained into the leathery shrouds worn by the Flayed Ones. This horrific place cannot be left as it is.
[+ AWAKENING]
[+ CP]
EVENT
The cohort comes across a side tunnel or vent in the tomb wall. The entrance to the passageway is clotted with blood and scraps of flesh, suggesting it is used as a way for the Flayed Ones to move around the tomb.
EVENT
A lone Flayed One is trapped in a malfunctioning doorway. Its lower limbs are crushed but it has not been damaged enough to cause its teleportation protocols to engage.
[+ CP]
OBJECTIVE
A dead Skitarii is pinned up against a wall by blades speared through his body. It seems strange for the Flayed One to leave a corpse behind without skinning and dismembering it. Perhaps this discovery would reward examination – or perhaps it is a trap.
[- HP]
Khepra 4: Psychological Ops
Subdomina Khepra has suggested striking a symbolic blow against the Necrons by toppling a statue of Agrolekh. This should help with the faltering morale of the Skitarii troops.
Location: Agrolekh Sector
Objective: Destroy the statue of Agrolekh.
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
An enormous metal depiction of a scythe-shaped craft was originally mounted on the ceiling of the chamber but it has since fallen, blocking the way ahead. Perhaps it depicts Agrolekh’s flagship or a typical spacecraft of the fleets he commanded – in any case, it is now an obstacle.
EVENT
A statue of Lord Agrolekh dominates this chamber. It is smaller than the cohort’s objective, but clearly such an icon of xenos heresy cannot be left standing intact.
EVENT
The cohort comes across a lone Skitarii. The soldier has a badly wounded arm and is serving her unit as a courier since she can no longer use a weapon. She explains she is Infantry Operator Third Class Epsila, Fifth Binary Cohort, Maniple Theta, and that she must take a slate of forward combat observances to the Skitarii command post near the entrance.
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
A statue group in the chamber ahead depicts several nameless Necron lords, all wielding a variety of weapons and implements of authority. Though not as dramatic as the target statue of Agrolekh, it certainly represents the Necron leaders’ habit of self-aggrandisement.
Khepra 5: Hearts & Minds
A unit of Skitarii with experimental bionics has been lost in the Tomb of Mhelob. Subdomina Khepra has requested they be recovered on behalf of the Caestus Metalican’s medicae staff.
Location: Mhelob Sector
Objective: Recover the missing Skitarii.
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
The chamber ahead is the bizarre sight of a Skitarii trooper suspended from the ceiling, displayed like a trophy to warn off those who might be following the lost unit. The Necrons must know the cohort is coming, and are either trying to scare them off, or lead them down a false trail.
[- HP]
EVENT
This chamber contains a gruesome but intriguing sight. On a raised section of the floor lies a Skitarii trooper, partially dissected. The trooper’s augmetics have been removed and arranged around him as if for inspection. The rest of the chamber is plain, with no sign of who or what performed the dissection.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
EVENT
A single bionic lies on the floor of this chamber, its still-bloody connection points suggesting it was very recently torn out.
EVENT
A Skitarii trooper lies dead, much of his body torn away by Gauss blaster fire. It appears his augmetics have been removed, leaving gaping surgical openings in his body along with the more recent wounds.
[+ INIT]
EVENT
A corpse lying in the chamber ahead may be one of the fallen Skitarii unit. However, the chort can hear Necron units nearby, and recovering the corpse’s bionics could well put them in danger of being outflanked.
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
Signs of a firefight cover this chamber, both Gauss fire and rad-rifle shots. It is likely the lost Skitarii unit passed through this way, fighting a running battle with pursuing Necrons.
Khepra 6: Denied to the Enemy
Khepra’s Skitarii have located a reanimation chamber in the Tomb of Ekropis. She has requested it be destroyed to hinder the Necron’s ability to repair their fallen.
Location: Ekropis Sector
Objective: Destroy a key reanimation chamber.
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
A dying Skitarii lies in the doorway to this chamber. Her wounds are severe enough to be certain she will not live for long. It is only her augmetics that have kept her alive until now. She reaches up at the cohort as they approach. ‘Please… please, you must listen…’
[+ CP]
EVENT
This area of the Tomb of Ekropis is haunted by auditory hallucinations. The Skitarii have reported them and now the cohort hears distant screaming and human muttering in an unknown language. It could be related to the reanimation chamber, or perhaps some form of mind-altering radiation.
EVENT
The cohort comes across a large machine with a reservoir of silvery liquid metal and large jaws for compressing the liquid into moulds.
[+ CP]
EVENT
A strange site greets the cohort in this chamber. A Necron warrior appears to be fused into the wall, as if it was teleported into it. It looks not unlike a teleporter accident, which is not unknown when using this unpredictable technology. Still, it is the first time you have seen a Necron fall victim to such a thing.
EVENT
The chamber ahead is hung with racks of mechanical limbs, evidently spares for repairing damaged Necron constructs on the fly. Quite apart from being a rather disconcerting sight, it could represent a rare opportunity to gather intelligence on the mechanisms and technology of the Necron war-forms.
[+ CP]
[- INIT]
OBJECTIVE
A Necron warrior lies in the chamber ahead, an unusual sight since they usually teleport away upon deactivation. It appears severely defective, with one arm withered as if by deformity and half its ribcage and skull appearing partially melted. Could this be the result of a malfunction in the reanimation chamber? Perhaps the Necrons are not the inscrutable master of such technology after all.
Khepra 7: Heart of Darkness
Subdomina Khepra has reported a rogue Skitarii Alpha who has lost his mind in the Tomb of Ubjao. Find him and bring him back, or eliminate him if that is impossible.
Location: Ubjao Sector
Objective: Find the Skitarii Alpha.
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
A simple offering of rad-rifle ammunition and ration packs lies at the foot of a tarnished statue that may represent Lord Ubjao.
[+ INIT]
[- HP]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
EVENT
The cohort passes close by a unit of Skitarii moving toward their post elsewhere in the tomb. The Tech-Priests overhear the Skitarii discussing rumours of an Alpha who has gone missing in the tomb.
EVENT
A Skitarii trooper lies dead on the floor of this chamber. It is clearly not the Alpha you seek. There is no sign of telltale Necron Gauss fire, and the body has not been dismembered in the manner typical of a Flayed One attack.
EVENT
A series of bloodstains, evidently deliberately painted, cover one wall of the chamber ahead. They form a series of dots and smears which seem to have a conscious pattern to them.
[+ CP]
EVENT
The cohort picks up human tracks in smeared blood, leading deeper into the tomb.
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
The mad Skitarii Alpha is hunched against the wall in front of you. He has ripped out his augmetics and one of his eye sockets is empty, it is a scene of gory horror. His breathing is laboured and he is filthy with blood.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
Khepra 8: War Games
Subdomina Khepra reports a strange chamber in the Tomb of Neftusk containing a scale model of the tomb-complex. Locate and capture the chamber so its contents can be used to map the tombs more accurately.
Location: Neftusk Sector
Objective: Discover the scale model for the Tomb of Neftusk.
Difficulty: Hard
Notes: This mission is the most Meta in the entire game, and is filled with nothing but jokes about the tabletop Warhammer experience.
EVENT
The chamber ahead is a workshop of sorts. On a bench of polished steel stands a half-constructed miniature version of a huge and elaborate building, resembling a palace in the blocky, obscure Necron fashion. Is this a creation Neftusk hopes to build for real once the dynasty of Silva Tenebris has fully awoken?
EVENT
A series of raised pedestals topped with transparent containers display a number of Necron machines, rendered in miniature in intricate metal and stone. They include the transport vehicles the Astra Militarum have nicknamed Ghost Arks, and the mobile Monoliths that drift across distant battlefields.
[+ INIT]
EVENT
A lathe-like machine fills this chamber. Going by the components littering the floor, it is used to manufacture tiny statues of Necron war-forms. What reason the Necrons have to do this is unknown, but it seems clear they should not be allowed to continue.
[- HP]
OBJECTIVE
A bizarre sight greets the cohort in this chamber – hundreds of miniature Necron warriors, each no taller than a man’s finger, standing on dozens of shelves built into the walls. They are detailed enough to represent specific units and individuals among the Necron leadership.
OBJECTIVE
The chamber ahead contains, not the model of the tomb-complex the cohort seeks, but a large relief map of a section of ground rendered in great details. It appears covered in depictions of ruins and barricades.
[+ INIT]
Khepra 9: Blackout
Subdominus Khepra has requested the destruction of an inscribed stele in the Tomb of Mhelob that depicts past victories of the Necrons. Locate the stele and demolish it.
Location: Mhelob Sector
Objective: Destroy the inscribed stele.
Difficulty: Hard
EVENT
The Skitarii have reported ill omens in the vicinity of the target stele. A stark example of this lies in the chamber ahead, where the walls have suddenly begun to bleed. A prodigious flow of blood sluices down the walls, gathering in the inscriptions on the floor.
EVENT
The cohort comes across a unit of Skitarii, hunkered down in a side chamber. They are suffering from the hallucinations brought about by proximity to the stele and claim to be combat-ineffective.
[+ INIT]
EVENT
The cohort report visual hallucinations. Images of fellow troopers and Tech-Priests known to be dead appear in the shadows of Mhelob’s tomb. They hear distant laughter and screaming, and feel nonexistent insects crawling over them.
OBJECTIVE
In the chamber ahead is a gaggle of hungry-looking and distressed civilians, pleading for help from the cohort to escape the tomb.
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
One of the cohort suddenly doubles over in the centre of this chamber, moaning in pain. They retch up a writhing, metallic lump that splits into dozens of tiny Necron scarabs which scuttle across the floor. The sudden, violent infestation is horrific and disorienting.
Khepra 10: The Last Post
Subdomina Khepra has an idea to cut off the supply of biological material to the Flayed Ones in the Tomb of Ubjao. Due to their desires for flesh, this might cripple the Flayed Ones’ ability to function properly, or so Khepra hopes.
Location: Ubjao Sector
Objective: Cut off the Flayed Ones supply to flesh.
Difficulty: Hard
Notes: Despite the name, not actually the last mission in Khepra’s quest chain.
EVENT
This far into the tomb, the atmosphere in the Tomb of Ubjao is thick and cloying, almost completely unbreathable. The stench is beyond description. The cohort is showing deteriorating vital signs and cannot continue on without taking some form of measure against the foulness of the air.
[- INIT]
EVENT
A heap of gory bones lie scattered around this chamber. They look like they have been very recently denuded of their flesh and skin. The sight is horrific, but suggests the flesh repository is nearby.
[+ INIT]
[+ CP]
OBJECTIVE
From the trail of gore and scraps of skin, it seems a large quantity of biological material was recently taken through the chamber ahead. This might be the start of route that will take the cohort towards their goal more rapidly – but it could also mark a route of heavy enemy activity.
[- INIT]
OBJECTIVE
Dozens of bloody handprints cover the walls of this chamber. Were they made by wounded Skitarii, or by the Flayed Ones with the severed hands of the corpses they have collected? And why? Perhaps the matter warrants further investigation, or perhaps it should be ignored entirely.
[+ INIT]
Khepra 11: Under Siege
A large body of Skitarii troops has become trapped by the rapidly-awakening Necrons in the Tomb of Agrolekh. Subdomina Khepra has requested assistance in breaking them out of their position.
Location: Agrolekh Sector
Objective: Rescue the trapped Skitarii.
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
The passage intersection ahead shows signs of having been fought over viciously in the recent hours. The trapped Skitarii seem to have fallen back through this area and been forced to relinquish the intersection as they retreated.
[- AWAKENING]
OBJECTIVE
A vicious skirmish has left the chamber ahead riddled with gunfire and half-collapsed. The danger of further collapse is undeniably present, but so is the chance to acquire resources or intelligence normally concealed within the tarnished walls of the Tomb of Agrolekh.
OBJECTIVE
A cache of ammunition and supplies lies in a side chamber, evidently left by the Skitarii as they were forced back in the face of Necron attacks. They could be valuable if recovered.
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
A ragged band of Skitarii are holding onto this location, already badly mauled by repeated Necron attacks. They look to the newly-arrived cohort for leadership.
[+ INIT]
Rho 1: Radiation Burns
Damage sustained during Warp transit forced the Caestus Metalican to vent much of its fuel reserves. Quartermaster Rho suggests acquiring a supply of isotopic material from the Tomb of Agrolekh for use as fuel on the Caestus Metalican.
Location: Agrolekh Sector
Objective: Find isotopic materials for fuel
Difficulty: Normal
Notes: Scanning or destroying all three consoles in the final objective room will end the combat, regardless of how many Necrons are still left on the map.
EVENT
A sudden radiation spike has turned this part of Agrolekh’s tomb into a dangerous hot zone. A pair of Skitarii lie in the zone, evidently having been overcome by the rad-levels. It is sacreilegious to leave them unrecovered, but the area may be too hazardous to do anything else.
EVENT
A series of metallic archways of tarnished and brutalist appearance line the passageway ahead. They appear to have some function, but what purpose they serve in Agrolekh’s tomb is not apparent.
[- HP]
[+ INIT]
EVENT
Erratic and illogical radiation readings are throwing off the cohort’s ability to track the target isotopes.
[- CP]
OBJECTIVE
The cohort’s rad-sniffers are detecting potential traces of the target isotopes. The trail leads through a half-collapsed series of chambers, crumbling under the weight of the shifted landscape overhead. It may be perilous to pursue, but could bring the cohort to the objective more quickly.
[- INIT]
Rho 2: ‘Eavy Metal
Quartermaster Rho has requested the capture of a store of adamantium alloy in the Tomb of Ekropis. This material can be used to manufacture advanced ammunition for the Skitarii.
Location: Ekropis Sector
Objective: Find the store of adamantium alloy
Difficulty: Normal
EVENT
A swarm of Necron scarabs are scuttling around this chamber, assembling some contraption of gears and chains. It could be a replacement part for the Armillary, a model of the galaxy somewhere in Ekropis’ tomb. This might provide intelligence or useful materials, but the scarabs are known to be extremely dangerous.
EVENT
The chamber ahead appears to be a workshop, with stores of ingots of various alloys stacked up against the walls and strange xenos tools mounted on the ceiling. Though this does not look like the stash of adamantium the cohort is seeking, it might still be worth seeing what can be salvaged.
EVENT
The stars and planets decorating this chamber seem to represent some form of pattern or code. It might be worth recording them, given Ekropis’ apparent role among the Necrons of Silva Tenebris as court astronomer.
[+ CP]
OBJECTIVE
The cohort’s rad-sensors have picked up a previously unknown isotope, not from the materials being sought but something that has never been recorded in the Mensa Elementalis. Though the source lies outside mission parameters, the quest for the Omnissiah’s knowledge encourages such discoveries be pursued.
[+ INIT]
Rho 3: Carrion Crew
The corpses of settlers who long ago breached the Tomb of Ubjao may still have augmentations and archeotech that surpasses current Imperial technology. Quartermaster Rho has identified these as a potentially valuable resource to be recovered from the tomb.
Location: Ubjao Sector
Objective: Find the augmentations of the previous excavation.
Difficulty: Hard
EVENT
This chamber appears to have only recently been reconnected to the network of passageways linking the areas of the tomb. It seems to have been used as a shelter by some of the settlers, who evidently became separated from the main group and barricaded themselves in here to die. A few mouldering skeletons still remain.
EVENT
This chamber is strewn with human bones, picked clean of any flesh, from skulls and pelivses to vertebrae and tiny bones from the hands and feet. It is impossible at a glance to tell how many skeletons must have contributed to the scene.
EVENT
On a pedestal in this filthy and corroded chamber is an incongruously bright, polished item resembling a human spine cast in chromed metal. This appears to be an augmentation removed from one of the dead settlers, though it is strange to see it displayed like this.
[- HP]
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
The remains of some badly corroded mining equipment, evidently of human origin, lie beside a filled-in breach in the wall and ceiling of this passageway.
OBJECTIVE
A long-dead corpse, desiccated and drawn, lies in the corner of this chamber. From the tatters of clothing and the ages of the corpse, it looks like one of the settlers from St Eckhardt’s Hope. Perhaps this isolated body contains some of the valuable tech Rho was seeking, or valuable information.
Rho 4: Relic Reclamation
A rare and irreplaceable Kastelan Robot has become lost in the Tomb of Mhelob. Quartermaster Rho has requested Tech-Priest assistance in recovering it.
Location: Mhelob Sector
Objective: Find the lost Kastelan Robot.
Difficulty: Hard
EVENT
Still-glowing chemical and thermal burns on the walls of the chamber suggest the Kastelan Robot was recently here, firing its twin-linked phosphor blasters. The remnants of the firefight might produce clues as to the Kastelan’s whereabouts or condition.
EVENT
The cohort comes across a chamber where a few discarded vials of sacred machine-oil and a ring of votive candles suggests a machine-rite recently took place here.
OBJECTIVE
Tracks in a debris-strewn part of Mhelob’s tomb suggest the Kastelan went this way. Its telltale footprints lead into the dark and narrow confines of a badly damaged section of the tomb. Following these tracks is the only option, but doing so may be perilous
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
A data-cassette cast aside on the floor of this chamber looks like it came from the lost Kastelan Robot. It could provide valuable intelligence on the robot’s fate, but it must be decided how to best go about extracting the information inside.
[- HP]
[+ INIT]
Rho 5: Nightmare Fuel
The Caestus Metalican’s fuel is running low again. The Temple of Neftusk has large fuel reserves, and Quartermaster Rho suggests tapping a fuel pipeline to drain it.
Location: Neftusk Sector
Objective: Find a fuel source.
Difficulty: Hard
EVENT
The area ahead is awash with volatile fuel. It would save time to cross this area, but it brings with an obvious risk of immolation.
[- INIT]
EVENT
A fuel leak up ahead has filled this area of the tomb with combustible vapour.
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
Several minor fuel lines converge along the ceiling of this chamber. Though they are not large enough to effectively tap, they may provide a way to locate the major fuel junction the cohort is seeking.
[+ INIT]
[- CP]
OBJECTIVE
A massive piston hammers away in the chamber ahead, one of the many parts of the Tomb of Neftusk using the fuel supply. The sound is deafening and the whole chamber shudders. The exact purpose of the piston is unknown.
Captrix 1: The Lord Astronomer
The Skitarii have located the sarcopagus of Lord Ekropis in his tomb. Prime Hermeticon Captrix requests a high-risk mission seting to destroy Ekropis.
Location: Ekropis Sector
Objective: Eliminate Lord Astronomer Ekropis.
Difficulty: Hard
Notes: Unlocking this mission requires completing any three missions that take place in the Ekropis sector. No extra fights are available for this mission; they spawn instead as extra empty rooms.
EVENT
A synthesised voice echoes through the Tomb of Eropis, transmitted directly through the comms-unit of every trooper in the tomb.
EVENT
An insidious whisper worms its way through the noosphere, infecting the awareness of everyone connected to it. It appears as an incepted thought in the minds of everyone in the Tomb of Ekropis at once.
EVENT
Reams of astronomical data flood the noosphere of the Tomb of Ekropis. The volume of information is huge, and would need the cogitators of the Caestus Metalican to make sense of.
EVENT
This chamber contains several empty sarcophagi, some of which seem to have malfunctioned and show signs of having exploded or caught fire during the awakening process. Any destroyed Necrons have teleported away, but there may still be intelligence to be gleaned from these damaged devices.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
OBJECTIVE
Ahead lies a grand and ornate coffin, at the centre of a clockwork armillary of stars and planets orbiting the sarcophagus.
Captrix 2: The Void Admiral
The Skitarii have located the burial chamber of Void Admiral Agrolekh. Prime Hermeticon Captrix advocates leading a mission to destroy the Necron Lord, and strike a blow against the Necrons in the Tomb of Agrolekh.
Location: Agrolekh Sector
Objective: Eliminate Void Admiral Agrolekh.
Difficulty: Hard
Notes: Unlocking this mission requires completing any three missions that take place in the Agrolekh sector. No extra fights are available for this mission; they spawn instead as extra empty rooms.
EVENT
This chamber appears to be a workshop. A large slab of gleaming metal has been partially carved into a statue of a glowering Necron, perhaps Lord Agrolekh. Several scarab-constructs are scurrying across the slab, chewing away the material as they continue in the process of creating the statue.
EVENT
The grim darkness of Agrolekh’s tomb is complete in this benighted region. Not only is there a total absence of light, but fluctuating rad-levels are interfering with the cohort’s optical augmentations. Even the team’s own light sources do not penetrate the unnatural gloom. They must traverse the next area blind.
[- INIT]
[- CP]
EVENT
A handful of bodies lie in the chamber ahead, evidently Skitarii who were caught in a furious volley of Gauss fire.
EVENT
A series of glossy black slabs fill this chamber, arranged in a semicircle around a statue of a Necron Destroy armed with a scythe-like weapon. The slabs are inscribed with thousands of Necron runes.
[+ CP]
OBJECTIVE
This chamber is dominated by the immense form of Lord Agrolekh, surrounded by images of the Necron war fleets conquering the stars.
Captrix 3: The Corrupted King
Prime Hermeticon Captrix has located the possible sarcophagus of Lord Ubjao. Enter his tomb and destory the diseased and insane lord before he can fully wake.
Location: Ubjao Sector
Objective: Eliminate Lord Ubjao.
Difficulty: Hard
Notes: Unlocking this mission requires completing any three missions that take place in the Ubjao sector. No extra fights are available for this mission; they spawn instead as extra empty rooms.
EVENT
The tracks of something huge run through this chamber, leaving gouges in the gore-smeared floor. Whatever it was, it left scraps of torn skin and globs of shredded muscle tissue in its wake.
EVENT
Several human skulls, still bloody evidently recently removed from their former owners, sit in a circle on the floor. They appear to have been deliberately placed.
[- HP]
EVENT
A relief of a glowering Necron Lord looms from the wall of this chamber, visible through the smears of filth and gore that cover so much of the Tomb of Ubjao.
EVENT
The crushed and mangled body of a Skitarii lies among the detritus of this chamber. Unlike the other dead encountered in the tombs, it shows no sign of the Gauss blasters of Necron warriors or the blades of the Flayed Ones. Instead, it looks to have fallen victim to massive blunt trauma.

Captrix 4: The Royal Vizier
Prime Hermeticon Captrix has identified the location of the sarcophagus of Lord Mhelob. Enter Mhelob’s tomb and destroy the Royal Vizier.
Location: Mhelob Sector
Objective: Eliminate Vizier Mhelob.
Difficulty: Hard
Notes: Unlocking this mission requires completing any three missions that take place in the Mhelob sector. No extra fights are available for this mission; they spawn instead as extra empty rooms.
EVENT
In the chamber ahead lies a Skitarii trooper, lying curled up on the tomb floor. Though apparently unhurt, the trooper is all but comatose and barely responds to the Tech-Priests’ presence.
[+ CP]
EVENT
The corpse of a Skitarii appears floting in mid-air in the chamber ahead. The dead trooper’s body is perforated by several huge ugly Gauss blasts, and he hovers above the ground with arms outstretched as if offering a blessing.
EVENT
Dozens of tiny mouths open up on the flesh of one of the troopers, gibbering and cackling as they pronounce the imminent doom of every human on Silva Tenebris.
EVENT
The area ahead appears to exist in two realities at once – the oppressive Tomb of Mhelob, and a grotesque charnel landscape of heaped-up human bodies beneath clouds of carrion birds
Captrix 5: The Grand Architect
Prime Hermeticon Captrix reports the Sarcophagus of Neftusk has been located in its tomb. Hunt down Lord Neftusk, the Grand Architect, and eliminate him.
Location: Neftusk Sector
Objective: Eliminate Grand Architect Neftusk.
Difficulty: Hard
Notes: Unlocking this mission requires completing any three missions that take place in the Neftusk sector. No extra fights are available for this mission; they spawn instead as extra empty rooms. The three prayer options before fighting Neftusk (Valour, Protection, Strength) don’t actually do anything.
EVENT
A narrow slab, like a low wall, runs much of the length of this chamber. Twelve tiny statues of various Necron construct-forms are standing on the slab, as if being displayed. Each of the small icons is cast in a different alloy, giving each a differing finish and appearance. Their purpose can only be guessed at.
[- HP]
[- CP]
EVENT
The cohort approaches a section of the tomb separated from the rest by a moat of churning corrosive chemicals. Crossing this defence is essential, but clearly dangerous.

Note: “Dive In” is perhaps the only choice in the entire game so obviously, transparently The Worst Decision you could possibly have made in any situation, that no less than three characters tell you off for being such an idiot.
EVENT
An automated turret covers the approaches to the intersection ahead. This product of Neftusk’s industriousness is bristling with Gauss blaster and tracks constantly for new targets.
EVENT
The defences around Neftusk’s sarcophagus chamber open up into a wide space, overlooked by several towers.
[- AWAKENING]
Captrix 6: Twilight of the Gods
The Tomb of Szaregon has finally been discovered. Enter the tomb and destroy Overlord Szaregon, master of the tomb-complex’s Necrons and the ultimate source of the threat posed by Silva Tenebris.
Location: Szaregon Sector
Objective: Find and Eliminate Overlord Szaregon.
Difficulty: Praise the Omnissiah!
Notes: Currently unclear exactly what triggers this mission.
[IMPERATIVE] More testing = required.
If the Awakening meter reaches 100%, you have no choice. Any bosses you did not defeat before accepting this mission appear on the map, and you have to kill all of them at the same time. Once they’re defeated, Szaregon appears.
EVENT
The image of Overlord Szaregon looms huge in the noosphere, as if his physical form as a corresponding information halo that infects the very information in the air. The dread and disorientation this causes threatens to degrade the cohort’s battlefield effectiveness.
[- HP ALL]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
EVENT
The voice of Overlord Szaregon booms from every vox-caster and comm-link in the tomb, creating a deafening crescendo that is nonetheless undistorted and clear.
EVENT
The words of Lord Szaregon transmit to every soul in and around his tomb, intrusive thoughts that seem to originate from the thinker’s own brain.
EVENT
The magnificence of the Tomb of Szaregon reaches a crescendo in this chamber, where the walls are encrusted with statues of Necron Lords, each with eyes glowing with some inner power. Concentric rings of hieroglyphics cover the floor.
Xerxetes 1: Enemies Closer
Subtribune Xerxetes request assistance in putting down a rebellion among the lower ranks in the Caestus Metalican’s enginarium decks.
Location: Ark Mechanicus Sector
Objective: Stop the rebellion.
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Difficulty is listed as Easy. This is a lie. Xenarite Tech-Priests are equipped with a Cog Occultaris, and cannot be targeted until after they attack once. Recommend you wait to do this mission until you have weapons that don’t need specific targets to fire, such as cone AOE weapons (like the flamer or phosphor blaster) or line weapons (like the eradication ray). If the Cog Occultaris is available, equipping it on all Tech-Priests and deploying no troops allow you to stealth your way through the mission, just as long as you don’t pick Decapitation.
CHOICE ONE: OBJECTIVE
The rebels are supported by a host of servitors, which form the majority of their firepower. These servitors must be dealt with if the nascent rebellion is to be put down.
CHOICE TWO: DEPLOYMENT
The layout of the enginarium decks suggests several different approaches to assaulting the rebel positions.
CHOICE THREE: ATTACK OF OPPORTUNITY
The cohort has the chance to strike a blow against the rebel positions before engaging the enemy.
Xerxetes 2: A Historical Perspective
Extract data on Epsilus Dammek-Yoth from the ship’s Archivum Moribundus.
Location: Ark Mechnicus Sector
Objective: Learn more about Epsilus.
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: As before, difficulty is once again listed as Easy. This is still a lie.
CHOICE ONE: OBJECTIVE
The Archivum Moribundus contains thousands of data repositories and millions of files. Seeking a particular piece of information is more an art than a science.
CHOICE TWO: DEPLOYMENT
The Archivum Moribundus is spread out over a wide area. Though there is a main entrance, several other ways in mean the hereteks could attack from anywhere.
CHOICE THREE: ATTACK OF OPPORTUNITY
A pair of hereteks is already in the Archivum, busy scouring the servers for information. They have opened up another server nearby which could easily be searched by a servitor without alerting the hereteks.
Xerxetes 3: Big Guns Never Tire
Epsilus’ hereteks have seized one of the Caestus Metalican’s gun decks. Assault the traitors and drive them out.
Location: Ark Mechanicus Sector
Objective: Cleanse the area of hereteks.
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: As before, difficulty is once again listed as Easy. This is still a lie.
CHOICE ONE: OBJECTIVE
The Hereteks are using corrupted servitors to hack the controls of one of the deck cannons. If they gain control if, the cannon’s enormous destructive power could be turned on the Caestus Metalican.
CHOICE TWO: DEPLOYMENT
The layout of the gun deck suggests a number of possible approaches.
CHOICE THREE: ATTACK OF OPPORTUNITY
The taking of the gun deck has left some heretek casualties near the entrance to the deck, while other elements of the surroundings may provide other opportunities for advantage before combat is joined.
Xerxetes 4: Ghost in the Machine
Access the Aetherium Thalamus, where an individual can interface directly with the Caestus Metalican’s machine-spirit, and narrow down the possible locations of Epsilus Dammek-Yoth.
Location: Ark Mechanicus Sector
Objective: Gather data on Epsilus’ location
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: As before, difficulty is once again listed as Easy. This is still a lie.
CHOICE ONE: OBJECTIVE
The Xenarite hereteks are attempting to breach the Aetherium Thalamus chamber. Their numbers are few and they are having little success in their attempts, but reinforcements must be on the their way.
CHOICE TWO: DEPLOYMENT
The cohort needs a plan of attack before they enter the Aetherium Thalamus.
CHOICE THREE: OPPORTUNITY
One of the hereteks was killed while scouting the Aetherium Thalamus and the corpse is still lying near the entrance. It could provide valuable intelligence, but recovering it could alert the enemy.
Xerxetes 5: Blind Spot
Epsilus Dammek-Yoth’s lair has been located in a spot blinded to the ship’s sensors, deep in the enginarium. Assault the blind spot and eliminate the arch-heretek.
Location: Ark Mechanicus Sector
Objective: End Epsilus Dammek-Yoth
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: There is no choice of objective or deployment location. You need to kill Epsilus Dammek-Yoth, and the cohort deploys near the door. Only Epsilus needs to be killed to finish the mission; the rest of the Xenarite Tech-Priests and servitors can technically be ignored.
CHOICE ONE: OPPORTUNITY
The ‘blind spot’ entrance is defended by a pair of heretek Tech-Priests, one armed with a long-range rad-rifle and the other with a melee tech-axe. There is opportunity only to eliminate one before the enemy is engaged.
CHOICE TWO: OPPORTUNITY
The enginarium deck provides plenty of cover, but trying to utilise it might give the enemy the upper hand if the cohort is spotted.
Tiresus 1: The First Seal
Xenobiologis Tiresus, a brilliant young Tech-Priest, has requested the retrieval of a Necron relic from the Tomb of Agrolekh. Its inscriptions should help illuminated the mysteries of the Necron language.
Location: Agrolekh Sector
Objective: Find the Necron relic.
Difficulty: Servitor easy
Notes: Mission is only visible when using noospheric view. The objective at the end tricks you by giving you a “Tech-Priests must escape” objective, but then asks you to kill all enemies. Recommend you deal with all the Necrons first.
EVENT
The chamber ahead is a huge hangar-like space containing several large glossy black stone obelisks. Though each is featureless, they must have some symbolic purpose.
[- HP]
EVENT
The next chamber has an inscribed stele on the wall, depicting a gargantuan figure looming over depictions of stylised Necrons
[+ CP]
[+ CP]
EVENT
Signs of Necron philosophy or even religion cover this chamber’s walls. Images of outsized figures with halos of crackling energy appear among the suns and stars, as if the Necrons are trying to illustrate beings of vast power.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
[+ INIT]
EVENT
The cohort comes across a particularly decrepit and corroded part of the Tomb of Agrolekh. Water has found its way into the tomb and badly degraded the structure. The chamber ahead looks unstable, but it must be traversed if the cohort is to reach the artefact’s location.
[+ INIT]
OBJECTIVE
That’s the artefact! I was perhaps unprepared for its size.
Tiresus 2: The Second Seal
Xenobiologis Tiresus needs more examples of Necron hieroglyphics to translate the Tesseract. He has asked for the retrieval of burial tablets from the Tomb of Ekropis.
Location: Ekropis Sector
Objective: Find artefacts with Necron hieroglyphics.
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Mission is only visible when using noospheric view. As before, it gives you a “Tech-Priests must escape” objective, but then asks you to kill all enemies. Recommend you deal with all the Necrons first.
EVENT
A complex model of spinning wheels and globes, evidently a representation of a planetary system, stands in the centre of this chamber. The corpse of a Skitarii lies just in front of it, in a pool of still warm blood.
EVENT
A raised plinth holds up several objects of Necron origin, perhaps another cache of grave goods interred with Lord Ekropis. Though they might be valuable or could yield up intelligence to diligent study, the Necrons could also have taken measures to protect them against intruders.
[+ INIT]
[+ BLACKSTONE]
EVENT
A number of niches fill the walls of this chamber, each containing an inert Necron construct.
EVENT
A low, narrow passageway ahead leads into a large circular chamber. Its close confines make it dangerous to investigate.
EVENT
A large metal coffin lies half-smashed, broken open by a shift in the landscape surrounding the tomb. The coffin lid shows an image that may represent Lord Ekropis, in which case this may be a symbolic burial place for the Lord of this tomb. Perhaps it contains its own grave goods?
Tiresus 3: The Third Seal
Tiresus needs examples of less common Necron vocabulary. They could be found in the rantings of Lord Ubjao being transmitted through his tomb, and Tiresus has asked a full version of the transmission be acquired.
Location: Ubjao Sector
Objective: Record the transmissions of Lord Ubjao.
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Mission is only visible when using noospheric view. As before, it gives you a “Tech-Priests must escape” objective, but then asks you to kill all enemies. Recommend you deal with all the Necrons first.
EVENT
A bizarre sight greets the cohort – a human corpse, stripped of most of its skin, shambling forward and spouting snatches of Ubjao’s data-rant.
[+ INIT]
EVENT
The local noosphere is infected with self-replicating junk data, as if the physical disease infesting the tomb has its reflection in the information space. Every communication between the cohort and the Caestus Metalican is sluggish and accompanied by bursts of screaming and chanting in unknown tongues.
[+ BLACKSTONE]
EVENT
A snatch of Ubjao’s transmission echoes through the tomb, turned into an audible form by hidden vox-casters.
OBJECTIVE
The fragmented transmission breaks through into the cohort’s comms-net. The distorted voice speaks in the cohort’s own language, as if automatically adapting to the listener.
[+ CP]
OBJECTIVE
Through the local noosphere, a distant but powerful voice invades the cohort’s consciousness, demanding the answer to the same question over and over.
[+ CP]
Tiresus 4: The Fourth Seal
Xenobiologis Tiresus needs further data for his translations, and believes they can be found in Vizier Mhelob’s historical records. Retrieve these records from Mhelob’s tomb.
Location: Mhelob Sector
Objective: Retrieve the records.
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Mission is only visible when using noospheric view. As before, it gives you a “Tech-Priests must escape” objective, but then asks you to kill all enemies. Recommend you deal with all the Necrons first.
EVENT
An inscribed panel in this chamber depicts hundreds of Necrons sleeping beneath the surface of Silva Tenebris, while stylised humanoid figures appear to be invading their slumbering-places below the ground. Could this be a depiction of the Adeptus Mechanicus exploring the tomb-complex? Could Mhelob have predicted the future?
[+ CP]
EVENT
Vizier Mhelob served as advisor to the lords of Silva Tenebris, perhaps explaining what looks like a grand conference chamber ahead. Several throne-like seats stand in a ring around a central seat, as if gathered around a leader.
[- HP]
EVENT
This region of Mhelob’s tomb shows signs of recent corrosion, perhaps from a leak of fuel or other fluid from the Necron machinery. The walls are discoloured and part of the floor have been completely eaten through, and the smell of harsh chemicals makes the air hard to breathe. Traversing the chamber should not be difficult, but there may be the opportunity here for something more.
EVENT
Mhelob, Vizier to the Court, must have been interested in cultures and species beyond his own. The chamber ahead contains several items of evidently non-Necron provenance. They could be valuable, or perhaps dangerous.
EVENT
The chamber ahead has the air of a library, with slabs of datamedium arranged in niches on the walls and tiny scarab-constructs scurrying across them as if tending to the volumes. The repository of Mhelob’s history could well be nearby.
Tiresus 5: The Fifth Seal
Xenobiologis Tiresus needs samples of technological language to continue his translation of the Tesseract. Thankfully the Tomb of Neftusk may contain such bounty.
Location: Neftusk Sector
Objective: Find samples of technical Necron scripture.
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Mission is only visible when using noospheric view. As before, it gives you a “Tech-Priests must escape” objective, but then asks you to kill all enemies. Recommend you deal with all the Necrons first.
EVENT
Complex diagrams of construction techniques adorn the walls of this chamber, not the hieroglyphic-heavy documentation Tiresus is seeking but still information of interest.
EVENT
The cohort must be closing in on the repository of data medium documents, for this chamber contains a huge slab of glossy black material from which the medium appears to have been carved.
[- INIT]
EVENT
The inner skeleton of the tomb is revealed in this area, as if to demonstrate Neftusk’s skill in creating the tomb-complex. Missing wall panels reveal massive supports, and transparent floors show off the tremor-absorbing foundations beneath. This might be useful to record for future reference, or even present an opportunity for sabotage.
[+ INIT]
EVENT
The chamber ahead displays an intricate but thankfully non-functinonal model of a weapon, which going by the scale of the landscape on which it is mounted, represents a device on the scale of the Imperium’s titanic orbital lasers.
[+ BLACKSTONE]

EVENT
A thick, cylindrical cable runs up the wall of this chamber. Going by the readings from the cohort’s scanners, it is carrying a huge amount of energy.

Tiresus 6: The Sixth Seal
Tiresus has almost completed his translation of the inscriptions on the Tesseract. He requires language sample from the grave eulogies of Overlord Szaregon before his work can be finished.
Location: Szaregon Sector
Objective: Find language samples for final Tesseract translation.
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Mission is only visible when using noospheric view. Extra Fights will spawn if selected, but rooms in the Tomb of Szaregon have no consoles to destroy. As before, it gives you a “Tech-Priests must escape” objective, but then asks you to kill all enemies. Recommend you deal with all the Necrons first.
EVENT
The image of an ornate and powerful Necron Lord, a magnificent and terrifying figure, covers the floor of this chamber. Could this be a representation of Overlord Szaregon?
EVENT
The ornate decoration of the Tomb of Szaregon reaches a crescendo in this chamber, with gilded Necron skulls looming down from every surface. It would be difficult to create a more oppressive place if one tried. Perhaps this decoration conceals something, or includes valuable materials?
[+ CP]
[+ AWAKENING]
EVENT
The Tomb of Szaregon is suffused with a dark and troubling energy, impossible to ignore even for Tech-Priests with emotional dampening procedures. It reaches a crescendo in this chamber, where the mirror-polished walls show reflections of hazy humanoid forms that aren’t there. The cohort must deal with the unholiness of this place, somehow.

[- HP]
EVENT
A mighty throne stands in the chamber ahead. Perhaps it is fit for Overlord Szaregon himself, or perhaps it is for one of the lords beneath him. Its pull is almost hypnotic, and the cohort try to resist as they walk towards it in spite of themselves.

EVENT
This chamber displays the regalia of a king – a scepter, a high crown, and a segmented orb, all displayed reverently. The pull of these magnificent objects is impossible to resist, but which one to take?

Tiresus 7: The Seventh Seal
The being known as the Sufferer has emerged from the Tesseract. Destroy it before it reaches full power and annihilates the Caestus Metalican.
Location: Szaregon Sector
Objective: Eliminate the Sufferer.

Notes: Mission is only visible when using noospheric view. This mission has no Narrative Events or Glyph rooms. Extra Fights will spawn if selected, but rooms in the Tomb of Szaregon have no consoles to destroy.
