Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr Guide

Berserk Tokens for Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr

Berserk Tokens

Overview

This is a guide for an endgame character build utilising Berserker Tokens as a strong foundation.

Introduction

Hello and welcome to my first guide.
With the latest updates for the game I wanted to try out the new weapon and perk rework.
I found a nice combination and as I have not found many guides I wanted to share what I have found out. If you have found ways to further improve the build you’re welcomed to share.

Core of the Build

The goal of the build is gaining Berserk Tokens fast and reliably.
This allows to use it’s strong benefits and is the foundation to further develop the build.

Berserk Tokens and Items

Berserk State

If a player has a Berserk token active, they are considered to be in a Berserk state. This means gaining a 10% movement speed bonus regardless of the number of active tokens, and gaining a 1% damage and damage reduce bonus per active token. The active Berserk token number is decreased by 1 per second.

Info can be found here: Patch 2.0 Compendium [neocoregames.com]

With better Items we can further improve them.
Here are some example of good Relic Enchants.

Self Explanatory. The more Berserk Tokens we have the more life we can regenerate.
It is possible to drop the Artificial Organs I Perk.

In Focused State we gain 50% bonus for HP and Suppression regeneration.
The enchant “Enter Focused State while Suppression is green” is also good.

With this enchantment we can skip the entire Critical Hits Skill Tree.

This is a bit situational but with a fast firing gun it can become quit handy.

So with my current gear 1 Berserk Token gives me :

  • 1% Base Damage
  • 1% Damage Reduction
  • 2.2 Critical Chance and Strength
  • +11 Base Life Regeneration
  • +9,2 HP on Hit

This picture is in combat with ca. 150 Berserker Tokens.

As last gearing option i recommend to put at least 2 Invictus Shards into Belt, Inoculator or Main Implant. The Suppression Regeneration is needed on higher difficulty.

Perks and Attribute Points

Attribute Points

  • Survival: 15

There is nothing I really want for this Build but Tier 3 is Ok as extra movement speed is always welcomed. You also get +20 HP per point invested which even can be improved through Itemization.

  • Bloodlust: 15

Tier 1 and 3 are useful for the build so i recommend getting it. Adrenalin gain is very high so you can dodge roll all the Time. The small damage and heal is Ok to have.

  • Accuracy: 25

All tiers are Ok but not really special. 1 Point in Accuracy gives 1% Base Damage and that’s all we want. All Leftover Points can be dumped here.

Perks

Mandatory

  • Radical

With its rework it grants now 1 Berserker Token per 5% life lost. This is a very reliable and fast way to produce these Tokens. The 1.5% Adrenalin Point Regeneration per Radical Morality Point is also very strong.

  • Artificial Organs II

It gives 100 % HP generation and a good chunk of life. The Build needs this to survive.

Situational

If you started as Assassin and still need to gear up i recommend Artificial Organs I.
It provides flat 50 HP Generation which in combination with AO II gives you + 100 HP Regeneration from the start. The Adrenalin Generation is also useful.
If you are well geared the last slot is situational and you can adjust it to your play style.

Skill Tree

These are the Skills i find mandatory

Suppression

Grim Resolve: 20% Damage Bonus and 10% Damage reduction on Green is very useful.

Suppress Pain: +10 Base Life Regeneration

Health

I can recommend everything in this tree. You need most of the points to maintain your Suppression green. Skip Field Surgery since we never need to use the Inoculator.

Defence

We need Reanimator Glands to survive One Shoot Mechanics on higher difficulty.
(Looking at you Plaguebearer)

Levelling

I switched my build at level 90 so I can give no advises on levelling. If anyone want to try it I think you need 49 Skill points . So if i’am correct the build can start at level 46. Health and Defence Tree are first priority, followed directly by Suppression.

After that it depends on Items and prefered play style. If you don*t have the Critical Relic Enchant I recommend to put points into the Critical Hit Tree.

It is mandatory to become a radical Inquisitor so take that in mind when playing the main story.

If someone wants to try it please share your experience.

End

I hope this guide can inspire you to test it and use this foundation for new builds.
I had real fun with it playing the reworked las gun.

Have a nice day
