The Attractive Update – What You Need to Know

Overview

Here are some things you need to know about The Attractive Update.

Introduction

Hello all you fellow Besiegers! Besiege has recieved a new update recently, which changes the texture of some blocks, fixes bugs, and most importantly, adds 3 new blocks! These blocks are the Log Block, Vacuum Block, and Repeating Crossbow block. I am here to discuss what is possible with these blocks, tricks, and their possible uses.

Log Block

Here is the Log Block. In all honesty, there is nothing really special about it. It is just a 3 block long wooden block, just with a different texture. The Log Block can also catch on fire, like the wooden block. The Log Block will probably just help with building long wooden structures or looking nice.

Vacuum Block

Now for the Vacuum Block. It is what the name suggests; a vacuum. You can pull objects like animals, people, blocks, trees, etc. towards you with this block. You can also use the Vacuum Block to attach to the ground by pulling your machine to the ground. The Vacuum Block does not however affect (I think) projectiles from blocks like cannon balls, crossbow bolts, water/steam, and shrapnel. The Vacuum Block is like a Water Cannon because they both have an adjustable power and you can choose you want to either toggle them or not with a key. The Vacuum Block is not flammable nor is affected by fire. One trait that is unique about the Vacuum Block is that if a natural flaming block (Flaming ball, torch) is in front of the vacuum, then it is extinguished. The Vacuum Block does not extinguish flaming wooden blocks, wheels, etc. Another trait that is unique about the Vacuum Block is that it can suck through objects. This can help with pulling in objects that are maybe explosive or flammable. This can also help with propelling an object up something, like with this plow.

Repeating Crossbow (Block)

Lastly, the Repeating Crossbow. It is a crossbow with 30 bolts that can be used from exploding bombs to killing enemies. The crossbow has a controllable rate of fire and power. You can also toggle the crossbow to fire like a machine gun, or you can fire each shot manually. Unlike the cannon and the shrapnel cannon, the Repeating Crossbow usually does not kill enemies with their shot, even at full power. It usually takes 2 shots at full power to kill a Ipsilon Knight. This block is breakable and flammable, so be careful! Once it breaks, it is unusable. A trick you can do with the crossbow is put a fire source (Like a torch or flamethrower) in front of it when it shoots, and then it will shoot out flaming bolts. You can use this to set fire to your enemies or to ignite a piece of wood on your machine. You can also do this by setting the crossbow on fire, but this is not recommended and you should probably do this in invinsibility mode.

Conclusion

Well now that you have (Hopefully) learned something about these blocks, go try them out! Maybe you can find something that I missed. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this guide, and feel free to leave any comments or questions!
