Overview
Since this haven,t been patched by Codemasters, this is the workaround to play the game in any resolution you can’t select despite being native ones.I made the tutorial mainly for 1080P but just use a resolution twice bigger than yours with same aspect ratio.
How to put it in 1920×1080 or any native resolution you can’t select.
[TUTORIAL] How to put it in 1920×1080
1. Go in your videocard settings. (NVIDIA control Panel or AMD Catalyst)
2. Select Display > Change Resolution
3. Press customize and make a custom resolution to 2880 x 1620 and apply it.
4. Be sure the windows is now at this resolution, sometime it go back to the previous one instantly and you need to reapply it.
5. Start F1 Race Stars.
6. The resolution should show more resolutions INCLUDING 1920×1080.
7. Select it then put back your windows resolution to normal (I assume it’s 1920×1080.)
The devs seems to blame the drivers, but it is not, there’s clearly a problem with their hardware auto detect. And this is a pure example how it SHOULD NOT be implanted in any game.
Some may don’t know what’s resolution it is but hey, it’s less trouble to the devs to explain how to change it instead of putting a broken hardware auto-detect.
I really like Codemasters, they are really good for racing games (Overload series is a must too).
But THIS is too much lol.
So please Codemasters, fix this or just remove the autodetect and let us choose the resolution how we want.
You should put the configs in a .ini or .txt files instead of XML. Way more simple i case of faulty hardware auto-detect function.
Thanks, and for those who have AMD, this bug happen on AMD GPU too, i just don’t have AMD catalyst so i can’t say how to do it step by step bbut it might help.
Anyone who can explain it for AMD feel free to do.
It’s also apply every resolutions even using more than one screens, just make a bigger resolution using the same aspect ratio
