Danish Faction Guide

Overview

This guide will help you not only start, but also help you get good and understand the Danish.It takes skill to use these Viking warriors.

Understanding

The Danish have the best infantry and recon infantry in the game as of yet.
They also have the best artillery of the Scandinavian factions.
They have a short variety of aircraft but they are still affective when used correctly.

The Danish tanks don’t have the best of firepower and damage, but have a lot of armor and accuracy.

There Logistics are very expensive however, if you play right, Logistics will not be as much of a big deal.

If you are a tank person, the Danish might not be the best pick for you. If you are used to using support decks, or other scandinavian decks, the Danes maybe an easier switch for you.

Creating A Deck

The best Danish decks generally have only one bonus, and that is Nationality Bonus, obviously, you’d choose Denmark.

Logisitcs
Since the Danish have very expensive Logistics, aim for the cheapest, or, if you are good at saving command points, then get the most expensive. You will obviously want the Jupiter.

Infantry
The Danish are the superior infantrymen in the game. You won’t need many Danish Infantry to take out large or many targets while on the battlefield, so getting the most expensive infantry carriers won’t hurt. Definitely get at least one spot with a cheap infantry carrier in case of emergency, or for a speedy transport.

Support
Having the best AA and decent Artillery in the game, you definitely want to get some. the Danish HAWK’s are definitely a great AA and the two other artillery are quite nice as well.

Tank
Out of the 3 options you have, the Leapard is superior. The two Centurions are very cheap and very weak. Get a few Leapard’s and maybe a Centurion or two if you are intending to win with size of army.

Recon
For Scouting, the Scout Defender is the best. And for affective special forces, I’d recommend the Jaeger’s. (I am a former Jaegerkorpset soldier, so I am being quite selfish here) Since we have a large variety of Recon, you can choose the rest.

Vehicle
The Danish have probably the best AT (anti tank) vehicles in the game. With there 55 point AT you can take 4 T80’s out with two of them in only a minute or so. Get tons of these, other than the 15 points ones that are terrible. Use this for most things and protect them with tanks.

Helicopter
The only helicopter the Danes have is the Defender, which isn’t very good. They are still affective if in groups, but alone they are vulnerable and weak. I recommend using planes instead of Helicopter’s.

Plane
The three planes the Danish have are quite decent. Each has there own values and should be used in different ways. Get a few of each.

Strategies and Winning

Strategy #1: Don’t start with to many tanks like you would with other nations, the Danish tanks are vulnerable from above so the enemy will get a lot of points if they happen to drop a bomb ontop of them. Get lots of Infantry and Anti Aircraft. Around 2-3 Air Support.

Strategy #2: About 10 soldiers will defend a Command Unit very well for a long time, so don’t worry about getting lots of defence for the command units as Denmark.

Strategy #3: Spread the artillery across the sector you are holding, this will allow you to kill almost anyone that threatens your base, due to the fact the Danish Artillery has great range, accuracy, and damage.

Strategy #4: Send Jaeger’s around the side of the map, land them (by helicopter transport), and attack the behind, of them to destroy their command unit, or to turn there attention that way as a diversion.

Strategy #5: What I call the “Viking Massacre”. Get around 30-40 infantry soldiers in a forest, then send the emtied Jupiter’s out and send them to move fast to an enemy tank[s], once the enemy player has told the tank to fire at them, turn them around and move fast back to the forest, but keep going past the forest, then once the tank comes into the infantries way, it’s all over.

Denmark is such a small nation, there are lots and lots of strategies for them since they cannot win with strength or size. Create your own strategies over time of using the Danish. If you have a good strategy, but it in the comments and I may add it, if, it’s a strategy, and good. 😉
