Overview
Teeworlds looks neat and cute, why not make it look nasty and ugly?
Installing
Go to the location where DDNet is installed:
Open ddnet then data
You should then see something like this:
Just replace the existing files by the ones you want, restart your game and voila, it’s as easy as that!
Note that everything except for skins are client-side, meaning that each person sees their own custom files
Skins
dataskins
If you haven’t already, you should download the official skin database[ddnet.tw] because there are very few by default.
Just add your skins to the skins folder, don’t forget to restart your game as well ๐
You can add other skins[teeskins.de] and make your own but keep in mind that others will not see them unless they also have them in their folder
Textures
You can find a lot of community-made assets here[teeskins.de]
or just make your own using paint or something ๐

dataparticles.png

Entities
dataeditorentities_clearddnet.png
Don’t forget to keep a backup of your file because if new tiles were to be added to the game, your existing ddnet.png would be erased
If you get confused by the tiles, please refer yourself to the Wiki[wiki.ddnet.tw]
Sounds
dataaudio
Modifying Teeworld’s sounds can be pretty tricky because of the audio files’ weird format (WavPack)[www.wavpack.com]
You can’t just rename a file’s extension to .wv by the way ( อกยฐ อส อกยฐ), you have to convert your file to WavPack
Fonts
datafonts
The game will only read DejaVuSans.ttf, not DejaVuSans.otf
You can rename an .otf file to .ttf and it will still function correctly
Conclusion
Many people have made fun of me for how my game looks and sounds
XDDDD!!!!!! they’re all jealous
I play most of the time in entities (without the map’s design) in order to consistently know which tiles are which ๐
Thanks for reading, this is the first guide I make on steam :p
