Overview
Would you like to parttake in cheese making but are afraid you´ll commit accidental suicide on minute one?If you are playing with the vanilla fort, or a fort that has a core 16 spaces (4 2×2 boxes) above the ground, you can use this simple setup 😀
Using space before the swing
An importand thing to note is that after the swing there will be a 6×4 area you cannot build in.
To maximise efficiency, start off by placing tech or storage where you will send your core at later.
In this example, I have placed an upgrade center and will add a workshop.
While waiting for recources you can sell off the metal in the front, this will be necessary later anyway:
First select the note on the outside, then the individual armor on the inside to remove everything efficiently like this:
The additional metal should be enough for some nice tech, mind that you won´t get a turbine up for a while if you´re swinging your core.
Setting up for the swing
You have used the space before swinging, now let´s come to another importand part of the core swing: The right setup.
As you can see here, the workshop was able to be placed with the metal from selling off the front armor. Mind that you need to do a swing very early because miniguns and mortars will leave you vulnerable to death and regret.
So also what is importand to mind: I placed a 3 long bracing to the left, one below the core. This is because the core is resting on a 3 long bracing and the hight is just what you need for the swing. If you angle it slightly up you can make sure nothing goes horribly wrong, but straight will work too.
If in your map the hight is the same but the core is resting on a lengh 2, just make the bracing the same lengh.
Make sure to rope each side to the bracing, left to left and right to right, you don´t need to cross rope it.
Performing the swing
You have set up everything and are almost complete with your cheesy beauty of a fort! There is just a little bit more to mind.
First off all: *Remove The Bracing On The Left!*
If you delete the one on the right, you will EXPLODE.
Safety first my dudes.
Now, your core is in the process of swinging. Don´t mess with it. Let gravity do it´s job (btw, have I mentioned this only works with gravity between 1 and a bit more than 940 yet? Normal is below 940 don´t worry. Obviously don´t do this on reverse grav or on a hanging fort except you have reverse grav on a hanging fort lol)
You can remove this little triangle thing after it swung a bit. It helps with directing the core in the process of the swinging but is bothering in the connection process.
So now you have just your core and 2 ropes attached to it.
Next thing to do is to attach your core to the foundation of your fort, *but don´t directly attach it to your fort! If your fort crumbles apart your core shalt not collapse with it!!* just the connection over the foundation will be good enough 😀
Abusing the power of cheese
You have completed the swing! Good job my dude 😀
If you want to, you can remove the ropes now, but you don´t have to.
You have 2 tech structures conjoined with your core, such efficient! Much cool <3
Now you have successfully channeled the powers of TINY FORT!
You are just as powerfull but your teammates have less trouble with your expansion and if you collapse, your core doesnt care.
There is nothing standing between you and the glory of weapon batteries that won´t risk the health of your core. Make sure to build up high for turbines and plan your design for weapon placement.
