Overview
Hey guys !I’m a begginer achievements hunter … Fallout NV is one of my favorite games and I have got all achievements in it … Now I would like to help you ! This guide will help you with all Fallout: New Vegas achievements ( including DLC). My English isn’t perfect but I hope you will understand me ;). This is not a walkthrough, if you have any problems with quests Fallout’s wiki can help you. Let’s do this !
Info about the game and achievements
All achievements are offline
This game is not really hard, achievements are medium difficulty
You need all DLCs to get 100% achievements
Difficulty doesn’t affect achievements but you have to complete the game on hardcore mode
You have to beat the game 4 times ( 4 campaigns )
It took me 115 hours to get 100% but I think it can be done in 60+ hours
Using console disable achievements
No glitchy achievements here
Bunch of tips
- Save often
- Speech (rhetoric) is really helpful
- If you need money play in casino ( Luck is really helpful )
- If you don’t want to play the prologue two times grab hardcore mode at the beggining
- Hardcore mode isn’t really hard. You need to drink, sleep and eat. It shouldn’t be a problem
- Gun runner’s arsenal is awesome
- Anti-Material rifle is the best weapon in game ( you can buy it in gun runners )
- Companions are your salvation
- Always have some ammo
- DLCs are quite hard but you can get cool stuff there
Hardcore mode
Play the game from start to finish in Hardcore Mode
If you don’t want to play ,, the prologue ” ( Quests before you can choose a faction ) multiple times, hit hardcore mode at the beggining. The game will ask you about it. Ok, so… It is not really hard. Maybe it looks like but it isn’t. After some time you will get necessary stuff and it will be trivial. You can’t switch off hardcore mode if you want the achievement.
Differences:
- Stimpaks heal over time
- Radaway heals radiation poisoning over time
- Doctor’s Bags heal limbs partially
- Ammunition has weight
- Companions can die
- You have to eat, drink and sleep
- It’s hard to heal crippled limb
Looks scarry ? Don’t worry ( be happy ), I said, After some time you will get necessary stuff and it will be trivial.
Bunch of tips for hardcore mode:
- Get companions ( Companions’ description below )
- Find two favorite energy or fire weapons and carry ammo only for them
- Get melee weapon
- survival can be useful
- Always have some ammo
- Always have some food
- Always have some water
- Fast-travel to any location with bed if you want to sleep
- You can drink from the fountain on the Strip
- In critical sutiation cannibalism can be helpful
- Companions can be tanky or deal high damage ( remember, they can die )
- Save often
It is all, after you complete the game and get achievement you can switch off hardcore mode.

Story related, can’t be missed.
Complete ,,They Went That-a-Way” quest
Story related, can’t be missed.
Compete ,,Ring-a-Ding-Ding!” quest
Story related, can’t be missed.
Complete ,,You’ll Know It When It Happens” quest
You can complete this quest only with NCR, Mr. Yes or Mr. House. You need good relations with NCR. It can’t be done with Cesar’s Legion.
Factions
After some time you will have to choose faction.
You can choose:
- NCR
- Caesar’s Legion
- Mr. House
- Yes Man
It’s good time to make an important save. You have to play in all four factions if you want to get 100%.

Complete ,,Come Fly With Me” quest
It’s hard to miss this quest but still possible. You can get it by Manny Vargas from Novac. It’s story related but you can ignore it and find another way. Just accept it and do it. It’s not too hard. By the way it’s really enjoyable quest 😉
Complete ,,G.I. Blues” quest
Another hard to miss quest but it is still possible to miss it. Probably you will take this quest for false passport. You can get it from the King. You can find him in the King’s School of Impersonation.
Complete ,,Volare” quest
And this is the last hard to miss quest. Your faction will ask you for Boomer’s help. You have to get Boomers fame. The best option is Boomer’s museum. Go there and ask all of possible questions, you will get a lot of fame. After that complete any quest/s ( depends of gained fame ).
Complete ,,Talent Pool” quest
You can grab this quest in the Aces ( The Tops casino theater ). It’s good quest for make some money. You have to recruit 4 characters ( one by one ) :
- Billy Knight – outside The Tops casino
- Hadrian – Atomic Wrangler casino
- The lonesome drifter – east of El Dorado Dry Lake next to a Sunset Sarsaparilla billboard
- Bruce Isaac – second floor of the Dino Dee-lite Motel in Novac
Complete ,,Return to Sender” quest
It’s quite boring quest… Speak with Tech Sergeant Reyes at the Camp Forlorn Hope command center to start it. You have to upgrade 6 ranger stations ( just talk with some guys ) and back for more instruction. After that go to Camp Golf and confront Chief Hanlon.
Complete ,,That Lucky Old Sun” quest
It’s quite a big quest. You can get it from Lt. Haggerty or Fantastic in HELIOS One. Science can help here. You have to connect to the HELIOS One mainframe from the eastern and western reflector control terminals, restore power and send power to a destination.Ech destination has its own reward. You can choose :
- McCarran and the Strip – A lot of NCR fame and experiance
- Freeside and Westside – 3 stimpaks, 2 doctor’s bags, experiance and moderate amount of Followers of the Apocalypse fame
- Full Region – Big Book of Science, 3 stimpaks, 2 doctor’s bags, and a large amount of Followers of the Apocalypse fame
- Archimedes II – You will lose NCR fame but you can use archimedes as a weapon
- Full Region, Emergency Output Level – 3 stimpaks, 2 doctor’s bags, and no fame gain
Companions achievements
Recruit any companion

There are in total 8 companions. You don’t need to recruit DLCs’ companions. In my opinion the best loadout is Rex + Boone or ED-E + Raul.

- Craig Boone – location: Novac ( in T-Rex at night ) – recruiting: ,,One for My Baby” quest.
- Lily Bowen – location: Jacobstown – recruiting: ,,Guess Who I Saw Today” quest.
- Raul Alfonso Tejada – location: Black Mountain – recruiting: Free him from prison building.
- Rose of Sharon Cassidy (Cass) – location: Mojave Outpost – recruiting: ,,Heartache by the Number”quest.
- Veronica Santangelo – location: 188 trading post – recruiting: Talk to her, she will ask you about cooperate.
- ED-E – location: Mojave Express (Primm) – recruiting: 65 repair/55 sience & 35 repair/
Three pieces of scrap metal, two sensor modules, and one scrap electronics.
- Rex – location: The King’s School of Impersonation – recruiting: ,,Nothin’ But a Hound Dog” quest.
Level achievements

Ok, so… For all three achievement you have to get 30th level. There aren’t any tips. If you want to get all achievement it shouldn’t be a problem. Just complete quests, kill monsters and keep getting achievements. Levels will gain like crazy ! You have to do all DLCs so it’s really hard to miss 30th level.
Casino and Caravan achievements
Don’t have money ? Casino is the goal ! After playing in casino you will be rich like crazy !
Play 10 spins of Roulette
Use roulette 10 times.
Play 10 spins of Slots
Use slots 10 times.
Play 10 hands of Blackjack
Play Blackjack 10 times.
Get banned from all the Strip’s casinos
It’s one of my favorite achievements. You have to be banned from all casinos on the strip. High Luck ( I mean in game statistic ) is very helpful ( I had 7 when I played in casinos and it was really easy ). I recommend to use Blackjack. You will be rewarded for your wins with cool stuff !
List of Casinos:
- Gomorrah:
– 2,250+ chips = 2x brahmin steak
– 4,500+ chips = Mentats, Jet and 2x wine
– 6,750+ chips = Combat armor, reinforced
– 9,000+ chips = Permament ban for playing in casino ( your goal ) - The Tops:
– 2,500+ chips = Vodka
– 5,000+ chips = Brahmin steak and wine
– 7,500+ chips = High Roller’s suite key
– 10,000+ chips = Permament ban for playing in casino ( your goal ) - Ultra-Luxe:
– 3,750+ chips = Atomic cocktail
– 7,500+ chips = Brahmin Wellington
– 11,250+ chips = Bon Vivant suite key
– 15,000+ chips = Permament ban for playing in casino ( your goal )
Win 3 games of Caravan

Win 30 games of Caravan
So you have to win in total 30 games of Caravan. Caravan is quite hard game. At the beggining I thought it is impossible to win. After some time I started to catch what’s going on and it started to be easier. You can find many guides ,,how to play Caravan” and lots of tactics. Just play until you win. With each win it will be easier. I won’t explain how to play it because I wasn’t good at it :p.
Map explorating achievements
Discover 50 locations
See below.
Discover 125 locations
You have to discover 125 locations for both achievements. I think that you will discover more that 50 by simply playing or doing quests. There is one perk at lvl 30 and it will make this achievement simple. At lvl 30 you can grab the ,,Explorer” perk. It will show you all locations in game. You just have to go there. Fast travel to location next to location that you want to discover and just go there. Repeat until you reach 125 locations. By the way I think that DLCs locations count too. WIth DLCs locations it will be easier.
Collectables achievements
Time for the best and the easiest part of the game ! I’m 100 % sure that you will enjoy it ! Oh, my fail. It’s the most annoying and quite hard part. Of course I’m talking about collectables !
Discover all snow globes
For this achievement you have to get 7 base game snow globes. You don’t need 4 more from DLCs. You can sell them to Jane ( Mr. House’s robot ) for extra money but it’s not necessary. They are easy to find.
Locations:
- Goodsprings – At the cemetery, near water tower.
- Hoover Dam – In the Hoover Dam Visitor Center, on the welcome desk.
- Mormon Fort – Inside the tower where Julie Farkas has her office on bookcase.
- Mt. Charleston – In Jacobstown lodge, on the desk near the front-of-house terminals, in the large reception lobby.
- Nellis Air Force Base – On the corner table, inside Pete’s museum.
- Test Site – In Lucky 38 cocktail lounge next to the cash register.
- The Strip – In Vault 21, inside Sarah’s locked bedroom, between the two beds, on a small table.
Complete ,,The Legend of the Star” quest
This achievement is really … hard ? I would say time-consuming… You can grab this quest in the Sunset Sarsparilla Headquarters. You have to find Festus (he is a robot). Talk to him and grab the quest. And now … You have to get 50 special caps. It’s boring and time consuming. I won’t write all locations because there are tons of them. You can find it in network ( I recommend Fallout New Vegas wiki ). You can find some of them and buy tons of sunset sarsparilla. Sometimes when you drink it you recive special cap. I did this that way. After this go back to Festus and talk to him. After this the mission will fail and another mission will pop up, where you claim your prize. Head to its location inside the Headquarters, and the achievement will unlock.
Achievements that require effort or grinding
Time for some grinding. It is another time-consuming and quite hard part but don’t worry. It’s the last part in base game.
I’m 99% sure that you have to do all of this in one playthrough.
Install 20 weapon mods
For this achievement you have to install 20 weapon mods. There is my way. You will need a lot of money so do this after The courier who broke the bank achievement or Dead Money DLC ( there are expensive golden ignots at the end ). Make a save. Go to GRA ( Gun Runners Arsenal ) and buy a lot of weapons and mods for them. Install the mods to the weapons. After getting the achievement load your save. You will have the achievement and money back. If you don’t have money it may be a problem. You can always sell all your stuff and do this, then load back your save.
Repair 30 items
You have to repair 30 items. Kill guys with potential needed stuff ( We need weapons and armor ). Loot bodies. Grab their items. Repair them. That’s all. It’s not really hard and you should do it during the game. There is extremely useful perk at 90 repair skill ,,Jury Rigging”. It Repairs any item using a roughly similar item. With that perk it will be trivial.
Craft 20 items
For this achievement you need to craft 20 items. You need a workbench for it. You can find it in Goodsprings. Use it to craft 20 items. It’s easy, just do some things with ammo.
Make 50 Speech challenges
Ok, for this achievement you have to make 50 succesful Speech challanges. What do you need ? High speech skill. Max Speech at the beggining of the game ( I did it and it was really helpful ) and go through the story. You should unlock it by playing. A speech challenge is an option of dialogue with [Speech X] before it.
Pick 50 pockets
You have to pick pocket 50 items. There is s great ( and really common ) strategy to get this achievement. Go to Vault 21 reception area. There is a girl with ,, Bubblegum ” item. You can pick pocket it. Why bubblegum ? Because it will never disappear ! You can pick pocket it 50 times and achievement will pop up. High Stealth skill and Stealth Boy makes this achievement easier. But remember to save often, she can detect you.
Sell 10,000 caps worth of goods
In my opinion it is hard to miss this achievement. I’m 100 % sure that you will sell useless stuff ( for example weapons or armors you don’t need ) and one day achievement will pop up. You can do it over time so it shouldn’t be a problem. Just kill guys and loot them, find stuff, steal stuff, find marchant and sell what do you want.
Pick 25 locks
For this one you have to pick 25 locks. The only way is to do it over time. What do you need ? A lot of bobby pins and high lockpick skill. It may help:
You will find tons of locks in the game ( + a lot in DLCs ). Just unlock them. Believe me … 25 is not much.
Hack 25 terminals
For this one you have to hack 25 terminals. The only way is to do it over time. As you can see this achievement is similiar to No Tumbler Fumbler achievement. What do you need? High science skill. It may help:
It’s good to save before hacking. If you fail, terminal will lock itself.
Heal 10,000 points of damage with Stimpaks
You have to use a lot of stimpaks. Go to doctor with money and buy tons of stimpaks. Hit yourself and use them. Repeat until you reach 10,000 points. You can do this over time and use stimpaks when you need them.
Heal 10,000 points of damage with food
In my opinion it is the worst achievement in the game. I hate it … There is my way ( I think that you can find better/easier but I did it this way ): Get a lot of money. Remove all items from your inventory ( store it or something ) without some explosives ( You need something for self damage, for example explosives or rocket launcher ). Go to Camp McCarran. Find William Farber. Buy all his food. Hit yourself and eat all food. Wait 3 days ( in game of course ) and buy his food again. Repeat until you reach 10,000 points. High survival skill is really helpful here. This is hard but I did it this way. You can use it or find better way in network. Honestly, I do not know if my way still works.
Damage achievements
Time for some Cause 10,000 Damage with … achievements.
GREAT IDEA !
Make an important save on the strip, there are many people so you can kill them all. After getting the achievement load your save and do it again with another damage achievement. After all achievements you can load it again and everything will be fine.
Cause 10,000 damage with Unarmed weapons
There is a easy way for all damage achievements – be hidden. Take any fists weapon and find enemies ( GREAT IDEA ! above ). For damage boost you have to be hidden. When you are hidden you deal more damage because of sneak attack critical . Kill guys this way until you get the achievement.
Cause 10,000 damage with Melee Weapons
There is a easy way for all damage achievements – be hidden. Take any melee weapon and find enemies ( GREAT IDEA ! above ). For damage boost you have to be hidden. When you are hidden you deal more damage because of sneak attack critical . Kill guys this way until you get the achievement.
Cause 10,000 damage with Guns
There is a easy way for all damage achievements – be hidden. I think that it is the most common damage achievement. Take any gun and find enemies ( GREAT IDEA ! above ). For damage boost you have to be hidden. When you are hidden you deal more damage because of sneak attack critical . Kill guys this way until you get the achievement.
Cause 10,000 damage with Energy Weapons
There is a easy way for all damage achievements – be hidden. You can steal many energy weapons from Silver Rush. Take any energy weapon and find enemies ( GREAT IDEA ! above ). For damage boost you have to be hidden. When you are hidden you deal more damage because of sneak attack critical . Kill guys this way until you get the achievement.
Cause 10,000 damage with Explosives
There is a easy way for all damage achievements – be hidden. Buy explosives from Gun Runners or any other marchant. Take all your explosives and find enemies ( GREAT IDEA ! above ). For damage boost you have to be hidden. When you are hidden you deal more damage because of sneak attack critical . Kill guys this way until you get the achievement.
DLC – Gun Runners’ Arsenal achievements
Time for some DLCs ! Gun Runners’ Arsenal add to game five hard achievements, awesome gun shop and tons of new great weapons !
Caused 10,000 damage with unique Mojave Wasteland weapons
You can find instructions for this type of achievements in Damage Achievements section. Remember to use unique weapon. For example you can use Benny’s Maria.
Cause 10,000 damage with Gun Runners’ Arsenal (GRA) Weapons
You can find instructions for this type of achievements in Damage Achievements section. Remember to use weapons with (GRA) in description or name.
Complete any three Gun Runners’ Arsenal (GRA) one star (★) Challenges
Time for some hard challenges… I won’t explain how to complete them. Just follow your goals. I will describe all challenges. You have to complete three of them.
A Slave Obeys
Kill Mr. House with a 9 iron or Nephi’s golf driver.
Benefit Or a Hazard
Kill 15 Robots with 5.56mm pistol (GRA).
Ne Ne Ne Ne…
Cripple 5 Right Arms with Shotguns.
Overkill
Kill 20 Animals with any Fat Man or Fat mines.
The Same Could Be Said of All Religious Weapons
Kill 15 Feral Ghouls with Maria, Gehenna, or Holy Frag Grenades.
You Don’t Belong In This World!
Kill 20 Abominations with Katanas, Dynamite, Machetes, Throwing Spears, Throwing Knives, and Throwing hatchets.
Completed any three Gun Runners’ Arsenal two star (★★) Challenges
Next hard challenges… I won’t explain how to complete them. Just follow your goals. I will describe all challenges. You have to complete three of them.
Dyin’ Ain’t Much of a Living
Kill 5 members of NCR or Legion hit squads with weapons affected by the Cowboy perk.
Even a God-King Can Bleed
Cripple Caesar’s head with Throwing Spears.
Historical Propriety
Kill Caesar with a Knife or Combat Knife.
Nyah! See?
Kill 10 Chairmen, White Gloves, or Omertas with any submachine gun, light machine gun, or minigun.
Sic Semper Tyrannis
Kill President Kimball with any One-Handed Pistol.
Talk About Owned
Kill Benny with his own gun, Maria.
Vault 13’s Revenge
Kill 15 Super Mutants with 5.56mm Pistols, Plasma Defenders, Plasma Grenades, Power Fists, Rippers, or the Bozar.
White Line Nightmare
Kill 20 Fiends, Vipers, or Jackals with Tire Irons, Baseball Bats, Lead Pipes, Machetes, .44 Magnum Revolvers, or Sawed-Off Shotguns.
Completed any three Gun Runners’ Arsenal three star (★★★) Challenges
And the last hard challenges… I won’t explain how to complete them. Just follow your goals. I will describe all challenges. You have to complete three of them.
Man-Machine Interface
Kill 10 Mojave Wasteland Mr. Gutsys and Sentry Bots with Brass Knuckles, Spiked Knuckles, Tire Irons, and Lead Pipes.
Deathclaw Pro Hunter
Kill 5 adult Mojave Wasteland Deathclaws with .22 Pistols, Switchblades, Boxing Tape, Recharger Rifles, or Dynamite.
Crackerjack Timing
Kill 10 Mojave Wasteland Cazadores with Tin Grenades, Long Fuse Dynamite, and Time Bombs.
Armed For Bear
Kill 15 named NCR Rangers or commissioned officers (Lieutenants, Captains, Majors, Colonels, Generals) with Machetes, Rippers, Chainsaws, Throwing Spears, or Ballistic Fists.
Against All Tyrants
Kill 10 named Legion members with Hunting Revolvers, Ranger Sequoias, Brush Guns, Service Rifles, Hunting Rifles, or Cowboy Repeaters.
DLC – Honest Hearts achievements
Another DLC ! Honest Hearts gives cool story, great location and five easy new achievements.
Arrive at Zion
Story related, can’t be missed.
Resupply Daniel and the Sorrows
Story related, can’t be missed.
Scout the Zion Valley for signs of the White Legs
Story related, can’t be missed.
Crush the White Legs
There are two endings for this DLC. After ,,In a Foreign Land” achievement, you will get the quest “Gathering Storms”. SAVE HERE. In this quest you must talk to Daniel. You can talk to him about the ending. Choose the option to fight the White Legs. Follow your goals and you will recive the achievement.
Evacuate Zion
Load your save from previous achievement. Choose the option to evacuate Zion. Follow your goals and you will recive the achievement.
DLC – Dead Money achievements
Next DLC ! This one is really hard. There is amazing story but location isn’t really cool and it’s hard as hell. You won’t be able to use your stuff here. And of course five new achievements.
Recruit Dean Domino, Christine and Dog
Story related, can’t be missed.
Complete the Sierra Madre Gala Event
Story related, can’t be missed.
Collect 500 Sierra Madre Chips
You have to get 500 Sierra Madre Chips. There are tons chips in town. Fountain, container, house … You can find them everywhere. After you reached the casino and turned power on you can play blackjack or roulette with Sierra Madre Chips. Gamble until you reach 500. It isn’t hard. You will need Sierra Madre Chips to survive.
Confront Father Elijah in the Sierra Madre’s Vault
Another DLC with two different endings. Go through the vault. At the end there will be vault bunker . Enter the bunker and SAVE HERE. There is the terminal. Use it to convince Elijah to come down. Kill him.
Trap Father Elijah in the Sierra Madre’s Vault
Load your save from previous achievement. Use the terminal to convince Elijah to come down. Leave the bunker and rush to the elevator ( to the left ). Use the elevator. He will be trapped and you will get the achievement !
DLC – Old World Blues achievements
Next DLC ! New story, new location, five new achievements. Let’s go !
Reactivate all of the Sink’s robotic assistants
You have to complete ,,All My Friends Have Off Switches” quest. Instructions and locations below.
- Install the Sink Central Intelligence Unit. You will get it at the start of the DLC with the Think Tank. You have to install it first.
- Sink – Magnetohydraulics complex.
- Auto-Doc – Complex Y-17 medical facility.
- Biological Research Station – X-22 botanical garden.
- Jukebox – House #108 of Higgs Village.
- Book Chute – House #101 of Higgs Village.
- Light Switch 01 – X-2 transmitter antenna array.
- Light Switch 02 – Big MT north tunnel.
- Muggy – Securitron de-construction plant.
- Toaster – The Cuckoo’s Nest.
- Return to the Sink and install all mods. The achievement should pop-up!
Search your feelings… for your heart
It’s weird. On steam it is Change of Heart but everywhere else it’s Cardiac Arrest!. Different name, different description but It has to be the same achievement. You have to get the stealth suit MK II in the X-13 research facility. Travel there and follow the X-13: Attack of the Infiltrator! quest. It’s given by Doctor Klein. Achievement should pop-up at the end.
Find your courage… find your spine
You have to complete X-8: High School Horror! quest. It’s given by Doctor Klein. Travel to the X-8 research center and follow your goals. Achievement should pop-up at the end.
Make up your mind… about your brain
Story related, can’t be missed.
Complete Old World Blues
Story related, can’t be missed.
DLC – Lonesome Road achievements
And the last DLC ! This one is quite hard. Take a lot of ammo and money. New story, new location, new five achievements !
Found all of ED-E’s upgrades in the Divide
You have to find all ED-E’s upgrades. They are not hard to find and they are really useful. Locations below.
- In the Hopeville silo bunker, just after you unlock the silo doors.
- In the Hopeville Missile Base HQ under a desk.
- In the Ashton silo control station behind a locked door, level 1 silo, hack the (hard) terminal next to it.
- In the municipal sewers connected to the Third Street Municipal Building offices. Enter the pipe you’ll see at the north-west side of the building.
- Just before the Cave of the Abaddon. There is a warhead that needs to be blown up. Upgrade will be on the ground slightly north of the pipe’s top opening.
Acquire all upgrades for the Divide’s signature weapon
You have to upgrade Red Glare weapon. You can get it when you are tasked with picking up the laser detonator. You can find those upgrades but they are very rare. They makes that weapon much better. You can buy them but … you need 34,000 caps. Don’t worry. You can make a save, sell all your stuff ( If you have expensive equipment it shouldn’t be a problem ) and buy upgrades. Install them. Achievement should pop-up. Then you can load your save. You can back to Divide after finishing DLC and do it later if you don’t have money.
Detonate all of the warheads in the Divide
Ok, you need to detonate 30 warheads. It isn’t hard, it’s time-consuming. I did it without any guide but if you have a problem you can find many great guides with locations of them. You need laser detonator to detonate them.
