Don’t have a controller? This guide will teach you how to play Mega Man X with your keyboard, even if the game has its configuration limit. **WARNING**This guide contains tons of grammatical errors and incorrect syntaxes or phrases that might trigger some people who are specialized in grammar. Default Key Binding/ปุ่มเดิมที่เกมตั้งมาให้

First thing you need to know is the default key binding. As you can see, there are several keys available, no wonder why some people being upset about this. Because not everyone prefers the same fingers position on their keyboard while playing other platformer games. Most of the time, people would prefer a controller rather than a keyboard to play this type of game.

อย่างที่แรกเราต้องรู้ก็คือปุ่มที่เกมมันเซ็ทมาให้ครับ จะเห็นได้ว่าเราจะสามารถใช้ได้แค่บางปุ่มเท่านั้น ไม่ต้องสงสัยเลยว่าทำไมใครหลายคนถึงไม่ค่อยชอบมากนัก ก็เพราะว่าแต่ละคนเล่นเกมแนว Platformer มาแตกต่างกัน อีกทั้งตำแหน่งวางมือของแต่ละคนก็ต่างกันไปอีก ผู้คนส่วนใหญ่ก็เลยหันมาใช้จอยเล่นเกมแนวนี้แทน.

The keys available in the game are:
Esc, Arrow keys, Tab, Spacebar, A, S, D, F, Z, X, C, and V

ปุ่มที่สามารถใช้ในเกมนี้:
Esc, ปุ่มลูกศร, Tab, Spacebar, A, S, D, F, Z, X, C, แล้วก็ V

However, these keys are close to each other on the keyboard. You may have noticed how close they are when you look at them.

จะว่าไป ถ้าเราสังเกตุดีๆ ไอปุ่มพวกนี้มันอยู่ใกล้กันมากเลยใช่ไหมครับ?

The reason why the game chose these keys is because the game wants you to put your fingers in a more relaxed position, in which allow your left hand fingers to press the right buttons to control your character more easily.

สาเหตุที่เกมมันตั้งมาให้แบบนี้ก็เพราะว่าเกมมันต้องการให้เราวางนิ้วดูผ่อนคลายขึ้นครับ แล้วก็เพื่อที่จะให้เราสามารถกดปุ่มควบคุมที่อยู่ในระนาบเดียวกันได้ง่ายขึ้นด้วยครับ

And of course, you can config these keys in each game, but only the available keys can be customized. for example, you can change your DASH button from A to Z, X, C, V, S, D, and F,
others than these keys such as B and N are not going to work…

เราสามารถไปตั้งค่าปุ่มในแต่ละเกมได้ด้วยเช่นกันครับ แต่ว่ามันกำจัดเฉพาะปุ่มที่เกมมันตั้งมาให้ให้เท่านั้นนะครับ อย่างเช่น เราสามารถเปลี่ยนปุ่มพุ่งจาก A ไปเป็น Z, X, C, V, S, D แล้วก็ F ได้แต่นอกจากตัวพวกนี้อย่างเช่น B และ N นั้นไม่ได้นะครับ

Keys config and fingers position/การตั้งค่าปุ่มและการวางนิ้ว

Well, I wouldn’t argue with you if you’re okay with a default setting, but if you are the one who doesn’t feel comfortable, don’t you worry, I got you covered.

ก็นะ ถ้าคุณโอเคกับปุ่มปกติที่เกมตั้งมาให้ผมก็ขอไม่เถียงละกันครับ แต่ถ้าคุณรู้สึกไม่ถนัดล่ะก็ ไม่ต้องห่วงครับ ผมมีวิธีมาให้คุณแล้ว

In the main menu, make sure you go to option first and then set:
พอเข้าเกมมาแล้ว อย่าเพิ่งกดเริ่มนะครับ ไปที่ตั้งค่าก่อน จากนั้นก็เซ็ทปุ่มเป็นดังนี้ครับ:

For X1-X3/สำหรับ X1-X3
C for Shot/โจมตี
X for Jump/กระโดด
Z for Dash/พุ่ง
A for Previous Weapon/เลือกอาวุธก่อนหน้านี้
S for Next Weapon/เลือกอาวุธถัดไป
Leave menu as Space/อันนี้ทิ้งไว้แบบนั้นครับ

For X4/สำหรับ X4
C for X Buster/Z Saber/โจมตี
X for Jump/กระโดด
Z for Dash/พุ่ง
F for Giga Attack/Zero Rakuhouha (落鳳破)
V for X’s Special Weapons/Zero’s Special Moves/อาวุธที่ได้จากบอสหรือท่าของซีโร่
A for Previous Weapon/เลือกอาวุธก่อนหน้านี้
S for Next Weapon/เลือกอาวุธถัดไป

The reason why I set those keys like that is because It will adjust your fingers position to be more comfortable. As you can see, Z, X, and C are near to each other, right?

เหตุผลที่ทำไมผมถึงเซ็ทปุ่มแบบก็เพราะว่ามันจะทำให้เราสามารถวางนิ้วได้ถนัดขึ้นครับ สังเกตุได้ว่าปุ่ม Z, X แล้วก็ C อยุ่ใกล้กันใช่ไหมครับ?

Now, let’s put your fingers in their right position. On your left hand try to put your index finger on C, middle on X, and ring on Z. On your right hand, put your index finger on the left arrow, middle finger could be on up or down arrow, and index finger on right arrow like in the picture below.

เอาล่ะ งั้นเรามาลองวางนิ้วกันหน่อยดีกว่า โดยเริ่มจากมือซ้ายนะครับ วางนิ้วชี้ไว้ตรงตัว C วางนิ้วกลางไว้ตรงตัว X แล้วก็นิ้วนางไว้ตรงตัว Z ทางฝั่งมือขวา ให้เริ่มจากวางนิ้วชี้ไว้ที่ลูกศรซ้าย วางนิ้วกลางไว้ระหว่างลูกศรบนและล่าง และวางนิ้วนางไว้ที่ลูกศรขวา

By doing this, not only make you feel comfortable, but you can also use your three fingers at once. Plus, three of your finger aren’t too far from each other. While pressing Z, X, C, and arrow buttons, you will notice how close your fingers are, this will make you control your character movement more easily.

Into gameplay/เข้ามาในเกม

It should be pretty much the same as the controller since you have to control your character with arrow keys and action buttons. But playing with a keyboard has its advantage; easy dash jumping.

การเล่นโดยใช้คีย์บอร์ดคงจะไม่ต่างอะไรกับจอยมากนัก ในเมื่อคุณจำเป็นที่จะต้องควบคุมตัวละครให้ปุ่มท่าทางแล้วก็ลูกศร แต่ว่าเล่นด้วยคีย์บอร์ดมันมีข้อได้เปรียบอยู่อย่างนึงครับ; สามารถพุ่ง+กระโดดได้ครับ

You can perform a dash jumping by holding forward key and quickly press jump and dash simultaneously, or dash first and then jump. This will It should be like this in my setting.
Hold Left or Right then Z and X/กดลูกศรซ้าย หรือ ขวาค้างไว้ กด Z จากนั้นก็กด X

The main purpose of dash jumping is to increase a character’s mobility, which makes gameplay much faster, and you can also do this while doing a wall jump by facing your character toward the wall and do the same thing; allow you to kick your character away from the wall much faster and longer. Plus, you can also hold down your attack button to charge your weapon at the same time.

จุดประสงค์หลักของการพุ่ง+กระโดด(เรียกว่า Dash Jump ดีกว่า)ก็เพื่อทำให้ตัวละครเรามีความคล่องตัวขึ้นครับ ซึ่งจะทำให้ตัว gameplay มันไวขึ้นด้วย อีกทั้งเรายังสามารถทำในขณะที่กำลังไต่กำแพงได้ด้วย โดยการหันหน้าเข้าหากำแพงแล้วก็ทำแบบเดียวกันแบบบนพื้น พอทำแบบนี้แล้วจะทำให้ตัวละครเราดีดตัวได้ไกลและเร็วขึ้น อีกทั้งเรายังสามารถกดปุ่มโจมตีค้างไว้เพื่อชาร์จอาวุธไปพร้อมกันได้อีกด้วย

Conclusion/สรุปสุดท้าย

Playing with keyboard somehow has its advantage over a controller, but also provide a new way to have fun while playing, but I didn’t say that playing with a controller doesn’t have the advantage at all, you can enjoy them both, regardless of your preference.
