Step by step:

1. Buy Sonic Adventure for the best deal.[isthereanydeal.com]

2. Install the Mod Installer.
   (Download above)
   The link will take you to the website containing the download.

3. If you’re worried about losing your saves, back them up into a folder on your desktop.
   C:Users%USERNAME%DocumentsSEGASonic Adventure DXSAVEDATA
4. Run the SadxSetup.exe file you downloaded.
   You will have to go through a few steps and it will start showing you some mods.
   Remember that all mods can be toggled on or off later.

   

5. If it doesn’t know the Destination folder, click Browse, then go to
   This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Sonic Adventure

   Then click Ok.

6. Eventually it will start installing files. This is good, Just wait for it to finish.
   It may seem stuck, but it is working. Just be a bit patient.
   It’s almost ready. 🙂

   
   

7. If you backed up your save files, go to the games folder.
   C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonSonic Adventure DX

   Then create a folder called SAVEDATA and copy the Save files there.

   

   If it’s your first time playing, the game automatically creates the folder when you make your first save.

8. Now you can open and play the game. Enjoy! ^^
   You can open it any way you wish.

   

Before and After

Different mods have different affects on visuals. This installer will also remove the blue border. 🙂

Help

1. To find and install new mods, Go to this site.[gamebanana.com]

   Download and extract them to:

   C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonSonic Adventure DXmods
2. To access the Mod Manager, you have to open the game through Steam then
   select Configure Sonic Adventure.
   
3. To change your controls, there is a Controls button at the Top Left.

   Here are my recommended controls:

   Ignore the crossed out buttons. 🙂

4. To open the Mod Manager, select the Mods button at the Top Right.

   This brings up the Mod Manager.

   

   On some mods, you can alter their settings slightly, by selecting them and clicking Configure.

   

   Here are my recommendations:

   Cream appears for a couple seconds flying through Station Square. I prefer her to appear.
   

   I also prefer the newer fruits and Station Square chao garden.
   

   There are also many different codes that you can toggle. These are similar to mods.

   Access them by selecting the Codes menu at the top of the Mod Manager.

   

   They are mostly cheats, but some don’t necessarily ruin the enjoyment.
   Here are the ones I have on. 🙂
   

Other Menus:

The other menus are:

Graphics – Change the resolution and remove blue border with “Background Fill Mode”.

Options – Decide if the game pauses when inactive and change when the manager will find updates.
(You need to open the manager to allow it to find updates)

Config Editor – Enable or disable Windowed mode, change graphics and change volumes.
(Button located at bottom right of the manager)

   then find a mod, and download and extract them to:
   C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonSonic Adventure DXmods

2. The game shouldn’t crash once this is installed. I am unsure of what you should do if it does. Maybe try changing some options in the mod manager.
3. You can still use a keyboard. In the mod manager, there should be a mod that lets you edit keyboard controls.
4. Steam Achievements can still be unlocked.
5. All mods are optional and can be toggled on or off.
6. Incase you’re worried about your game files being removed, back them up then add them back.
7. Mods can be updated by opening the Mod Manager.
8. All mods are made by various different people, as you can see when looking at the Mod Manager.
9. The game’s folder size goes from about 1GB to 2.2GB.
