This Guide will aid you in installing my package containing various community fixes and my own fix on getting Sound Effects to workYou will also be able to play the Steam Version for Achievements and The Modded Version after you have completed this guide.*Note* The Steam and Modded Versions will use different saves Prepare to play the game twice if you care about achievements*Note*
Information about the Mod Package
I have put together a simple package. The compressed .exe archive is generated with 7zip it will use 193 MB of ram to uncompress the Archive File size is 1.04GB Uncompressed the folder is 1.73GB.
For the Mod Loader to work the 2004 version needs to be used the files Sonic – Super Fix.exe and Sonic.exe are included in this package along with all other files needed including the code.dat file.
There is an Extra’s folder with the SADX Trainer and SASave included No save files included. The SASave program can convert Steam(2010)-PC(2004) And supports .vmu(DreamCast Virtual Memory Unit)/.gci(Gamcube Memory Card) to PC(2004)
Sound effects from the 2004 PC Port are used in this package.
I have also included my copy of system_config.xml for the steam copy it is set to vsync off FXAA off with a resolution of 1280×720, for me the steam configuration tool just black screens with the mods installed you can right-click the .xml file and click edit to change settings manually 0 means off 1 means on for vsync and fxaa.
You can play both the Steam version for the achievments and play the Modded version but the saves won’t be the same.
The Following Mods are included in the package:
SADX Fixed Edition
SADX Music From The Gamecube port
Xinput fix
MipMapped textures
Metal Sonic – *Warning* this mod imports Metal Sonic textures and physics from SA2 Certain spots will push metal sonic foward and he slides alot use at your own choice it is turned off by default.
Installing the Mod Loader Package
To install this package run SADX Mod Loader For Steam.exe
Found in the downloads section
A folder of the same name will be created.
1)Copy the files and folders inside the “SADX Mod Loader For Steam” folder to your “Sonic Adventure DX” folder located in “/steamapps/common/” usually located in “C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/” for 64-Bit version of windows or “C:/Program Files/Steam/” for 32-Bit version of windows. Once all files are copied the installation is done. the controls are configured for a DualShock3 with MotionInJoy Drivers v6.0003 in Xbox360 Mode.
2) add a Non-Steam game to your library and choose SADX ModManager.exe I have included a SADX ModManager.png of the Icon from the 2004 exectuable so the game Icons are different in your Steam Library
For DualShock3 Owners
