Overview
This guide show you where the optional puzzles are found in The Turning Test. It will not give you the answers to these puzzles but rather where to find them.
Why create this guide
I created this guide because while I was plyaing “The Turing Test”, I missed 5 of the optional puzzles (and didn’t mark where they were). After I completed the game, I went lookin for guide with where they were. None existed. Thus I though thought I’d write one.
The way I’ve decided to organize this Walkthough is by Chapter. To avoid any spoiler’s, if you accidently clicked on this Walkthrough, I’ll place the title of the achievement next to the chapte rin the section header. Any while I won’t reference how to solve the optional puzzle (there are other guides for this), I will give my impression of the puzzle.
Chapter 1 – This is a Lock

This is the first Optional Puzzle. There is a quick way to solve this puzzle (it’s referenced in another guide), but my experience with this puzzle was interesting. I stumbled accross this room on my first play though the game. When I entered it “TOM” said I wasn’t ready for it. It looked daunting as so I left. I came back after I completed the game and though a series of trials and errors, I figured out the combination to the lock.

This is a neat puzzle becuase it uses a machanic that I didn’t see anywhere else in the game. I don’t hurry though this puzzle and and just enjoyed it (ok that may have been a small hint).
Chapter 3 – The Universe’s Machine Epsilon

I really loved the thought process behind this puzzle, because when you’ve think you’ve solved the puzzle, you haven’t. This one you have to do almost with precise accuracy to solve it. Of all the optional puzzle, I really enjoyed the reward at the end of this puzzle the best.
Chapter 4 – Algorithmic Composition

Achievement: Thinking outside the box

This was the first optional puzzle that I solved in the game. The outside thinking of the optional puzzles is really shown in this puzzle. The solution to this puzzle is not straight forward, but once you figure it out, you will hopefully be like me and say, “Cool, clever puzzle”.
Chapter 5 – The Chinese Room

This optional puzzle is one of the running themes in “The Turing Test”. I enjoyed having to figure out what to do to open each door as it was a little different than when I had experienced up to that point. If you are only going to do one of the optional puzzle, I highly recommend this one. It plays well with the story of the game.
Chapter 6 – Boolean Logic

This one took me a while to figure out. While I might have done if faster if I had looked a the achievement title for this one. As I was trying each combination, I thought there was a trick to it and there is.
Chapter 7 – Thinking outside the box

I think this was my favorite of the optional puzzles. As the title suggests, you really do have to think outside of the box to solve this one. Everything the game has been teaching you up to this point, mostly doesn’t apply. It took some creative thinking to solve this one.
Conclusion
I hope this guide helps you find the optional puzzles without spoiling the puzzie itself. After I gathered all the information for this guide, I realized that it’s easy to find the optional puzzles. Chapter one it’s in room 7 (I’m assuming because room 1 is like the prologue to the game). All the rest of the chapters, the optional puzzle is in the room that ends with a 6.
