Chip’s Challenge 1 Guide

Level 134 - PAIN Walkthrough for Chip's Challenge 1

Level 134 – PAIN Walkthrough

Overview

Aptly named, one of the most frustrating levels in the game. Other walkthroughs and videos don’t account for the changes from the original version to this version. Here’s an adaptation of a good walkthrough taking all enemies into account.

134 – PAIN

The following guide is for the original version of this level from Michael Gonzalez, found at [link]. My additions for the current version of Chip’s Challenge are added in bold and should clear up any pesky pests.

Go down and right until the end (don’t go through the dirt yet). There should be a bug there going around in circles. When another bug comes and the bug starts moving normally, go through the left patch of dirt [NOTE: The next step should be done quickly]. Get the chips and step aside to free the bugs. Continue getting more chips and freeing more bugs until you reach a brown block. Don’t hesitate when grabbing the chips. Timing is crucial. Don’t stop moving. Push the first block upwards and push the second block downwards. Also get the rest of the chips. If you were fast enough, you should begin to see the bugs going into the water at the bottom. You will likely see one bug. Now use the last block that you pushed up to build a bridge across the water at the left (you need to do quite a bit of circling around).

Cross down to the bottom area with the blocks. If you stop and watch (don’t worry, you’re not in danger of the bugs anymore), you’ll see two gliders making a large circle around the water and fire area. Directly below the fourth block from the left are a couple of fires that you will need to go through. Push the block in the fifth column from the left down one. Do not put it into the water. This will trap the two gliders in a small loop that can stay out of your way completely. Just don’t move the two crucial blocks. Use one block to build a bridge to the fireboots. Then Go to the right and build a path going down to the last chip. After collecting the chip, you need to use the blocks to build a path ALL THE WAY TO THE EXIT SQUARE. This is terribly time consuming. Luckily, you don’t need to use ALL of the blocks. You actually have quite a bit of wiggle room in terms of how many blocks you will have left over. You will have to completely snake around the lower board to get to the exit.
