Overview
In search of something to freshen up your game-play? Here is a good idea to make the game more interesting and fun in a new light, mostly focusing on role-play and implementing (imaginary) mechanics in this challenge iv’e named: Queens of Legends!
Discription
If you find yourself getting bored of Niche and need something to freshen your enthusiasm for the game, challenges are always a great way to continue on enjoying the game to its fuller potential!
This Queens of Legends challenge, or QoL for short, lets you explore more of the role-playing part of niche, as you develop your tribe with unique sets of rules for them to religiously follow (for the most part). Note this is not a difficult challenge unless you make it so for yourself, so as long as you have basic understanding of the game anyone can do it.
The Queens of Legends challenge includes:
– unique rules for nichlings to follow
– empty lists waiting for you to add in your tribes lure and legends!
– information to help keep everything somewhat organized
and a few more things!
Layout
layout of QoL, you are welcome to copy and paste into google docs or whatever so you can use it yourself!
Legacy Tribe Rules:
1. Max tribe limit is 45 nichlings.
2. If pair of nichlings that are closely related (sibling, parent) breed together, the male will be given the “no fertility gene mutation”.
3. A female can have a maximum of 3 litters of babies, having twins does not contribute to the limit.
4. There is always a dominant female that rules over the tribe, she gets the privilege of having 4 litters of babies instead of 3, and can swap mates when she pleases.
5. If a new pair of nichlings wish to mate, they must first travel to the Queen for approval. If the queen accepts, they can mate together. If she declines, they cannot mate together, and if nichlings are caught mating without approval, they will be banished and/or killed. Only 3 pairs allowed at a time (excluding Queen and her mate(s)).
6. A new queen is only chosen once the previous one dies or when traveling to a new island without the previous Queen.
7. When a new queen is needed, either the highest ranking pair gets to become royalty, a new female can challenge the throne, or the previous Queen’s eldest daughter claims the right of Queen. If multiple females wish to claim the throne, the choice is decided by their stats/looks, and if they are fairly equal, do a dice roll to determine the next queen, or whoever has royal blood.
8. If a female gets impregnated by a rogue male, they won’t be kicked from the tribe, but will be considered the lowest ranking member, and likely never have a mate, or their current mate could disown them. This is noted when the female is given a left orange gem.
9. If a female has a child but doesn’t have an approved mate, it will be assumed it was a rogue male unless she is caught mating with a male from the tribe, then both will be banished/killed.
Gem Color Definitions:
Green: N/a
Orange: Curse. Right gem = Bearyena’s curse. Left = Mated with Rogue (dishonor)
Blue:
Pink: Lovers. Each pair with have 1 corresponding pink gem.
Yellow: Royalty. Queen will have full yellow gems, her offspring (royal blood) w/ the first gem yellow, and any of her mates with the middle gem yellow.
Record of Queens:
Omens:
Rain signifies relief and fertility. When a child is born on the same day the rains arrive, it is considered a good omen, usually promising that the child will have a mate.
Bearyenas signify misfortune. If a Bearyena appears next to a nichling, it usually means that the nichling will not have good children (ugly, deformed, unlucky, etc), so if this happens the unlucky nichling will usually be very afraid to have any offspring. It is said it’s possible to lift the Bearyenas curse if you breed with one, as supposedly the curse is transferred into that child, but few have attempted to do so. The curse is signified by the right gem being orange.
Legacies/Legends of Nichlings:
*’s signify level of importance, *** being highest.
Favored Characteristics:
Nichlings have standards. There’s always some traits that are considered more attractive, and some not as much. These opinionated standards change every new island, but some standards/preferences never change.
List of current standards and preferences of a nichlings appearance:
Attractive / UnAppealing

Pattern:

(if left blank or option is not listed, there is no preference.)
Update
Hey everyone, just one quick thing first, thanks for all the love for this guide, im just glad other people have enjoyed playing a new playstyle in niche like I have. Anyways, I know the thanks things can be annoying so ill get to it.
After about 20 hours of my playthrough of my Legacy Tribe, ive certainly had loads of fun! Although, now that I have progressed farther into the game where I have a large population of fabulous winged nichlings, I came across some issues with keeping the population balanced between the fabulous yet fairly useless winged nichlings, and the normal ground nichlings as I call them. If your like me and you could just use all bird beaks, but feel you just cant overuse it cuz you just gotta have SOME veriety, here is a new rule I made for myself to counteract any issues of an unbalanced population.
NOTE: This rule is completely optional, and really only for those that have managed to unlock wings and intigrated them into your nichlings thoroughly.
10. For every female “ground” nichling, you may have 1 child with them with whatever compatible mate. This is excluding any mated females that already are allowed to have the 3 babies with their mates, and excluding any allied wild nichlings invited into the tribe.
No one is obligated to use this rule, but I felt the need to make it an exploritory option for anyone that wishes to use it. Let me know in the comments how you like this idea and how it went if you happened to use it yourself!
